ok im going first, Xenoverse.
Any good? should i go for 2?
only if you haven't played Xenoverse since the first time you beat it
That's not Budokai Tenkaichi 2
Budokai 3 is easily the best really. It was the last time they bothered with any kind of responsive and enjoyable gameplay. After that people just kept buying the Tenkaichi clones because they had Dragon Ball Z on the title and so there was no incentive to put in effort ever again. Good job retarded DBZ autists, you ruined DBZ games for DBZ fans.
Budokai 3 was the last one i bought.
Each game kept getting more and more characters, which is fine, but the movesets began to vary little when you got past the main cast.
Everything after just never really interested me gameplay wise.
>dragon rush
>enjoyable gameplay
>getting put into Dragon Rush
Being a shitter deserves to get you put into Rock Paper Scissors, you should be glad there's a babby tier mechanic to help you honestly.
because you have no fighting game skills at all and can't break into 3d with bt3 so b3 is as good as a 2d scrub like yourself is ever going to do.
>bt3
The Tenkaichi games are to fighting games what Musous are to action games.
Play infinite world then, it's just B3's combat with some refinements and no dragon rush
The only down side is the story mode is worse
2 had the best story mode, I'll give you that.
I'm playing 2 right now. Honestly, flying around for every mission got annoying pretty quickly
Burst Limit is a better fighter. Shame there was never a sequel with the Buu Saga
Best Dragon Ball game overall is Advance Adventure
>there will never be a Burst Limit 2
STILL MAD
>with some refinements
>no beam struggle
>shitty stamina/fatigue system
>free ultimate moves
>even more OP teleport counters
>absolutely broken exploitable untested shit like Broly youtube.com
And that's just gameplay, not mentioning everything around it like the story mode and extras.
People can whine about Dragon Rush all they like but you'll only get hit into it if you suck shit and other than that the only gameplay drawback is that characters are objectively terribly balanced which is present in both.
Best what-ifs too. 3 had the Devilman that was very good, but that was it.
Every time I read threads I see always Raging Blast mentioned, like a shitty Tenkaichi game, but Burst Limit is like a game that never existed for some reason. Perhaps I am from some weird timeline where that game existed and in this world it just doesn't.
Beam struggle never happens unless you play braindead.
The stamine system is very punishing, i like it.
Yet they're still useless besides a few ones.
The teleport system is the same as B3.
Broly isn't even high tier you shittee
>The teleport system is the same as B3.
This is how I knew you weren't just retarded, but actually don't know what you're talking about.
I played it as well user. I remember being excited at the prospect of playing against people online at a dbz game outside of my close circle of friends... man times have changed.
How is it even different?
I bought Budokai 3 because Sup Forums told me to get it, I stopped playing it not even 2 days after getting it. Fuck you, Sup Forums. It sucks.
Budokai 3 is a worse version of Infinite World.
Lukather is such a beast.
>have to play rock, paper, scissors for the ultimate attacks
Fuck that
I'm just a big fan of GBA DB
Budokai 3 is by far the best DBZ game. The crazy huge character roster of the Tenkaichi games is nice, but they just kinda play like shit.
I hope you didn't bought the Collection one with the censorship and with the shitty soundtrack
Not that user, but
>censorship
wat?
>mfw I didn't even realize you could unlock the Cell Jrs and Saibamen until I got the HD Collection
Far as I remember:
>Raditz' guts censored in Budokai 1 cutscenes
>Vegeta's guts censored as well
>most bafflingly, Broly's ultimate move where he slams their head into the ground fades to white before he can slam their heads into the ground
Probably some others but this is all I remember noticing. Wouldn't be surprised if some blood might have been removed in cutscenes.
brolys finisher gets censored when he slams you head first into the floor before he blasts you. the screen turns white when you hit the floor
>Everyone hates Tenkaichi 3 now
Sup Forums has gotten more contratarian than usual.
Basically threads always go one of two ways, the B3 fans get in first, or the BT3 fans do.
it was a cell-shaded game, it didn't had any blood.
>Wouldn't be surprised if some blood might have been removed in cutscenes.
It was. It seems european versions of B1 for the ps2 already censored some shit before.
And why you thought that the Saibamen and Cell Jr weren't playable? The game makes you fight them a bunch of times.
I blame the no HD collection. If I am not mistaking, the Tenkaichi series isn't available on the psn either
But Tenkaichi 3, aside from the fanservice, is kinda shit, user.
In some countries this got turned into a black hole, which was carried over universally to the HD remasters.
It really hasn't aged well. Especially with how easily the CPU can put you in Dragon Rush. I've seen it happen with a simple Ki blast. Makes a 4/5 game a 2/5.
