So PS4 is officially more than 3 years old. The system is selling incredibly well but what about the games?

Back in 2013 people told us it is going to be another PS2. The future seemed incredibly bright but what do we have now?

Here's list of some exclusive titles PS2 had by the end of it's FIRST year

Next we have PS3. A system that was INFAMOUS for how terrible it's library was during it's first year. There is no way it can compete with PS2 so let's name some well received exclusive titles this system had back when it was as old as PS4 is right now.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?! Are there really people out there who are "fans" of this fucking garbage? Is there ANYTHING to this piece of shit outside of the herd mentality of "muh 40 million"?

I bought this cancer box for Bloodborne expecting games to come eventually and I'm still fucking waiting. Nioh and Last Guardian are the only exclusive titles that are worth waiting for and even those have a huge chance of ending up as mediocre trash.

Gravity Rush can be considered good but that's a Vita game so yeah. No games. Upcoming is TLG, that KH demo, and P5(PS3 game kek).

Since Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne are just average I thought Nier would be the first truly good game on the PS4, but then it became a PC game so there's that too. It's a joke of a console.

It's what happens when your hardware is too close to and games are developed on PCs first, most games, save for a few, are multiplat and why buy a console that only has, maybe, 3 exclusives not even wroth dropping $400 for.

And it's because this race for visuals has made many companies lose a fortune from last-gen.

I guess you could mention Disgaea 5 but all of those systems had exclusive Disgaeas. Can't name anything else worth shit unless you are going to be a dick and imply that trash like Order 1886 should be listed. But even if we were to mention mediocre games everyone immediately forgot about then PS3 and PS2 would still beat PS4 in the sheer numbers of those.

Right, we're hitting the uncanny valley already in graphics and it, personally, throws me off. I can't stand the plastic-like look of many 'life-like' characters in video games. Let's not also forget all the cinematics and voice acting that's eating into budgets, not that they would have put that money or time into making the game better, but they are only bloating.

the issue here is, multiplats are on EVERY platform including PC, there were multiplats that were console exclusive back in the day and definitely bolstered lineups of the gamecube and ps2 and xbox.

the thing is, for some reason, even though we're in an age where fewer and fewer games are exclusive, everyone seems to mistake that for the games not existing. They do, they're just not exclusive.

PS2 was the least powerful gen 6 console barring dreamcast and was a HELL to develop for. All nintendo portables were weaker than their direct competition. Nobody gives a fuck about specs when the thing has games.

It's just the death of exclusive games, user. They are increasingly few and far between. PS4 is a fine console, but the killer library of exclusives isn't coming back.

But Bloodborne is betteer than all those games combined. Quality > quantity

I guess Sunset Overdrive was kinda fun, and Forza is supposedly alright, but I'm not a racing games fan.

Driveclub is neat if you're into arcade racing. Call of Duty has early map access this time around. Helldivers is actually pretty cool (worth a try if you liked Magicka).

Exclusivity is dead user. The best set up right now is to get a ps4 for console games cause those are going to be the best version and a PC for the games that don't come to console.

I wish exclusive games would die as a phenomena so that I don't have to buy and keep the outdated hardware to play those 10 games I'm interested in, but it's never gonna happen.

I never quite understood this logic.
Like, yeah, Wii U is deader than dead, a complete fucking failure sales-wise. But why should anyone give a fuck at this point? Especially on a board full of people who are way beyond your average casual consumer.

There are hundreds of thousands of people who bought PS4 for a single game or two but god forbid getting Wii U despite the fact that it has a "solid" (by the sad modern standards that is) exclusive library.

It's like "uuugh I COULD get it for Bayo, W101, DKC and/or any number of nintendo's 1st party titles but come one guys it's a FAILURE!".

I never thought that any gen could get worse than 7th one with it's waggle/RROD/599 garbage but it's getting pretty sad by this point. Even games can't move consoles these days.

I think I will buy switch because it is guaranteed to get a solid 1st and 2nd party library, is well received by developers and so on but if this thing fails despite it's positive reception and leaks showing nothing but good stuff then I'll just go full mustard. It's exactly as you say OP, the library is really poor. Till Uncharted 4 was released the top games where Bloodborne and TLOU remastered.

That's just sad. Still supposedly they'll be delivering Hellblade, Ni no kuni 2, TLG, Horizon Zero Down and more soon... but 3 years for less than 10 games is still sad.

That's why buying a console before the games are confirmed is a mistake.

Console exclusivity as in "only available on consoles and not PC", not platform exclusivity.

Console exclusivity was huge back in 7th gen and was the reason why people gave shit about 360 because it just happened to have the best ports of console exclusive games available on the market.

P5 and RDR2 are the only "console exclusive" titles on your list with first one not coming out for Xbone and RDR2 merely not being confirmed for PC as opposed to being confirmed to never get a port.

Point being: there is virtually no fucking reason to mention "ps4 running games better than xbone" because 99% of games available on both of these platforms are also available on PC that blows ps4 out of the water.

Well that and the fact that everyone has all but confirmed that Scorpio will outperform Pro.

Besides, games that probably won't be on PC but on other consoles like Dragon XI will also be on the PS4. The PS4 is the perfect complement to having a PC.

There's not really any exclusives nowadays, but PC wins the exclusives battle easily. Not because it has a lot, but because the alternatives have almost none (ps4 has bloodborne that's it)

I just want this so I can play Jet Force Gemini with decent controls, but that's the only exclusive I want on Xbone, and there's at least a few I'm interested in on PS4, so getting an Xbone wouldn't be a great decision.

You know why Xboner sells out the PS4 in USA?
