skellington builds are boring as hell
>not wanting your build to play the game for you
its like you want carpal tunnel from all that inane clicking
>ladder
>posts outdated screenshot
Anyway, what's the best golem and how should I distribute my stats as skeltal necro?
>Can have more than 6 skeletons.
That's just unrealistic, I'll wait for D3 Necromancer desu.
I would love to but I don't think I could play with how low resolution the game is anymore.
>D3
I bet you have that picture on your hard drive.
the ladder is going to be full of cheater so who care
iron golem probably, and just boost skeletons, skeleton mastery, skeleton mage, and revive, and like a point in summon resist
its the most braindead build in the game senpaitachi, you can also put points into corpse explosion for harder difficulties, and a few points in curses if you want
>iron golem
just go clay.
you gotta drop points in all for prereqs anyway, and iron is based on the item you give it, so its independent of its skill investment for the most part, who the fuck wants to go clay
>spent my puberty playing D2 LoD single player with countless hours
>have access to internet years later
>talk with other people about D2 LoD
>"hey user what's your favourite build? mine is the flimflam sorc or zimzam pala with asdf and qwert runewords"
>tfw I didn't even know that runewords were a thing
>get the crystal sword
>"neat"
why not just play cookie clicker at that point
>clay
Why are people spamming this meme
shit that image makes me want to replay now
I always get bored around end of NM though. it's a brick wall of rng if you play solo
im pretty sure clay golem adds a slowing effect that stacks with decrepify, it turns duriel to shit.
>ignores the slow mechanic and crazy as fuck hp
just dupe your runes. it's the only way to realistically play a light sorc solo.
>crazy as fuck hp
Enlighten me.
It can go up to 90k.
>played D2 almost exclusively multiplayer in 3rd or 4th grade
>Klafjas the Leap Barbarian
I'm still not sure why I don't remember catching more shit for that from other players. I can only guess that I was having so much fun that I didn't care about being relatively useless. I do recall fools trying to duel me and getting frustrated because I would just jump away from them, so maybe Leap is PvP spec
>iron golem
>skeleton mage
>you can also put points into corpse explosion
>a few points in curses if you want
you should always put points into corpse explosion. and a couple curses are an absolute must in hell if memory serves. don't waste points with mages unless you somehow have leftovers.
it's not /that/ braindead once you start teleporting into mobs. a careless move and you're dead.
But I am.
Well shit. Is it possible to have a necro built around clay golem with its synergies, corpse explosion, curses and maybe bone spear?
Same. Beyond looking at the uniques and reading about shit like Uber Diablo I still haven't bothered getting into metagaming.
Skellingtons boil down to being a meatwall to help you CE everything lategame.
If you have any kind of gear, you wont need to spend more than 1 point in clay golem and it is still the best.
>tfw thousands of hours in and I still didn't understand half the shit metafaggots are saying
>skeleton mage
Really?
Iron Golem for useful uniques/runewords but it can get quite expensive. While leveling you can dump useless uniques into Iron golems for fun.
Clay Golem for bosses you need to really SLOW DOWN.
Blood Golem for staying alive.
I think all golems do pretty well as 1 point wonders if you have the gear to back them up. Otherwise you can dump a few points into one of them and golem mastery.
Best use for iron golem is to dump CB items in it. If you are rich as fuck, insights.
fuck else are you going to spend points in?
You basically only need corpse explosion and some curses, after that you have an assload of left over points anyway, what, are you going to put points into bone shield or some shit? lmao
Diablo build names and general slang must be the most retarded thing ever. I get that most of it comes from having limited as fuck game names so people had to get creative for their trade games.
>skeleton mages have weak looking missile spells
>put all points into summon mage and mastery and hope for different looking spells
>mfw they look the same and the description doesn't even give damage numbers
>don't waste points with mages unless you somehow have leftovers.
Basic summoner is 20-20-20 for skeleton skills, 1 in everything else, except the couple spells you can skip in the poison tree and remaining points where ever the fuck you want. Usually it's CE because that thing is possibly the most OP skill in the game considering it works without any synergies.
Revive.
should I pirate or buy it?