Also, for some reason Dimps thinks equipment, transformations and abilities should compete for the same pool of slots. That's a problem for characters like Goku that have so many abilities that they may as well equip Breakthrough and make the whole equipment system pointless.
>Budokai
>killer soundtrack
>has great cutcenes and tells the anime better than the anime in a lot of ways
>also Legend of Hercule mode
>some neat characters like Zarbon
>really cool graphics, especially for the time, wish they hadn't gone cel-shaded honestly
>Budokai 2
>killer soundtrack
>weird but charming board game mode
>kick ass What-If fusions fuck
>some of the best stages
>lots more moves and cool stuff
>Budokai 3
>killer soundtrack
>god tier animations and personality to moves and characters
>nice flying around and lots of secrets story mode
Honestly if Budokai 3 had infinite fusions in practice mode and 2's what if fusions there might not be a reason to have 2 at all, but the trilogy is kind of cool because each game has its own unique stuff to play it for. Budokai really feels stiff to go back to after Budokai 3 though, and Budokai 2's "give your hand blisters and ruin your analog sticks spinning in ultimate clash battles" shit was some trouble though.
2 had the coolest aura animations/lightning effects around the higher transformations though I dunno what they were thinking with those shitty paper cut-out looking wisps in 3 and not even having blue electricity for the super saiyans. Fuck off with that yellow nigga
Fuck you, your opinion, your family, and your whole existence.
Okay, but Tenkaichi 3 still plays like shit.
Did you play the game? The cutscenes had shit tonnes of blood. All over Goku, Raditz getting his guts blown through his abdomen, Vegeta leaking bits of himself in the air after Krillin zenkais him, Krillin being impaled on Frieza's horn, etc.
I dunno lots of fighting games have NPCs you can't play as and I never played the Dragon Arena.
>I've seen it happen with a simple Ki blast.
Doesn't the game need a hard knockback to enter Dragon Rush?
Also, this is why Infinite World's capsule system was so much better. Separate skill slots, transformation slots, and equipment slots.
>it's contrarian to hate a shitty game on Sup Forums
**That's actually true yeah.**
The ultimate attacks looked absolutely fucking awesome.
>Also, for some reason Dimps thinks equipment, transformations and abilities should compete for the same pool of slots.
Tenkaichi series shared that problem a bit. In of the Tenkaichis(2?) you would level up like attack/def/ki/etc items for some stupid reason. If they wanted a level system they could just bring back B3's one that was pretty fine
>That's a problem for characters like Goku that have so many abilities that they may as well equip Breakthrough and make the whole equipment system pointless.
True. But at the same time made Nappa, Raditz, Bardock and guys like that pretty based with certain items equipped.
>killer soundtracks that can never be used again
>awesome what-if characters in B2 that were never used again in another fighter
Fuck this
Zeno-sama, please.
Tenkaichi 3 was better in just about every way in my opinion, except for story mode and maybe graphics(beams/aura).
Don't care for how accurate B3 is to a traditional 2D fighter, BT3's system was just better. It was less about "le use Omega shenron for full ki and win game because of vanishing advantage," and more about constantly having to outplay your opponent. It's whoever can last the longest, not whoever punches first.
Main problem with BT3 was that it's controls were very slidey. If it was a bit more smooth like RB or RB2, it would've been much better.
Story mode you would fight Saibamen and Cell Jr a lot for exp points. I think Meta-Coolers too at some point of the game
This music is pure noise. Why we can't have decent music like in the SNES games?
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
>Supreme Kai theme
>pure noise
Are you fucking stupid? It may be that video, but the actual sound track from the game sounds amazing.
Raging Blast 2 is unironically my favorite too bad it didn't have a story mode
It was just a small patch of blood on their chest, as for the music, if I wanted to listen to Led Zeppelin, I would listen Led Zeppilin
Yeah but you could just unlock meta-Cooler by playing the story mode and getting the meta-Cooler capsule. You have to go into the secondary game mode to get the little guys.
Although now that I think of it I had other DA unlockables like the We Gotta Power/Cell Games Tournament/Sparklings/Red Ribbon Base so I dunno why I didn't get the characters.
This.
I enjoyed the snes game.
This game was pretty good
youtube.com
>played 2
>no story, only 1 has
>fucking galaxy mode with conditions with 1 hp left at start of the battle
>"look, you need to unlock items that are only used in this mode and by doing that you can have more hp instead of just 1"
What the fuck.
Other than that they were wizards. You could equip Auras, yep auras. And guess what? There are auras for some characters(like Broly, Janemba, earthlings, ginyu, force, saiyans, etc), as lighting aura AND THEN RED AND BLUE AURAS THAT LOOK LIKE SSG AND BLUE. Fucking wizards.
