So I told Atlus to save the JRPG genre....and they actually did it! The absolute madmen!

>English dub only
>saving the JRPG genre
Enjoy your cringefest

So have you been living under a rock or what

>doesnt know about dual audio

>Altus
>dual audio
Pick one and only one.

blog.us.playstation.com/2016/11/16/persona-5-launching-april-4-2017-will-feature-dual-audio-on-ps4-and-ps3/

Why is Sup Forums full of literal retards? go away

lol, I'm sure it'll be proper dual audio.
it'll be just the same as ultimax's """dual audio""" where the battle voices are japanese and everything else is english.
given that the whole game isn't subbed, I doubt they'll have the whole game in jap.

Wow man i cant wait to play a game about a bunch of kids and some kind of animal trying to take down the code geass dude

nigga, you play as the code geass dude, you don't take him down.

>save JRPGS
>by making a glorified dating sim
If Atlus were serious they would make a new, non-shitty, mainline SMT and release it on PC.

>a glorified dating sim
Yup, you haven't played P5.

>If Atlus were serious they would make a new, non-shitty, mainline SMT and release it on PC.
lol

wtf i love persona 5 now

>release it on PC.
yeah, if they were serious about losing money.

It's fun, but not *that* good. It's better than Persona 3 and 4 at least.

Well Persona isn't a dating sim, and if they are, they're really shitty at it, but they are basically social sims and verge more on being a visual novel with each new game. The thing with Persona 5 though is that it actually has good dungeons, so even if you don't like all the other bullshit you can at least have fun fucking around dungeons and fusing Personas.

>verge more on being a visual novel with each new game
If anything it's the opposite. P3/4 are far more visual novel than P5. P5's got much more "interactivity" in it, and it has far more cinematics than VN styled scenes. P5's also got a much larger focus on gameplay, with like you said - good dungeons, but there is also more time spent in dungeons and the gameplay:story ratio is more balanced.

>Sup Forums suddenly hates Persona now that it's popular

Stay predictable you fucking drones.

Yeah it is more balanced, though outside of dungeons there are so damn many cutscenes sometimes it feels like a VN. I think there's more dialogue in P5 than ever before. There is more to do now at least, like you said.

Has it thoroughly been confirmed to be better than Persona 4 by the fanbase?

By anyone with a brain, easily.

Don't know what the fanbase thinks, but I think it's a lot more fun.

That's not Etrian Odyssey V

Glad to know that P5 will be getting dual audio.

Still unsure what Atlus' end game was with those surveys they had about localization, it's almost as if they didn't even care about the results.

>That's not Etrian Odyssey V
Hate to brake it to you, but EOV fucking sucked dick.

Who would imagine
That Atlus would sit at the jrpg throne in my lifetime

anyone would've seen this coming

They're both pseudo-galge but P5 has more girls than P4

So yeah, that would make it better.

The only thing that Atlus needs to do now, is to find a way to axe the high school setting (because that shit is getting a bit too cliche for japanese entertainment) without sacrificing what makes people like Persona (that is, waifus and daily activity management)

Once they find this formula the sky is the limit.

But will they ever make a best girl ever again...

In P5, the high school shit is present for the first dungeon since it's plot relevant, but after that it's nearly non-existent.

good

>find a way to axe half the reason otaku buy these kusoge

Might as well axe the waifu shit too, really drive down those sales.

>Persona 4.1
>saving the JRPG genre
It's dead, chief.

but thats the thing chie bro - best girl stay best.

the younger crowd will have their own girl

High School setting isn't the reason why Otaku buy these.

It only provides the environment that Otaku likes

epic

Is the story good though? What's the thene this time?

>half the reason

The other half obviously being the dating sim.

>Is the story good though?
as good as 3 and 4
eg. mediocre

I'm surprised that they don't use office room settings more often

Chie is garbage

Because they hate the office. They want to go back to high school with their little romances and class idols and cultural festivals and clubs.

