Its the black friday sale and im unsure which game to pick up any suggestions
Xcom 2 or The Witcher 3 Complete edition
witcher 3 senpai
xcom2 was a significant downgrade from 1, mainly because it forces you to make bad decisions due to time constraints, rather than tune the difficulty up a bit
I know I need to git gud but I just hate time limits as a design choice. It seemed really lazy
witcher 3 senpai
thanks for the advice what makes xcom 2 so bad
I think the aiming algorithm or whatever they used for aliens hitting you/you hitting them is worse, or at least it seems more bullshit than the first one. And the time limits bug me.
It's not that it's "bad," but I think it's worse than 1. And it's definitely not better than TW3
can you explain this timer thing ?
In a lot of the scenarios you have a certain amount of rounds until A) a ton of enemies start spawning in and it makes the game harder or B) you straight up fail the mission and anyone that isn't in the evac area is just fucking dead. Even if they're right next to it but can't get in the square. It's really stupid.
witcher 3
That time thing is a deal breaker for me i had no idea i think im going to go with TW3
Xcom 2 is great, and has a shitload of mods for it.
It's either that or slow overwatch creeping across the map. It's a good way to get players to stop being pussies. I've played through Commander Ironman and only lost a single soldier, it's not bullshit in the slightest.
I just don't like the pressure of it. If it didn't have a time constraint (or one that was so harsh) I could have the choice to rush or take my time. With time limits I only have one choice.
There are mods to remove it on the workshop it if you feel so inclined.
Oh neat. I might pick it back up then.
don't listen to the shills, xcom 2 is pretty great. It's definitely different from the first game but both do things very well.
I hardly notice the timing sometimes on some of the missions. Just don't dally and it's fine.
witcher 3 complete edition will keep you busy for 200 hrs
have fun not having a life
Xcom if you wan't actual gameplay. Witcher if you want a poorly written movie.
Pretty much this, but Witcher 3 is still worth getting at some point. Also this choice is entirely dependent on wither you have played an Xcom game before or not, if not you may hate this gameplay because its so alien to you, its unique to its own series, if youve played any open world game or RPG, Witcher 3 will feel instantly recognizable.
Some people hate the time limit.
Never once ran out of time, people who struggled with it are the people who did nothing but overwatch spam in the other games, and brought entire squads of snipers to do it and complete an entire campaign without losing a single person, you cant exploit that shit anymore, I hate that this is seen as a negative.
fuck man you described my X-Com playstyle. I certainly hate losing one of my men. I gave them names for fuck sake!
Doesn't matter, the time limits were artificial difficulty.
Instead of increasingly powerful enemy reinforcement waves forcing you to retreat, you get a set number of turns before your squad is wiped even if they were all one square away from the evac. It's stupid, but the real stupidity was putting it in almost every mission.
