Kojima got fired for it.
Where is the snake hated quiet spammer?
best controls in a mgs (as it's to be expected from the latest iteation in the franchise)
open world is a bit worse than far cry, missions too recicled, meh story, dead multi
BAD BOSS!
>iteation
>recicled
apply yourself young man
Fun game but lacked the kojima charm somewhat, i expect mostly due to time constraints.
Venom didn't care about Quiet.
I will point out this fact in every single mg/s thread until all mg/s discussion dies.
Ground Zeros has the best opening in Video game history
You can survive a shot to the head, but a broken heart always kills.
no technology
no real story
no real point
blind enemies
easiest mgs yet
pointless grind
Big Boss approved.
You are such an autistic faggot
>tfw the last MGS game wasn't about the main snake
nobody asked for this big medic faggotry
It really is very polished.
This was honestly my first MG game.
Do all of them have this movie vibe to them, or is it just this one?

Shit, I read it in his voice
mgs4 had better controls imo
I read somewhere that the cut content included a cutscene of quiet's cringy farewell tape being played on motherbase and all the men, venom included, laugh. Is this true?
Yes. Ocelot's the only one who felt a twinge of sympathy for Quiet, he only joined in the laughter as to not be the one not laughing.
Controls.
And you know, I think it has the foundation of a good game, they just needed to work on it way more. I enjoyed the first ten hours, that's way more than I can say about most games. It really only falls apart in the end where you realize how much they set up that led to nothing, and how the last half of the game is just a hollow shell of a game. If they had delayed this for six more months, I think it would have been great and only "not muh boss" purists would bitch.
>Phantom pain
>Cut off from the world
>Cut off from our legacy
>Like our limbs
>Like all that content
Can you feel it?
Legit answer: The controls, and the VA's who played Kaz and Huey (their names escape me right now). Also driving through the desert with 80's music can be pretty comfy.
Sad thing is I can't list much else without a disappointing anecdote afterwards.
The dumbest Kojima defense force meme that I see is the argument that the game is purposefully left bad, unfinished and unsatisfying so that the player would feel the same things the main characters are feeling.
Nobody fucking makes an 80 billion dollar game bad on purpose. And if Kojima actually did that, he deserved to be fired. Into the sun.
tfw i am a human virus and i will be alone forever because i am unloveable
They're hoping for a MGS2 level ruse cruise. Sad thing is, all they got was a coincidence.
Agreed. It's just hilarious it ended up that way because A major theme was feeling incomplete.
Sort of like how people defend all the dropped plotlines in KLK as being cut threads.
You know what? I think the game would unironically be better, and people would bitch about it less, if all it had was Chapter 1. Just end the whole fucking thing with the cutscene where Sally is at Mother Base and Venom sees Skull Face's ghost. Imply a sequel. I think the same people who paid 40 dollars for GZ and defended it would have defended a 20 hour game that ends with "to be continued in MGSV-2: This Aching Heart of Mine".
Guys, I'm crying right now.
Just looking at him makes me feel something strange inside. I guess you could call it "love". I'm in love with Big Boss. I've lost interest in all guys, besides him. Guys who are considered "hot" by the general female population don't cut it for me anymore.
Big Boss really is all I think about all day, every day. I really do cry myself to sleep at night thinking about how I'll never be with him. If only he knew I existed in this life, if only he knew my deep profound love for him. I know that will never happen though. That is the thought that makes me so sad when I look at him. I'll never be with him, but I'll continue to love him until the day I die.
I just did the fight with the sniper ladies.
I had D-dog with me so it was pretty easy, i expect i must've been alot more fun without him.
thats literally what MGS2fags are.
Its deep because its shit
I lost all hope for a ruse cruise when mission 46 ended and they DIDN'T bring Hayter back to voice the real version of Big Boss. Because most of the ruse hints I saw were built on the assumption that Hayter's meltdown is an act, a part of the ruse, to cover up his involvement. When that turned out to be not the case, the rest of the ruse theory collapsed too.
Think about it this way, Venom knew all of this and didn't care.
This comic still looks worse every time I see it
Learn to draw
>I just did the fight with the sniper ladies.
Yeah, I remember that. A super cool enemy type. That gets used ONCE and never again.