Naoto is Chie made better, that´s a fact.

Atlus will never ever make a game with 2 shorthaired tomboys. Why even continue supporting them ?

I only just started playing Persona 4 (my first) a week ago. Currently have just rescued Kanji.

>waifu shit? Pfft. Whatever kid.
>play game.
>the trio of friends before saving yukiko is nice.
>i actually find these two charming
>start haning out with Chie
>lunch and stuff
>she gets all affectionate one day and gets the animu rosy cheecks and fuck me eyes
>feel my dick stir irl

What is this magic?! I suddenly enjoying the day to day shit more than the dungeon stuff, and im working to make sure my protag cums in Chie and totally mugging off yukiko at every opirtunity. Its so obvious the game wants me to chase her instead.

nah, it's being a friend sim.

Get ready for Persona 6 to be in college
What's Japanese college like, anyway?

>dlc
they're just bullshitting you retards
>oh sure we'll release japanese audio as dlc
>lol jk suck my dick weebs, choke on it

Reminder that Persona 5 is the next one in the line to enter aboard the PC/STEAM hype train.

Like high school but with more depressed and distant people.

Joking, its just like ours , but with less sex

>persona's target audience is teens
>a bunch of adults complain that it has high schoolers in it
lol

I can't unsee the fact that she looks like Drake from Drake & Josh.

Im sorry user, but yukiko turned me off her in 40 seconds i met her with that "w-what are you saying B-BAKA!" Bullshit. Chie is actually fun, and desu i fucking love tomboys.

Hard to get in, easy to go through.

you forgot your umaru

>target audience is teens

No, the target audience is adults. The target audience of galge, especially high school galge, is always adults.

Yukiko is garbage too
Rise and Naoto are the only worthwhile girls in the party

>saving JRPG
>dating simulator

Wew, from top tier shit like Suikoden 2 and Xeno Gears to THIS?

How JRPG's have fallen

Yukiko is wife.

>Chie is actually fun
>DUDE STEAK LMAO
>I'm mad at you Yosuke so I'm gonna crush your balls now!

To each their own I guess

Target audience is salaryman who want to remember the high school days. The only time they ever had fun in their lifes.

>there are people that actually prefer P4 over P3

>Suikoden 2
The entire Highland side of the story was massively underdeveloped and the game needs a Jowy Mode or some shit + some actual difficulty for it to be top tier.

> Xeno Gears
Disc 2. Also Disc 1 was just alright, the protag was very likeable and the battle system was interesting but that's all.

>i like muh edgy game

Its all moe shit, but i think muh dick! will only accept Chie. Short hair and the tracksuit. And the other tomboy seems a bit robotic. We will see.

Martial art tomboys are just to good irl

>released on PC
PCucks BTFO again and again, go homo is on consoles now what are you going to do?

>Disc 1 was just alright
It's no where near as good as alright. The music and visuals are grating and the combat is just spamming deathblows, may as well be auto-attacks. One of the only JRPGs I've abandoned before the quarter-mark.

...

P4 doesn't take all thw way till November to make you give a fuck about the plot.

P4 don't make the normal bosses more interesting and stronger than the story bosses.

When you are the leader in P4 you are the ACTUAL leader who gives orders and directions instead of everyone fucking everyone around in P3.

No hundreds floors of the same shit

>P4 doesn't take all thw way till November to make you give a fuck about the plot.
>implying

If we're just talking dungeons, then both games are absolute shit.

Don't be so dense. Both games are bad as far as dungeons go, but there's a fucking huge difference between the piece of filth that it Tartarus and P4's dungeons.

But with P4 its less annoying, you aren't in the same dungeon for like hundreds of floors with the same shit

People who complain about being stuck on the same floors of Tartarus for weeks are silly
>rush through floors until the boss
>try to fight boss
>if boss is too strong go down a floor and grind a bit
>if boss isn't too strong rinse and repeat
>reach the barrier in a few days

updated

It's really not a big difference. They're still generated mazes with no puzzles or anything.

