What do you do?

Kill them and join the spiders on their assault.

Send in rockman.

Giant alien spiders are no joke.

Don't help and go about my day.

I chase down the fleeing ships and destroy them.

Then I destroy the space station.

The spider threat must be contained.

/thread

Mind control them and then drink some slurm.

>Referencing a shitty television show on Sup Forums in the year 2016.

Kill yourself.

Aren't you fucking joyless

Choke on my dick, you worthless piece of shit. Futurama is fucking garbage.

Send in a rock or move on. Doing anything else guarantees a crewman's death.

The first season is bad, but you have to agree seasons three and four really depicted New York life accurately.

>getting triggered by words

>Intruder aboard
>They must have had a zoltan bypass unit!

Futurama is great. It's funny, memorable, and reasonably clever. It is demonstrably not garbage.

The only correct answer. This threat must not get the potential to spread.

You're fucked mates. Crew, get ready to jump.

kys faggot.

Every. Fucking. TIME.

Flip a coin.

When the hell did Rockmen ever have a blue option here
wtf are you talking about

>Offer your sincerest apologies and jump away.
Never again.

I'm sorry, your shit taste is terminal.

>Send in attack drone
>They get pissy about the hull damage

Bitch, just open the doors and send in like 2-4 guys to fix it. The problem is solved in like 10 seconds.

What, a week now?
What are you getting out of stealing my name?

We will not be bound

>have a clone bay
Send in my crew. I can't lose!

for real. why would you want to impersonate an actual retard

>there's a ship paired with the intruder event
>the ship has a teleporter
>they don't use it until your Zoltan shield goes down
Had a Zoltan Bypass Unit my fucking ass.

>yfw

Yup. That looks like a typical run alright.

>that tiny Leto just tucked away in the middle

>that jump imminent cockpit covered in flames

That's probably the worst part of the image to me. If that ever happened to me, I'd uninstall.

>its an "oxygen is back to max but everyone is still suffocating" episode

How the fuck does anybody manage to beat this game?

I came close a few times.

Still bullshit.

git_ lucky

risk management

get lucky with the multi shot laser drops.

Beat it like 20 times on easy with various ships, then you should have enough knowledge to try normal.

If you can't beat it on easy though, just give up.

Unless you are using the Rockmen ship. You are excused if you can't get a run going with that awful piece of shit.

always take the route that lets you see the most jump points from, finding stores or quests is critical for easy resources or just having options.

I feel shitty playing on easy, but I can see how it would help with learning.

Thanks for all the other replies. Not gonna aspie out and click em all.

>raped by David X Cohen as a small child

Due to the RNG, Easy is actually Normal and Normal is actually Hard, and Hard is for fucking idiots.

This isn't one of those games where normal is insultingly easy still.

>on easy

This guy gets it. Slug ships are challenging but I love those slimy little fuckers

USS Space Jew

The game really doesn't encourage any difficulty other than easy

Normal Mode just vastly increases the odds of failure at any given turn and limits the amount of cool stuff you can buy, and Hard Mode is just to Normal what Normal is to Easy. The only bonus or gratification you get is to your run score, and who the fuck plays for score?

>who the fuck plays for score?

Go for shields first. You can also find an enemy early on to grind your crew's skills. Cloak is a must for the first time aw. Advanced content makes it harder but it has the clone bay.

20% perspiration, 80% having fun, and 30% luck senpai

If I'm trying to unlock ships I play easy

When I'm being a sweaty tryhard I use the unlocked ships on Normal or HARD

Anyone that says this game is only enjoyable on Hard or Normal are in denial. Easy is fun when you just want to fuck around with gimmick builds or unlock ships

I've never played this game, but from what I can tell here, you go explore an empty ship, something nasty sneaks on your own ship, and completely fucks your shit up.

How close am I?

>most skill masteries earned: 10

What the fuck man

My record is 4

ALWAYS TRY AND HELP
even if i lose my crew

It's possible

>never played FTL

Just give it a try man, it's like 150 mb and easy to get into

...

