He ruined it, bought a Wii U just for this and had to sell it afterwards

>buying a system for this
>not just emulating it

It was like 8 months ago we were far from emulating it :/

And in just 8 months time there is a working emulator.

He understood what's wrong: siliconera.com/2015/07/06/xenoblade-chronicles-x-director-wants-to-focus-more-on-the-story-for-his-next-game/

>In the comment section, Takahashi thanks fans for all of the feedback, and how he actually agrees with most of them. Some of these include wanting a more passionate and rich story, and the fact that the UI was a little difficult to use. Also that the battle system had a bit too much going on.

>Some of the other feedback shown on the page mention how the letters are too small, how tedious it was to invite other party members, how it would be cool to be able to go into outer-space, and how fans want more lively online features in Monolith Soft’s next title.

>“Being several years behind others in the development of an HD title and taking into account Monolith Soft’s company size, there are just some thing that we could not achieve, which couldn’t be helped, but in order to move on towards the next step, there was no avoiding this. And that is the truth,” writes Takahashi.

>Takahashi concludes by saying that he’d like to use the experience him and Monolith Soft have obtained in the development of Xenoblade Chronicles X in order to make his next title something that is rich in story.

I will only emulate if it can play in 1080p/4k and 60 fps.

>open world
No, thanks.

Good luck getting your Ares 90 without cheating.

What kind of PC do you need to emulate wiiU? Give me the price

I'll tell you want you won't have to spend.

360 dollars on a wiiu and one copy of the game.

youtube.com/watch?v=ebh2rnPD9x8
This is run with:
>Intel Core i5-750 @ 4GHz
>EVGA GTX 970 SSC
>8 GB CORSAIR XMS3 DDR3

But it's the best damn open world there is.

Wow I like this guy.

Xenoblade X had a lot of things going for it but it also had a lot holding it back. What it did right, it did very right and I think the team can make a great game. They seem competent.

I think the combat system holds it back. I know people will give me shit for this. People who were fans of Xenoblade but the combat system is going the way of being niche and it's for a reason. It isn't nearly as engaging as action games. A action combat system for this game would have made it amazing.

>first gen i5 can run this

Well fucking shit, I'm guessing my i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz with an R9 290 should run this fine?

fucking hell maybe my i7 6700HQ 3.5GHz laptop could even run this

XCX is the best open world exploration game ever made.

Already got a wiiu
thanks
Good news but still I want to see this game reach its true graphical potential and use cutting edge tech but the Switch is probably not going to be the platform for it. It'll look better but dam if they could somehow turn it into a real MMO on PC optimized for PC it would look insane

Considering CEMU switched from DX12 to OpenGL, AMD cards work pretty well on it.

There are still plenty of bugs with the emulator. So don't expect too much yet. It runs, has some issues with caching still so you'll get frame hanging in unkown zones and cutscenes outdoors.

But it is playable.

>stuck in helping for the new Zelda instead of develloping the sequel.

What about on the aforemention i7 6700HQ 3.5GHz laptop? It has a GTX 950m, so it's got a decent mobile card.

Reading around, it sounds like it should run it decently. If so, that's honestly amazing it's at this level of optimization already.

Where do you download wiiu isos?

fuck off

Why is this only on Wii U? It makes more profit like that instead of multiplatform?

That's the reason the new Zelda looks great.

I find it strange that Xenoblade X has better graphics than it.

Because they're owned by Nintendo.

it doesn't though.

...

Still better than XCX's graphics. Don't know what is wrong with people like you. It was the art design that made XCX world look good.

nintendo emulators are always very quick to appear. it's literally just glorified Wii hardware

paying customers are always the one to be screwed over when everyone else can play the game with superior graphics and no censorship

That's really not why they managed to produce a working emulator. If it were the competition would be in a similar state.

No it's not.

GTAV, Witcher III, even Fallout 4 shit all over it.

>buy my console that is on par with the the ps3 xbox 360

Why is nintendo fucking around so much? Why dont they man up and just make a new great console instead of all shitty portable shit

>Nier Automata
That's an RPG?

Because they never tried to compete with other consoles on the graphical outputs and its never impacted their sales, they have no reason to start now.

By what metric?

X is by far the most interesting open world both from an interactivity point of view and a scenery point of view. The game is absolutely packed with alien life and various things to see and do. Every map hex has something to do in it.

Don't respond to cancer.

