Koch Media (a huge European publishing arm who works with Square Enix, Atlus, Bethesda, and more) has blacklisted a Spanish medium because they gave FFXV a score lower than the Metacritic average.
>Our score was 0.9 lower than the average Metacritic score, which goes against their best interests. Therefore, we have been blacklisted, and won't be able to publish reviews for their games in the future.
this also explain why the top list of those reviews have so many Spanish literallywho, too.

>and won't be able to publish reviews for their games in the future.
That's a lie though. They simply won't review early copies sent by Square Enix.
Nothing is stopping them from buying a copy on release day and reviewing it. Not that they'll finish the review on time for the audience since it's an RPG
Juan Cox
>and won't be able to publish reviews for their games in the future.
What's stopping them?
I mean, they might not receive review copies, but they can still write a review in defiance.

It's the same as with news. If your review is out after the game releases no one cares anymore. The first one to report on it, gets the viewers and the clicks to cash in on that sweet ad-money.

The fact that Square buys ad space whenever a new game comes out doesn't help.
As long as they are telling the truth about the games it won't be slander.

Of course they're able to publish reviews of their games.

Wait what? Yes they will, just not as fast as others because they wont have the game. No fucking way can SE ban you from reviewing something
Right?

It doesn't mean shit.

>It doesn't mean shit. It means you lose clicks because no one cares about review when the game is out already.

They can't do it legally, but they don't need to win a legal battle to financially ruin them with it. Sony've done that strategy in the past tons before.

They were prohibited from publishing reviews as soon as the embargo lifts, there's nothing about being being banned from reviewing all games or anything.
>Koch Media nos ha vetado hoy la posibilidad de lanzar las reviews de sus futuros juegos en fecha de embargo por no estar de acuerdo con la puntuación que hemos otorgado a Final Fantasy XV.
Shall I read the review as well and see why? Cause obviously you lot are incapable of doing it.

I work in a Game Publishing department so I can roughly tell you how it works for new medias.
First of all we split medias and "Community Sites" into two groups. One is managed by PR, one is managed by "Community". Usually anything small or less formal (i.e. streamers/influencers) goes to the Community Team. The rest goes to PR.
Then depending on several factors (traffic, impressions, country etc.), outlets are tier'd. T1 are our big guys like IGN, Eurogamer (UK), Jeuxvideo.com/Webedia (France), Buffed (Germany), etc. (We deal with EMEA countries). Then comes T2 and T3.
When it comes to review copies (I work mostly with MMOs, so it's mainly codes anyway), we provide them to all Press Sites regardless of the tier. However we also organize Press Events/Tour and slots are limited so these are usually for T1 (and we pick on the T2 list if some T1 outlets cannot attend). We fly over journalists to our Offices either in the US or Asia, so we can't just invite small bloggers and what not.
For certain games when the coverage is really dire and that almost no T1 people are interested about our products we just pick lower down the list, and that's how we sometime end up having literally who's getting interview slots at major Tradeshows like gamescom.
How to be on that list? Well reach out to anyone in the company which then forward your details to PR department and they make the call or not if they should establish a relationship with you.

Wow this review is actually fucking terrible. It's like a long, wordy and very vague essay about the game.
The first third is just wanking/reminiscing about the final fantasy "legacy" and its creators. The second bit is extremely brief and confused descriptions of the protagonists in comparison to other Final Fantasy games and then the last two bits are like really weird and light descriptions of the combat system and graphics.
More like a review it reads like a really big fan trying to clumsily describe a game. It's bizarre, reminds me of indie videogame magazines from the 90s.
Also >p-please don't use adblock! >advertisement for g2a embedded into the site itself >waaaah we got vetoed!
Yeah fuck them. I don't even play final fantasy games and even I think the site is shit.