Step 1: hard mode
Step 2: High shields
Step 3: Find enemy who can't break your shields
Step 4: Farm each character's skill rating in Pilot, Engine, and Shield duty to max
Step 5: Your weapons-master is also your main brawler

heres my stats, i never played the game on easy and never beat the flag ship but i've gotten close bunches of times

depends, it is mostly unfair enemy ships that can just give you a death tap with 1 or 2 damage on a critical system before you can do anything.

it personally seems like unless you can get a flak cannon, you can't do shit to most enemies

>No O2

Hypnotizes the spiders with the weird magical device in my ship

Lucked out on a free burst laser II

>tfw don't even like the stealth ship

Leave them to their fate, I ain't fucking with no giant alien spiders man.

Breathing is overrated

>Most repairs
>Same guy

Tomas gets around.

Don't you mean high engine ?

20/10 equal parts laughter and rage

>doing well, pimping my ship with shields and weapons
>jump too close to a star
>2 shiled rebel ship
>didnt invest in jump recharge
>solar flare
>fire in shield room
>fire in engine room
>missile to the weapons room
>missile to engine room
>solar flare
>fire intensifies

Or.

>find some frigate after dealing with a rebel ship
>start new game
>it comes with a fuckoff laser that ignores shields
>make it to the final stand with burst lasers, ion bombs and heavy laser
>the first rebel ship i face sets everything on fire with shield ignoring hadoukens
>it wasnt even the rebel flaship

Everytime i think i'm doing things right the game cockslaps me back to reality.

Bunch of savages on this board.

tfw only one hard mode victory and I've died over a dozen times to the hard mode flagship.

Any tips for the legendary ship?

You mean getting the crystal ship, or succeeding with it?

High Engine helps, but given infinite time, which if you're grinding in hard mode you have infinite time, as long as you have some Evasion, you're fine.

Unlocking

There is no reason to go above 2 shields until like sector 5.

tfw

The only right answer

>tfw a hard drive failure lost my save
Never felt so bad about the loss of a save game

So is there an event that gives you a super crew member that isn't trash Zoltan or Engineer?

Can you ever get a maxed out super Rockman or a Mantis?

You need to get bullshit lucky.
You need to get the damaged statis pod in a asteroid field (I think it has a distress beacon?), go to a Zoltan research facility and use a blue option to revive the crystal guy, and get a quest marker to find an ancient device in the rockman homeworlds, to get into the crystal sector, where you get a quest marker.
That, or start with a Rock Cruiser C, name the crystal crewmember Ruwen, and you'll skip the first two steps.
Still, you need to get bullshit lucky or win a bunch which requires good luck and then you still need some luck.
ftl.wikia.com/wiki/Ship_Achievements/Ancestry

Stellaris is shit! Shit! SHIT!!!

Damn. I wiped my save when AE came out because I'd used a savegame editor to unlock the Crystal ship. Perfect excuse to fire it up again though.

you can get a mantis, need an advanced medbay or teleporter however.

God, this.

What's the fucking point, really.

youtu.be/ELUP-oZQKM4

>blue
what

>Crystal Ship
>Crystal Crew
>Never any O2

It is like boarding crews WANT to fucking die.

I've noticed that my games tend to fall into two categories since AE was released - the ones where I find Vulcan, and the ones I lose.
That being said, Stealth B is objectively torture and fuck the asshole who came up with that thing and its stupid gimmick.

...

>vulcan
Eh. I always had better luck with having a bunch of faster mid level weapons, like multiple burst laser 2s or flaks.
That said, how many victories do you have, and on what difficulty?

mfw Captain's Edition

15 out of 137, all on Normal.

You just have to aim for the correct stuff, mainly for the flagship.

You need either 2 of the following to survive that motherfucker.

- Shield fully upgraded.

- Full or nearly full evasion (40+%)

- Defense Drone M.II (M.I is still very useful) along with a Shield Overchargers if you're lucky(Drone Recovery Arm really useful here).

- Cloak, No seriously, this shit is fucking OP with the correct augments.

Personally, Drone+Shield is the one I end up using the most, you're ALWAYS going to find a store selling the Drone system, the real shit is finding a Drone Recovery Arm.