Action-RPG (like Kingdom Heart is an aciton rpg)

JRPG don't need to follow that open world meme
I don't want a future where MMO tier writing, gamepaly and quests are dominant

>Kingdom Hearts 2.8
>shit
end yourself.

JRPG were always about quest and open world gaming. It's not because it wasn't 3D that it wasn't open world. Xenogears had a large world.

Fuck off kid

Xenogears was driven by a narrative, having a large world doesn't mean that it's open world
Like a good part of Xenogears is completely on rail even

No they weren't. If that were true they wouldn't be overrun with broken bridges.

Once the Wii-U stops being sold XCX is going to be one of the few games that will Skyrocket in price.

It's not perfect, it's not bad either. Much like Panzar Dragoon Saga.

It's no different. You have the big overworld and some places you visit during your main quest. You fight monsters in order to up your levels as well as looking for better stuff to equip.

>Once the Wii-U stops being sold XCX is going to be one of the few games that will Skyrocket in price.
universityherald.com/articles/50797/20161121/nintendo-switch-rumored-to-get-xenoblade-chronicles-x-after-launch-sequel-might-come-to-future-console-video.htm

It's pretty fucking different, the focus is in a completely different place
What you are doing is pretty stupid, "they have an overworld, monsters and level up so they are the same"

Really, they'd be fools not to port it. A JRPG selling 600k+ on an install base that small is great.

I fail to see how Xenogears is different from Xenoblade outisde its strong story. At the end, you can visit all places with your flying ships. Tell me how is it different, because for me it's just the same but in 3D.

Takahashi apparently is pretty receptive to criticism. I feel like both Xenoblades were him realizing he can't keep trying to make a magnum opus every time and that Monolith needs experience and practice if he's ever gonna complete a dream project. Both in Xenogears and Saga his team was inexperienced and they couldn't handle what they were attempting to make.

There's two Monolith Studios. Kyoto helps with Nintendo's big IPs (Smash, Zelda, etc) in a supporting role while Tokyo makes all the vanity projects.

Who knew the one thing keeping open world games from being great was the lack of pilotable giant robots?

Didn't stop Xenoblade Chronicles from still being expensive as fuck after the new 3ds port

>interactivity
>In XCX

Are you crazy? What interactivity? World is like a cardboard cutout. Tell me, what else is there to do in the world besides set probes, collect loot, and kill monsters.

Compare this to all the shit you can do in GTAV or he'll, even MGSV.

XCX was fucking terrible, and every day we have some shill start a new thread praising this piece of crap as GotY, and every thread I'm gonna bring up the same points to remind you fucks that it's not.

First game was way better. Every thread.

>criticism of a game I like is cancer
Kys drone.

Missed a J

This is the difference

Well the 3DS port was a downgrade, if the game gets ported to Switch it'd be an upgrade

missed some Js

Why does killing unique boss enemies not constitute "interactivity"? What does constitute interactivity to you? Bowling mini games?

A JRPG is a RPG, calling them just "RPG" is fine you retard. Would you complain if I called a car a vehicle instead of calling it a car?

whatis.techtarget.com/definition/role-playing-game-RPG

>World is like a cardboard cutout.
Perhaps the same could be said of all religions. X is just the least cardboard of the cut out so far. The first game are far more artificial than this one.

>Compare this to all the shit you can do in GTAV or he'll, even MGSV.
Such as? Drive cars and shoot random people? You're not making a very compelling point here.

>XCX was fucking terrible, and every day we have some shill start a new thread praising this piece of crap as GotY
Why are you so mad? Did the game touch you inappropriately?

>At the end, you can visit all places with your flying ships
Good job on describing 90% of jrpgs

Man, those EU spines are ugly.
At least the Human Revolution spine isn't a completely different color for no reason.

>thinks Jrpgs are rpgs
>calling anyone a retard

I bet you believe Zelda is a RPG.

I haven't been reading your whole argument but Xenogears never really gives you much freedom with the ships.

The only time you get that flying ship most of the world is destroyed and you only have like 3 places you can visit beside the final dungeon and for 90% of the game you're pretty much on a story railroad.

>I bet you believe Zelda is a RPG.
There's no roleplaying, so I don't see how it could be an RPG.

there's nothing to interact. exploring in this game is just sightseeing, you can't "touch" anything.

i remember when i played Skyrim i just wander into some people house, pick up random books to read and BAM i got a quest from reading a tale in the book. it's side quest about evil bane or some shit i can't remember but the point is that's the kind of open world that worth exploring. same goes to Witcher 3

>The only time you get that flying ship most of the world is destroyed
You should reply. You don't need the flying ships to visit all places. It's already enough when you can go to water.

