Only thing the PS4 is good for is Bloodborne

I only bought Guilty Gear, Destiny, Skull Girls, and Titanfall 2. The rest were already on my brother's account and I got them all for essentially free. Plus, we did this thing where we can both play online against each other using his account. We agreed to split the cost of the yearly subscription, and share all the perks of PSN.

I don't see why Sup Forums has shit on this console so much yet raises the WiiU as something worth buying, especially since I'm coming at it as a WiiU owner that missed out the PS3 last get.

Listening to Sup Forums is usually a bad idea. PC gaming is definitely better but the PS4 is a great platform too. We have a lot of the same games it seems. All the ones you listed have major discounts from now until Sunday FYI. I'm buying Doom, MGSV, Mad Max, and Ratchet and Clank tonight about about $80 total. Primal is a pretty shit excuse for a Far Cry game though. Look into buying Hitman, Dishonored 1&2, and Furi.

The species designs will be shit, as will the new lore written up. Gameplay will be simplified, what class you pick won't matter. Characters will be shallow as shit, just like they were in 2, 3, and Inquisition. Expect a rehashed story from what we had in 3, "Hunt down this ancient super-weapon to destroy the unstoppable enemy." Vaults will serve as MMO-style grinding spots which will tie into the crafting system. Speaking of that, thanks to the unending autism pouring out of Minecraft, Bioware has decided that the last N7 will need to craft his own gear with what he can find in the field.

For FF, just look at the leaks and what we've seen so far.

I just got a PS4 Pro and when you list those as the only games I can play that aren't on my PC you are giving me serious buyers remorse.

I can play the majority of those games on my One, which means there is literally no reason to get a PS4 over an Xbox.

But I grew with Nintendo too. My first console was a NES back in 93, and I stayed exclusively to Nintendo consoles until last gen where the Wii's shit library forced me to buy a 360. This gen, I buy a WiiU, and halfway into it, I buy a PS4. I'm probably the biggest Nintendrone out of anyone in this board, as I've been a massive Nintendo fan for years, but even I can admit their flaws and shortcomings.

Get out of here, Guilty Gear is easily the best fighting game out there. I used to play the shit out of XX back in the day at my friend's house.

I've never played a Far Cry game, and Primal seemed unique enough. I'll look into those games, thanks. I just need to buy a new HD first, mine is already full. And yeah, I get the PC gaming enthusiasm, but there's also a lot of games on PS4 that are not coming to PC ever, and not only that, but I got my PS4 for $179, I would have had to pay at least $500 for a meaningful rig, you can't beat the value. Sure, the games don't run as well, but for that price, it's totally worth it.

I just don't get people saying PC+WiiU master race, when WiiU is already emulatable on PC, and it honestly didn't have all that much to offer. Only Smash, Splatoon, Bayonetta 2, and MonHun were worth while imo.

Most people have PC's, thus multiplats doesn't matter at all. On top of that, I don't want a weak console like the PS4.

You can't play Revelator or Gravity Rush, or Bloodborne though, and as a fighting game enthusiast, Revelator alone makes the difference for me when having to make a choice.

I've never played a Mass Effect game before, so I'm interested by Andromeda. And the leaks for FFXV have been mostly positive. All the people who've played it early have said the game is good. Not Amazing, but still really good. So long as it's better than the disappointing shitfest that was XCX, that was fine with me. Especially since I'm not paying for it, my brother already preordered the Special edition.

Finding the game for cheap on console is a good enough reason.

All 3 consoles sucked ass so I haven't bought any of them. I had a PS2 and a Gamecube and that was the last consoles I bought. Now I expect more from consoles. I will probably buy a NS but it's because Nintendo's games run at 60 fps and not 15.

Sup Forums has been spouting the WiiU+PC master race meme all gen. I would have agreed two years ago, but considering the recent turn of events, and all the games the PS4 has ended up with, there's no way this is true anymore.

Yet the "PS4 only has Bloodborne meme" continue to get spouted, when honestly, as a WiiU owner, I'd tell anyone looking to get access to all the games this gen at the best value I'd tell them to go PS4+PC, get the Dolphin and Cemu emulators, and keep an eye for how the Switch performs, perhaps get it late into its life if it succeeds and they can get it for a good price.

I do have a PC, but i can feel this user. More and more people are going to buy tablets and other devices to browse the internet.

I have no reason to take my office work home with me, and if it were not for organising my music library i would never touch the thing.

I did get some use out of it when i got one steam game. Undertale. One game.

Unless you care about MP, and considering current gen wants you to pay in order to play online you shouldn't, best course of action is to play last generation.

There's a lot of exclusives out already on PS4. Console exclusives that won't come to PC.

As for the Switch, if you didn't get a WiiU, I'd say it'd be a decent buy, but I'd still tell you to hold off on it. If you have a gaming rig, you can already run Cemu, just get that instead. The Switch is still very much a gamble for Nintendo atm, and there's still a chance it'll flop as well.

If it comes down to PS4 or Switch, I'd tell you to get a used PS4 for less than $200. and hold off on the Switch till it's halfway into its cycle and we see how it performs overall. My two cents at least.

I'd wager most people do care about paying less for games on average, even when you ignore deep ad regular discounts on PC. While the "it's more expensive than console", even when you factor in a TV that most people conveniently forget, your PC will pay itself back over and over through games. Not to mention you can just fucking pirate them and put those $60 in your pocket each and every time.

Again, I care about performance. The PS4 isn't powerful enough. Why should I buy a console that can't run games properly? It has Bloodborne and that's it. The FFXV is bad apparently. Nioh looks interesting but it's hardly a system seller. The PS5 will receive remasters and will run these games at 60 fps no problem so again, why buy the PS4 ever? In my book all 3 consoles were shit.

What do you mean TV? EVERYONE has a TV. EVERYONE. You can't just add that to the cost. Especially since with PC you'll need a TV or monitor too, a desk possibly and a chair. Consoles are meant to be played on the couch. Always have been.

You can buy a PS4 for as low as $179, you can't build a rig that runs as well for that low. In fact, building a computer for less than $500 is downright stupid, as you would never be able to upgrade it. The Mobo and PSU would be your limiting factor. Not to mention the cost of OS, and a windows license. That too adds to the cost. Likewise, while PSN might cost $50 a year, that price is negligable when you consider the fact that many games go down as low as 75% discount if you have a Plus subscription. That brings down many games to as little as $9 in many cases, that's a really really good deal and matches what Steam offers. When you take into account the fact that consoles last about 4 years per cycle, $200 (4 years of subscriptons) + $179 for the console is STILL under the cost of building a rig.

A PS4 is a really good budget option for gaming, no question about it. Not to mention games tend to be a lot more stable and you have access to console exclusive titles that will never come to PC.

PC was viable for me as long as upgrading it was cheaper than shelling out $599 for a console (thanks to AMD).
With AMD helping consoles and losing their edge on PC that changed. Then the netbook boom killed low-budget desktop PCs, hardware so became scarce and prices increased a lot.
PC desktops are dead, nobody buys them anymore. With the 60fps meme it entered "high-end audio" territory.

PC had its own developers until about 2007. The release (and failure) of Crysis marked the end of proper AAA PC games. There is no point in building an expensive powerhouse to emulate 8th gen consoles.
