Upgrade from r9 390 to a gtx 1070??

SHOULD I /v ?

Definitely. Enjoy the better temps and drivers. You won't be disappointed.

GPU : MSI R9 390 8GB SSD : samsung 850 evo 250 gb PSU : Corsair 650W RM series RAM : Corsair V LPX 8GB DDR4 CPU : i5 6500

this is my setup, do you think i will benefit ?

Too many bottlenecks better start from scratch.

Exactly. The CPU is too weak and is definitely bottlenecking his firestarter of a GPU. A X99 motherboard with a 6950x would be the wisest upgrade.

>X99 motherboard with a 6950x
What about just upgrading my processor to an i7 ?

Nope, the bottlenecking will lead to stuttering and force you to drop the resolution of games. Trust me user, it's worth it.

They're trolling you you dumb fuck, the 6500k is completely fine.

trust you on what ? what should i do i am freaking out, people are saying that it's not worth it to upgrade to gtx 1070 cuz my cpu will hold me back ??

He's pulling your leg. A 6500 is really really solid

he's reverse trolling

Yes your CPU is too weak you won't get that much of a performance boost out of your card because the processor won't be able to keep up.

>nvidia

Did you just assume my gender???

No, you stupid faggot.
You're fine.
That upgrade would produce a negligible increase in performance.

>ayymd housefires

Your CPU won't bottleneck. If you're really curious about it then get a system monitoring software like afterburner and check what percentage your CPU is relative to your GPU, unless it's really up there you won't have any issue.

However I wouldn't recommend dropping 400$ on what is going to be a pretty minor upgrade, but that's just me.

>not getting two 480s for $240 on black Friday.

>doubling the risk of burning your house down to save a couple of shekels
>buying 2 GPUs
>ever

>Upgrade Nvidia drivers
>House burns down

>Buy AMD
>House burns down

>Have an EVGA card
>House burns down

So much for master race...

>Buy a PS4 Pro
>House burns down
Fuck videogames

>Falling for the dual card meme
Don't from personal experience dual cards is one of the biggest mistakes if you're a gamer.

Not one developer designs games for Dual Cards. It's just a big waste of time unless you're an animator.

>Breathe
>Carbon dioxide mixes with the atmosphere and you spontaneously combust

Fuck being alive

Why the Fuck would you buy 2 shitty gpus?

that doesn't seem like much of an upgrade.

DO IT YOU CASUAL!

>all these people falling for the don't upgrade meme.

Niggas a 1070 is MANDATORY if you want to get into VR.

>forced obsolescence
>nvidia experience
>2016 drivers
>cards literally melting
>scalper prices
>that horrible power/performance ratio
Not this time

It's pretty much a given now that Nvidia have the worse drivers. Less often too and they require you to create an account to log in so they can look at all you delicious telemetry

can you recomend me a good cpu cooler for my CPU ?

I really like my hyper 212 evo, never used anything else.

I had a NVIDIA card and my house literally burned down. Never again

thats such a poitnless upgrade why the hell? Unless youre going for 1440p or 120hz id say no.

if you are playing at 1440p/4k yes if not no.

I've seen this picture a million times.

>forced obsolescence
>nvidia experience
>2016 drivers
>cards literally melting
>scalper prices
>that horrible power/performance ratio
Got AMD based PS4 Slim for $200.
Best gaming upgrade ever.