>Why does killing unique boss enemies not constitute "interactivity"?

because it's still just killing a damage sponge that walking around the map like MMO games

You're playing the role of link and you the player has to decide what he does. You have to roleplay the character therefore Roleplaying Game.

I think you just described why Xenoblade felt so dead and not alive. It looked pretty but it felt extremely shallow and why Witcher 3's world despite having less bimoes and variation felt way more alive and full

>Having the honor of making Zelda great again
>stuck

>ick up random books to read and BAM i got a quest from reading a tale in the book. it's side quest about evil bane or some shit i can't remember but the point is that's the kind of open world that worth exploring
So you mean like that time you find random mim parts out in the wild and it starts you on a questline?

The avatar creation is the biggest issue i have with Xenoblade. I hope they will never do it again + he looks so ugly.

At least I didn't have to play a loser like Shulk this time.

That's something I hope they never do again.

Have you played GTAV?

You can buy properties, set up heists, hang out with the other members, steal cars (obvious), do races, do triathlons, and yes, tons of gimmicky minigames like bowling and yoga, etc, you can buy food, you can explore the city, you can stop thieves, you can sell drugs, you get high, etc.... list goes on.

All of these little things are interactivity that add depth to the world.

Not to mention, the world REACTS to your action. This is key in making it feel alive. You crash into a car, you have hit detection, impact, debris, and the person reacts. You bump into a person they respond to your actions, they're Minot just avatars to talk to and dish out exposition. You go on a killing spree, people run in fear and panic, cops show up, etc.. As you walk around, people can be een doing different things, going about their daily life, hanging out, etc... And GTA has been doing this for generations

None of this happens in XCX. There is not hit detection, your actions are meaningless, the world doesn't react to you, and neither do people, you can't interact with anything outside of pressing A to talk to it, or if it's a monster, engage it in combat, combat which also has zero impact or feel to it It's just flashy and cool

Also of this was also present in the first game, but at least the Colonies felt more vibrant than NLA, and at least you had a variety of civilizations to explore to make the world feel more alive. In XCX, all you have is NLA and that's it, when you go outside, there is nothing meaningful to the world, just a pretty setpiece to go killing monsters in and opening crates.

Even the map and exploration are a step down from the first. Game has you believe you're meant to be pushing the limits as you explore this alien planet, but everywhere you go, someone is already there before you, and having a complete map at your disposal, as you hunt for probe locations kills the sense of excitement you had when getting a new landmark

One where you can read books? There are plenty of quests and secrets in xcx that you have to explore to find. Far more than in fucking Skyrim

>I bet you believe Zelda is a RPG.

Zelda is more of an 'RPG' than most things that label themselves 'RPGS' are.

>At least I didn't have to play a loser like Shulk this time.
Shulk was great m8

That didn't answer the question. You're just saying that you don't like the combat

>I wanted a sandbox to play around in not an RPG
Great job user.

Thank you, Monolith Soft, we'll perfect everything that you left behind from here. We'll make you proud.

>4 hours before getting rekt by reviewers.
RIP.

>fetch quest
>"secret"

not that i like Skyrim or anything but u guys sound fukiung desperate

You should see the ones for PS4, even worse.

>killing monster is interaction with the "world"

Don't make an open world game if it's not gonna be a sandbox. Especially if you're gonna sacrifice story to make it Open world, like X did.

Shulk was the worst protagonist in the series by a long shot.

Even the blank canvas in X was better than his boring ass. The two chick fall for the guy but he's a total loser who is seemingly more interested in playing with sprockets.

Holy fuck blown the fuck out.

But X did openworld better than any other game. Sandboxes are boring as shit.

You've got some wrong opinions user.

>Man, those EU spines are ugly.

What? The plain white US wiiU spines are trash. EU PS4 spines on the other hand eat shit compred to US spines.

how do we tell him?

Not an argument.

That was disappointingly fast, I didn't think you'd give up that quickly.

By making it devoid of anything to do? You literally kill things, "mine" spots they point out to you, and walk. There are better interactions in fucking SNES games.

Zelda has RPG mechanics now so it's by default the best JRPg there is, easily even.

Sorry.