>get to Hell hardcore ladder
>ZERO FUCKING GAMES
I really need someone to rush me Act 3 and on ;_;
Let's at least all meet up in a channel
Pretty much, rest is between CE and revives.
You can literally buy this game for piss cheap in any shop and redeem the keys on battle.net
what is a good time to really start pumping CE? I always try to focus on skele skills in normal, since necro is so front loaded on skills it can be hard to determine what to fully focus on at first
I once saw a paladin build utilizing crushing blow runewords and items to kill ubers at sanic speeds, but I don't remember the build anymore. Can anyone help out?
well the description would be irrelevant because they deal irrelevant damage
but reason it doesn't show numbers is because theres 4 different damages, each type does a different damage range
but its pathetic:

I used to think Necro is pretty fun as a summoner build but I enjoyed summoning as druid way more. Not only do you get a pretty great set up with the Druid summons, you can also back it up with Werewolf/Werebear or elemental spells. It just works together so well imho.
Who the fuck plays D2 anymore? Jesus Christ that has to suck ass. If there was a d2 server at 1.09 I'd be there for sure. That was when d2 was actually very popular and fun as fuck. Before they gave everyone teleport with enigma. Before all that garbage fucked the game up. Before synergies. Back when we could make legit hybrid characters. Anyone remember hybrid zons? Got some javelin rape for hell cow clearing and then piercing missle PVP domination. God damn good times.
Back when a shaftstop, vamp gaze, and ballista was all you needed to kick ass.
Welp, I am going to reset my skills after act 2 and go full golem/decrep/CE then.
0 hell classic ladder games on east right now too
and most of the top 100 ladder char names are obvious clusters of bots
and I'm still top 100 in ladder despite only playing for 8 hours when the reset occurred and nothing since
How do I make a good MF character? I have 131% with my merc (86 + 45) combined.
Probably in early hell / late NM
golems don't scale well with skill points past the first
same irrelevant damage scaling
curses don't scale well with skill points either, some of the worst scaling in the game, 1 point is enough when you get +skills from gear
corpse explosion is a fine skill to max. Otherwise you need to choose between maxing skeletons/revives/mastery, or poison skills, or bone skills. Necros might be a cool character but theres only 3 normal builds that are viable (theres crazy offshoots like melee necros with endgame gear)
your merc's MF only counts if the merc deals the killing blow
what was the better loot grindan game in its prime? Phantasy Star Online or Diablo II?
I'm playing through Grim Dawn now
First two things to max should always be skellies and skel mastery. Alongside picking one pointers in useful curses and clay golem. After that you can take the other golems, start putting points into mages or get some points in CE.
You won't really have the mana to spam CE before you get an Insight so focusing on the skellies is better early on. They also clear fast enough without CE on normal and nightmare.
It's called the Smiter. It's sort of a low investment build that you can do with almost any paladin build as long as you have the gear to swap into Smiter mode.
Hardcucks rekt
>clear everything the game has to offer
>never even bother with rune words
>mfw watching people bitch about things like "gear scaling abilities" in D3 when nearly everything they bitch about was in D2 as well
The difference is that Runewords aren't "skill x deals 200% more damage".
Yeah but +1 to X Skill is the same thing with a different nametag.
any necro friends want to trade?
this bitch would buy me pots for the rest of the game
Each skill scales differently with levels and +1 level does barely fuckall to most skills.
Is there a Necro/ some sort of minion master class?
...
Are you memeing?
That wand is shit. Sell it to a vendor. (each act on normal adds +5k to the maximum money you can get per item from selling. NM and Hell add another +5k each to a total of 35k at Hell)
And almost all of them that you slap on skill rank gear for are ones that just get more damage, because relying on gear to roll that skill up you need for a critical part of your build isn't as feasible as just putting the points in and trying to roll that gear as something else.
The actual number of ranks on the gear is irrelevant, the point is that skills had scaling from gear in Diablo 2, and people whining about it are retarded.
I believe occultist and shaman have summoning abilities
cool thing about grim dawn is you get to choose second class midgame and it's up to you how much and into what skill you invest in your second class skilltree
Not meming, just new to multiplayer. It would be useful for a low level necro, right?
at the very begging of the game, yes
>just new to multiplayer
Oh okay. I wish you all the luck trying to pick up on the horrible multiplayer slang used by the community.