>with no puzzles
This isn't Zelda you fucking idiot.

>not on PC

Garbage.

Even Atelier Firis is better, at least this one will be playable at 60 frames per second on PC.

>just go grind a bit
>its not bad
lol

Puzzles aren't exclusive to zelda games you invalid.

this is a fucking JRPG
it's not about puzzle solving

Ones less tedious than the other unless you're brain damaged

>if it was on the PC, not only would we have dual audio at release, but also the ability to mod in our own outfits

P5 has a lot of puzzles, so it seems like you'll have a lot of fun.

>lots of puzzles
Hardly. And they're not puzzles so much as they are gimmicks that take literally no thought.

>beat boss
>can't advance for weeks
>have to fuck around with the school simulator

But this isn't remotely true. Not even for the first dungeon in the game.

>and release it on PC
I fucking would love for Atlus games to be on PC so I don't have to buy a PS4 but SMT will die if it goes to PC

>puzzles aren't common in JRPG's

The theme is oppression. The story is okay but as with the previous games it's more about the atmosphere than anything else.

P5 has dual audio at release already.

>playing Persona
>doesn't enjoy life simulator sections and dungeon sections equally

I have already finished the game. The only dungeons without that many puzzles are the kaneshiro and Madarame's palaces. Okumura's palace is a huge puzzle itself.

Retard
You'd only need to watch 10 minutes P5 of gameplay to refute your pic

Because in P3 some of the characters are real bitches
>slink reverses because i told the sports guy i made plans with i can't come anymore

I felt P5 did a good job of improving on this.
The social sim stuff is still there, but because co-ops (social links) actually give you useful gameplay benefits rather than just an EXP boost in fusions, they feel much more useful and the time management actually matters in the grand scheme of gameplay as a result.
P5 dungeons *can* be completed in one straight run through for the most part, though they do force you to break it up to fight the boss and often times on your initial visit you'll be kicked out before long, but due to how fucking big they are, you'll probably want to take more than a few days to get through them. On top of that, they game shows you a counter until the "deadline" in the top right, making it easier for you to tell when you should focus on beating the boss.
It's not perfect, but it's a great improvement, and for the first time, the social sim stuff doesn't just feel like a side thing, it actually fits with the dungeon gameplay pretty well.

>The only dungeons without that many puzzles are the kaneshiro and Madarame's palaces.
You wat
Kaneshiro's Palace has probably more than any of the others. The cameras themselves (best gimmick in the game tbqh) force you to think before advancing all the time, and the layout is a lot more complex than the preceding ones due to the fewer safe rooms and more labyrinth-like design. Definitely agree on Madarame's having not many puzzles though, but his dungeon was still top-tier for its visuals and gimmicks.

Personally I didn't like Okumura's one much, not sure what you consider to be a puzzle about that one, it's pretty straightforward. The bulk of the "puzzles" are just based on answering silly questions correctly and sprinting across a short distance before the timer runs out. The cranes and stuff all have only one "solution", so you just interact with them and go on your way. Music and visuals in that dungeon were fucking awesome too though.

Its still the same thing though. All they did was change the wallpapers on the mazes, which was apparently enough to get you giddy.

it's not really. it starts strong, but then becomes even more naive and happy-go-lucky than P4 ever was.

The space tubes or whatever you call those were quite annoying for me. Kaneshiro's puzzles are easy if you write down the letters and stuff, but in Okumura's you have to actually think which portal to open in order to get to the objective.

Yes but how many floors? Hundreds of the same shit?

>The space tubes or whatever you call those were quite annoying for me
Good point. Forgot about that part.
Still that was a fairly short segment.

I found the space tubes dungeon the worst. I thought that I was at the end of the dungeon and then I had to go through these silly boring tubes. Worst dungeon.
