The PS3 lineup was complete shit period. There is no point in being an apologist for the PS3 just because of a couple niche exclusives and Demon's Souls. It was the worst console for playing multiplats. The controller was awful. PSN was free but was shitty especially download speeds. It came out of the gate expensive and huge. They got rid of backwards compatibility to lower the price a few dollars. Hard drive installs took forever. The only good thing about the PS3 was it could play blu rays and stream Netflix without paying extra like with 360 at the time. But then $20 blu ray players with Netflix streaming were a thing.
Sony "remastered" the majority of their garbage PS3 first party offerings for PS4. The console's legacy will forever be a bad meme.

Be young kid in junior high during PS2 era. My older brother, cousin and I went to Meijer to stand in line for a PS2. The line was backed up to the exit of the store. Many people were also there to get Xboxs and Gamecubes. Some guy my brother had been talking to in line asked him to watch his wife's purse in his cart while he looked at something. My brother had never met the guy before that night, but had no choice as the guy walked off. Some other guy wouldn't shut up about the Gamecube and freaked out when someone in lined started a rumor that the store ran out of Gamecubes. There was the token cool black guy there as well, joking around with everyone. He said that everyone was in line so long that we were all becoming friends and getting to know each others names. Finally got our PS2. That was an adventure.