>It would be useful for a low level necro, right?
No. It has 3 shit skills on it.
A low level necro would want +3 Raise Skeleton or +3 Bone Spear depending on the build they're doing.
boy I'm so ready to have bots play the game for me!
wtb burrito cannon 2soj
>The actual number of ranks on the gear is irrelevant, the point is that skills had scaling from gear in Diablo 2, and people whining about it are retarded.
Diablo 2
>improving gear over time gets you more +skills
>you steadily grow in power
vs
Diablo 3
>be useless
>until you get your full set
>then explode everything without any effort
Balance in both games is ass but if you're actually trying to argue that itemization and how gear scales your character is the same in the two games then you're retarded.
>tfw poison nova necro isn't a thing anymore
it is
Because I don't play garbage games.
I don't know about now, but a few years ago you could still find classic games if you went to some private channels.
It was pretty common for people to run 2+ characters and have enough cdkeys to swap every 10 cs runs so they didn't get realm downed.
there are botted games on classic right now in hell and thats literally it
3 bots running cs run #874
Try channel op hccl-
And that faggot din that was in the vidya channel last night is still a faggot
Should I just pirate D2 for singleplayer fun?
why do people even play classic when expansion exists?
its just less classes, less items, less stash room, less areas, less quests, less everything
because classic is a totally different game
it is harder, items actually have flavour because rares are the best instead of grinding for the same exact set of uniqs/runewords that everyone uses
This. Barbs are much better overall and duels are pretty intense with no enigma. I can count on one hand how many LoD chars I've made over the years
Yeah, it's still a fun game. Singleplayer gets you away from the sea of bots.
>it is harder
lmao no it isnt
you scrubs that say "ezpack ezpack" are just projecting your insecurities
classic difficulty is a joke. You can have a sorc on day 2 of ladder with 1000 hp, 75% chance to block and 95/95/85/95 resistances who can just afk face tank any boss in the game and spam them down to 5% hp with static and kill with an orb.
monster hp, damage, resistances, abilities, etc on classic are all incredibly pathetic, everything dies to 1 frozen orb that deals like 300 damage a bolt. You even get a free +50% base resistances. And you don't need to spend any points in dexterity for max block, just slap on a twitch and any block shield or cast holy shield lmao, spend 100% of your points in vitality.
too bad classic didn't keep the old system without synergy, and also iron maiden curse in CS
I agree with some of what you're saying but you have to take into account the gear differences. You dont have stupid shit like a + skill fcr belt in classic. There's also no way to get stacked res like that in 2 days unless you're very lucky and mf up the entire itharas set and darkglow
LOD is fine, the big problem with the game is the patches that came when Blizzard took over when Blizzard North shut down
1.10 is when it started to go wrong, Enigma is so fucking bad
Iron maiden in cs didn't do shit but make barbs stand around for bo
>corpse explosion is a fine skill to max
additional points only increase the cost and radius though
irathas, shard, twitch, some rando fcr rings
these are the kinds of items you can farm in normal cs runs lmao let alone botting nm andy/meph/diablo or running a hell cs overnight like people already have been doing
all those items are cheap and easily traded for on day 2 of ladder and worthless on day 3 of ladder
face it, classic is way too easy. Just static field alone letting you kill any non-light immune unique or superunique or boss is ridiculous.
getting a bigger aoe on a curse doesn't accomplish anything if you can just cast it twice and tag each monster and now no reason to cast it again
but getting a bigger aoe on your primary damage spell is very worthwhile
same here
only
I never even managed to beat any difficulty after normal.
Once I beat the game I just stopped playing, I mean, I beat the game, right? Time for new character!
One day I'll get the game again and reach hell
You act like static isnt in LoD and you can't farm shit up like spirit or a vmagi just as easily
...
static is capped at 25% in nm and 50% in hell in LoD
in classic a level 6 sorc can zerg rush down hell diablo by just spamming static and finally hitting him with some 1 damage charged bolts too finish him off
static trivialized classic
Oh no I have to right click 4 more times in LoD big fucking whoop
I get mad lag from Sweden to EU servers for some fucking reason.
I get mad lag from Australia to USeast for some reason
