I'm genuinely interested and have the utmost faith in GG as a developer, despite the reputation they have here and elsewhere. Killzone 2 was the last time Sony allowed GG as much breathing room as they've afforded them for Horizon, and it was phenomenal. I'm confident that the game is going to be fun. And in regards to graphics, no matter what people may say about bullshots (righteously so, mind you), GG has never once failed, even in their lesser games, to make a gorgeous looking title. Killzone Mercenary on the Vita was one of the smoothest, prettiest handhelds games I've ever played. So I'm game.

Also, OP, if you like this sort of world, try out Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Ninja Theory's reputation will forever be in the gutter due to DmC, but Enslaved was a genuinely memorable romp through a science-fiction dystopia. Its story was also written by Alex Garland, who is a talented author (The Beach, The Coma, The Tesseract, 28 Days Later, Ex Machina).

Open world action adventure featuring giant dinosaur and other animal inspired monsters and a bow with currently unknown amount of offensive and defensive modifications.

Its just generic open world trash by a consistently bad dev with beat enemies for once isn't it? No reason to look twice.

I'm intrigued but the devs have never made a game I enjoyed so I'm cautiously optimistic about it.

Is there any plot to speak of or is it just another open world meme?

Yeah this. I don't think it looks shit but there's a number of good PS4 exclusives releasing around that time so I'll be giving it a miss.

There's a plot moving the story forward. I like the premise behind it, but GG have made it a habit to create intriguing overworlds with poor executions of individual stories within them. Anyway:

The protagonist and her clan exist in a world wherein 'post-apocalyptic' doesn't cut it; the world has very well since moved on since 'The Elders' (that's us) have inhabited the world. We, the players, understand the the creatures we're encountering are mechanical, the product of some AI. Alloy and her clan? They regard them as living, sentient creatures, and respect them as such. It's a group of indigenous people living in a world populated by the remnants of a very advanced technology. Their own technology, comparatively, is primitive.

Alloy, predictably, has some affinity with these creatures beyond the norm. Sensing there is more to her than those she trusts are letting on, she sets out to discover more about the elders and her relationship to them. That's as much as we know so far as I'm aware.

Enslaved was great because every time that faggot Tameem Antoniades wanted to put some grimdark and edgy shit in, like having Monkey throw some dude off the plane in the beginning, everyone told him to go choke on a thousand dicks.

I really like the setting and the robo dinos look cool as fuck, but I severely doubt it'll be much more than a ubisoft open world game. I hope it'll have some depth and the combat'll stay fresh throughout the game because the world looks like one I'd want to immerse myself in, but I'm not hopeful.

Gorgeous is not an alternative to great gameplay. The more they show Horizon, the more it looks like a Ubisoft Game.

Only the roll so far looks good. It needs tight combat to win me over. If not it will be yet another great looking but desperatly empty game.