Fuck this game. I don't know whose fault it is, Konami's, Kojimas, a little bit of both maybe, but anybody who says it's not unfinished is a fucking liar.
Mission 46 should have had Ishmael either start out with David Hayter's voice, or eventually slide into it the more the mission progressed.
MGSV-2: Not Enough Whiskey
Kojima had 5+ years and a budget of about $80 million. I suspect the main problem was that he spread himself too thin by working on other projects like Silent Hill during MGSV's development and he had way too many ideas.

>My Pa, he wasn’t ah, he wasn’t a religious man, no. Couldn’t copy it, paste it or post it and he just plain ol didn’t believe in it. That was it. And this one time he headed on up the ol Sup Forums, the Sup Forums board Sup Forums, gone on up with a bunch of Anonymous memer buddies of his. Pretty routine, you know, done like a hundred times before, shoulda been a three day banepost. But on the second day, well it all went fucked. Somehow, at night, he managed to lose his doritos, and to top it off, the mgsfags, they went and took the memes. So he was starving, he was delirious, and he crawls up in this... thread, like this group of dubs out there in the middle of nowhere sticking up in this ocean of shitposts. And he found religion. In that moment, he told me, he found Kek. And it turns out, that Kek, he’s a Quietpost. Yeah, big ol meaty one. "I found Kek," he used to say. "While I was sitting there basking in the sublimity of mercy, I right-clicked and saved that son of a bitch."
>wanting David Hayter back
That guy is a pathetic faggot with no talent, especially after his half-assed performance on Peace Walker. You only want him because of nostalgia. Just imagine how much it would break the immersion of MGSV if you heard Hayter saying the line, "We are Diamond Dogs", with his gravelly cartoony voice that would sound goofy.
Quiet do you need a hug?
He wouldn't have said any of Venom's lines, just the corny ass shit that Big Boss says at the end of the game. It would sound more natural for him to say stuff like "I am you, and you am me. We are him. Big Boss is who we are. Carry that with you where-ever you go" than it did for Kiefer.
revenge is like a two-headed viper. While you watch your enemy go down, you're being poisoned yourself.
I love the entire series but I've never seen anyone genuinely make the argument Kojima intentionally cut content or he was going for that.
If I remember right he was let go from Konami before the game could even be finished and they were doing everything they could before and after his termination to rush the game out.
Close to nothing. They somehow made a worse game than the linear gameplay and convoluted and contrived story of MGS4.
why are we here?
It's simple, really. As with any RPG, tabletop, electronic, or otherwise, the key to survival is allowing oneself to be shaped by the assigned environment. In doing so, a broad range of capabilities are acquired, allowing one to flip the script and use said capabilities to shape said environment for maximum longevity.
stop
I am Big Boss and I saved her and we did anal.
>Nobody fucking makes an 80 billion dollar game bad on purpose. And if Kojima actually did that, he deserved to be fired. Into the sun.
he wasn't fired after MGS2

Being Quiet is suffering.
>I love the entire series but I've never seen anyone genuinely make the argument Kojima intentionally cut content or he was going for that.
It pops up all the time here on Sup Forums.
It's a stupid argument. No one would go through with that unless they were SWERY level insane.
I liked Kiefer's voice work. I thought he was perfect since he was playing an older, "battle hardened" Big Boss, not Solid Snake.
Yeah it was fine for David to play him as a younger version in Snake Eater, but to have him just play the same character all the way through would have just seemed lazy honestly.
The fact that there was no ruse and David Hayter's tears were legitimate.
stop spamming this pasta, you sperg
wew
You're officially an autist.
>He seriously thinks MGSV's dev cycle was REALLY 5 years
If you do your homework, you'd know that most of that money went into developing the Fox Engine, which was SUPPOSED to be used on all of Konami's games to make development times shorter. Then Konami wanted a Metal Gear game to profit off of, so they slapped GZ together as quickly as they could, then made TPP soon after in a rushed manner.
I don't know what you're talking about.
It's just Keifer reeks of Kojima "going Hollywood". Venom and BB should've been voiced by the guy who did Solidus.
That was kind of sad but I think it's even funnier that people unironically approved of Kiefer's shit voice acting.