...
Why do people such as yourself insist on speaking about things you know nothing about though?
what game?
Super Dragon Ball Z
The SNES games are absolutely amazing and underrated
GOAT soundtracks too
Take off your nostalgia glasses man, it doesn't have guts.
>ctrl+f "legends"
>0 results
It's literally the only DBZ game that let you recreate scenes from the series and pound people around at super high speeds.
Anyone else play Hyper Dragon Ball Z? I'm fucking godawful at it but it's real fun and it's got that "labor of love" as opposed to a game made for profit
It's just a red hole. You talked like his intestines were flying everywhere on a super wave of violence.
Blinded by nostalgia.
It's $25 on consoles right now
That's literally the entire point of Dragonball Xenoverse.
Or "the Legend".
Game is pretty fun. Saturn version looked better. Awesome soundtrack. But still pisses me off how Future Trunks of the Cell saga(the one with the saiyan outfit) isn't playable in other modes aside of that episode when he was the best and fastest character of that game.
>You talked like his intestines were flying everywhere on a super wave of violence.
No I didn't.
>It's just a red hole
You can see his swirled guts inside. I provided you with the source material so you could see it since you haven't played the game.
Also when Vegeta gets blasted chunks of him fly out as he's falling. You should try watching them through sometime user, they're very well done.
The arcade games usually are better, I wish Zenkai Battle Royal got ported
Is the original Xenoverse worth playing anymore or am I better off just skipping to the sequel?
Either Advanced Adventure or Attack of the Saiyans
Budokai and BT were trash
this nigga knows the truth
If you're really interested in the story it's worth it
Of course i played the game, that's why i'm explaining to you that you're wrong.
Except I posted the source material that proves I'm correct and demonstrates you never knew what you were talking about since if you'd played the game you would have already seen those cutscenes and known their content.
Enjoy.
A red hole with something that indicates that might've been his guts inside isn't explicit violence or something that would make a big deal being removed from the game,
Grow up. Or take of them googles.
Just to be clear you're conceding that it in fact does show guts graphics as well as Vegeta's flying out of him when falling?
This is what's meant to be the depiction of guts being spilled.
>I can't dodge and learn to manage my energy to stop a Dragon Rush from happening
Your ass deserves to get RNG'd.
I've been playing Dokkan since the summer. Anyone pull the new Gotenks?
I'll take that as a yes.
It's clearly a No,
legacy of goku 2 and Legendary Super Warriors are the best dbz games also attack of the saiyans is pretty good too
>Dragon ball fusions
Kamehameha vs ... a gun?
OHHHH SHIIIIIIT
Why maintain being incorrect when the video evidence exists? What exactly is tying you to your position? Religious belief? Ideological motivation? I don't understand why someone wouldn't just admit they misspoke. What would be the investment in being incorrect here?
My point is that you're exaggerating about this whole thing, just stop this bullshit.
Xenoverse 2 is dlc for Xenoverse 1 if you want the truth. It's the same plot with the same missions, hell the very first mission you do is the exact same as the first mission in 1
>Goku and Piccolo vs Radditz
>Radditz glows purple and changes time blocking the SBC from Piccolo
>you have to fight the empowered Radditz
If you like Super go ahead and get it since they've already confirmed the first dlc will be two characters from it plus Future Trunks is already confirmed and I'm not sure if you can still get Black. Also if you liked the parallel missions there's a lot more of them to do that are pretty fun.
Other then that...I'd pass on this one. If you played Xenoverse 1 you've played Xenoverse 2.
why not buu's fury nigga?
I pulled the Str one. Too bad I can't awaken him though, because these new dokkan events are fucking impossible.
wrong
the story is xenoverse 2's weakest point no doubt but the actual gameplay is improved from XV1 tenfold
XV2 is honestly probably the best DBZ game just in terms of combat
I've been in a DBZ mood lately and thinking about getting a game. How are those xenoverse games I keep seeing pop up on steam? What are they about? I definitely dig the presentation.
>My point is that you're exaggerating about this whole thing
What's the exaggeration?
You said
>it doesn't have guts
It clearly does, like I said. And Vegeta leaks bits of himself in the air falling to the ground.
Is "nostalgia goggles" supposed to mean I remember things more clearly than someone who has never played the games?
>XV2 is honestly probably the best DBZ game just in terms of combat
but that's not how you spell Raging Blast 2
XV1 had some extra story elements, but XV2 had a much better story plot.
Story-mode aside, XV2 is better in every way, hands down, no fucking contest. There's literally no reason to play the first game.
Retro DBZ games have the best music. So many good tracks even on obscure game boy games I've never even seen gameplay of.
XV2 is good
however the port has a lot of bugs
