why pick this game
This is probably the worst Persona to start with since it is pretty much P3 and P4 fanservice. Play those first.
i hacked my 3ds
why is it not good for a first play through?
for I wish I still had my psp
>Is this a VN with turn by turn combat?
No? It's basically a light Dungeon crawler with FRIENDSHIP overtones.
>why pick this game
Because it's the best game of all the P3/P4 games.
Look one post above you man.
Best Persona game
Truly
This.
If you just want dungeon crawling and don't really know or care about persona, just play etrian odyssey.
Anybody willing to get into this make sure you pick p4 side. The Kanji/Ken subplot is unique to only that route and it's far better than the one the p3 side got.
I'll take superior p3 side battle music over either.
But then you'll miss out on more interactions with best boy.
That's just giving them another reason not to choose P4.
The only thing I'd say is better in P4 Side, is the scene in the Ghost Zone toilets and Mystery Weapon X Final Edition scene.
Otherwise they're both just average.
100%ed the game about 2 weeks ago. All demons unlocked and leveled up (excluding paid DLC ones), all characters strongest weapons/armor and max level and the final optional boss fight against the Velvet trio cleared. Got really lucky in that fight, Marge and Elizabeth were as low as I was willing to get them and wasn't sure if I'd be able to take out Theo too but went for it anyway by using Mind's Eye and Power Charge on all my multi-hit moves. Theo dodged a lot of my myriad arrows and survived after the other two were downed and it ending up coming down to Aigis getting Keranous off twice due to Heroic Gemini finally KOing his stupid ass.
P3 main is stronger than 4 tho due to Debilitate > Heat Riser
thanks for the spoiler
I had a lot of fun with PQ and I've played both sides and I still say that p4 side is better, simply because of how much screen time Kanji got so I might be biased, and he wasn't misrepresented like Akihiko, Chie, or Teddie. But I really did enjoy how well they integrated him getting to interact with Ken, whom is otherwise a rather bland character and it was nice seeing him get to open up to Shinji about their conflict in the end. You even get a sidequest due to their subplot that you can't get in the other route.
That fight isn't easy to get. Most people probably haven't seen it or even know about it since it's an optional boss. I didn't even want to try it since I think you have to do it solo.
Both P3 and 4 had you fighting the Velvet Room residents as post-game optional bosses so the only way it could be a 'spoiler' is if you haven't played either of them before and in which case what the actual Christ are you doing starting with Q first?
You fight the Velvet residents multiple times in sidequests, 4 or 5 total I think. You get full party in all but one (3rd IIRC)
I was talking about the last one specifically, the one where you have to have both routes completed and fight Theo as well.
That one would be completely impossible solo unless you were using hax.
Well then you'll love this youtube.com
I thought you had to fight them solo. Maybe I was remembering because I came across this video before I even finished my second route.
Persona 1 and 2 are traditional, dungeon crawling JRPGs. Persona 3 and up are VNs with turn based combat.
this game is blatant fan service for p3/p4 fans and i think you won't enjoy it as much or miss out on a lot of stuff if you haven't played those before
then again all the characters were comically reduced down to some select base traits so whatever
Persona Q 2 when?
You picked the worst game to start Persona possible.
Not because it's a bad game, far from it, I love it. You picked wrong because IT'S NOT PERSONA, it's an Etrian Odyssey game that's Persona themed. Plus the story is entirely based around Persona 3 and 4 fanservice.
Go emulate PS2 versions of Persona 3/4 first.
The Velvet attendant fight is a staple of the series and is also a bonus non-canon fight usually accessible in NG+, it spoils nothing.
Presumably after P5 releases worldwide. So late 2017 or 2018?
Well that makes me somewhat angry
OP here
Is there any game with a similar gameplay to this one on the 3ds?
Dont listen to anybody who tells you to play 3 or 4 first, especially if this isnt just your first Persona game but your first game in the SMT series. PQ is absurdly easy to get into with no prior attachment to the characters, but P3 and P4 are kind of hard to stomach without some prior knowledge or something to build on.
I hope there isn't, the world shouldn't be able to handle two games with gameplay as shit as CC's at the same time
Why out of all the Persona games there are you chose Q. It's all fan service and you will not understand anything if you havent played 3 or 4 before. Fuck, playing the Arena games as your intro to Persona would've been a better choice than Q
>this is my first time playing Persona ever
>pure fanservice game for the fans of the frinchise