Go be irrelevant somewhere else, David.
cunt shouldn't have tried to kill him
Kiefer did a good job, the problem is that they barely used any of the lines he recorded, since the instances they wanted to put them in where never developed due to the game getting cut.
There are some ok missions and there aren't many games that offer multiple ways of beating a mission. That's it pretty much. All that budget and it's a worse game then Shadow Warrior 2 for example, what a waste.
Source?
>I liked Kiefer's voice work.
I did too. I don't have a problem with Mr. 24's voice, he did a fine job with the material he was given. But it would have made perfect sense to flip the actors in the mission where it's revealed that the character you played as wasn't Big Boss after all. Have the player go "oooh, so that's why he sounded different, of course, it makes sense now". The fact that they didn't pull that simple ruse that was _right there_ for the picking, means it's extremely unlikely that any other meta ruse was ever planned either.
>ugly
Nigger you just made me get a rage boner so hard I'm bleeding from my urethra.
When I get back from the hospital, I will address this, asshole.
MGS5: The Phantom Pain
allegedly kojima saw the mad max reboot and thought "wow, this strong protagonist is cool!" so he decided to cut kiefer's dialogue.
there's a few cut lines on youtube, but i doubt that's even half of it
the japanese version, interestingly enough, still features snake doing the "A Hind-D?" type of questions instead of just standing there silently
So, no source.
...
The same people that approve of Kiefer are the same people that thought Peace Walker and handheld MGS games were "good."
Kiefer isn't Hollywood though, he hasn't been an A-lister since the 80s.
Hayter was a terrible VA though.
He doesn't have any range, he simply can't show emotions, and he was straight up awful in MGS4 and PW.
That sounds so stupid and autistic.
Not him, but I heard them on YouTube a year ago. Like hell if I remember what the video is called. So while I don't have a source to provide, it is out there.
Hell, the new concept art that was just released should be proof enough that they didn't even get a portion of the shit they wanted in due to time cuts.
...
Hayter being a bad voice actor doesn't make Kiefer a good one. Completely unrelated.
Yes, but that video is entirely formed of dialogue he had with Paz.
> the new concept art that was just released should be proof enough that they didn't even get a portion of the shit they wanted in due to time cuts.
The only thing the new concept art shows that we didn't know before is Chico.
So Chico, Episode 51, and Battle Gear.
It was a step towards it though. I mean it's no secret that Kojima has a hard on for films.
...
Kiefer is a good actor though, and much better than Hayter.
>Hayter was a terrible VA though.
>He doesn't have any range, he simply can't show emotions
Wrong, he constantly did all that, especially in Peace Walker. Kiefer is also good.
...
...
That's called aizuchi. In Japanese, people do it so it doesn't sound like you're ignoring them. It's more of an acknowledgement. While in America it just makes Snake look like an idiot who is asking for more narrative.
The only thing he did in PW was talk like Old Snake, and when he was supposed to cry it sounded as if he was about to puke.
It is, by far, his worst performance, and I seriously don't know how they didn't kick him out sooner.
Them cutting this makes me even angrier than there not being a Skull Face boss fight.
Chief Kief is cute. Cute!
Oh *my*
>So Chico, Episode 51, and Battle Gear.
You're also forgetting Camp Omega, and an ENTIRE Chapter (along with what might have been planned for Chapter 2 that never made it in).
This is maybe one of the worst designs i've seen in this franchise, along with Vamp.
Literally Linkin Park: the character.
...
Gameplay, that game has a shitty story but damn is it fun to play
>Aizuchi can also take the form of so-called echo questions, which consist of a noun plus "desu ka". After Speaker A asks a question, Speaker B may repeat a key noun followed by "desu ka" to confirm what Speaker A was talking about or simply to keep communication open while Speaker B thinks of an answer. A rough English analog would be "A ..., you say?", as in: "So I bought this new car"; reply: "A car, you say?".
Fuck. All these years people were making fun of Snake repeating everything said to him in the form of a question, and it never came up that it's just some dumb Japanese thing.
...
>Kiefer is good
i have seen the making of mgs1-4 documentaries on youtube and it seem lik kojima and his team just find out whatever the think is cool and put it in the game
>oh this flamengo dancer is cool well make him in the game like vampire oh and hell walk on water because matrix
>this move good soundtrack i want in game can you make same soundtrack in my game?
