as always, Sup Forums fell for Sony's ruse
As always, Sup Forums fell for Sony's ruse
Thank fuck Adam Boyes and his boner for indie garbage are gone.
It was marketing bullshit. Sony this gen has been horrible to consumers. I don't think I'm buying another system from them again and I bought a PS4 Pro.
>Sony become popular so we have to hate them now and pretend to like Microsoft
Sony promised games, they didn't deliver games.
MS are still shit but I do admire the fact that they added backwards compatibility via emulation at no charge.
>Thank fuck Adam Boyes and his boner for indie garbage are gone.
this
hated seeing him talk at e3
>AWW MAN, I PLAYED SO MUCH DESTINY!
>HEY GUYS DO YOU LIKE ZOMBIES!
He was the only sony exec that actually listened to customers..
>pretend
Sony were going to do the no used games thing as well, they literally pulled out of it at the last second to use it against Microsoft
I mean PS4's whole marketing was "at least it's not an Xbox" without actually advertising anything good about the console itself since it honestly had nothing good to offer
>I don't like the games therefore they didn't deliver
Sony being pro consumer has always been a meme. They did a few good things back in the day, but there's always been a fair amount of bullshit. It just shows how fucking retarded brand loyalism really is. People actually believe a corporation cares about them.
>Sony were going to do the no used games thing as well, they literally pulled out of it at the last second to use it against Microsoft
This. They dropped their DRM plans once they saw the massive backlash MS was getting for it.
Its ridiculous that MS's reveal of the Xbone was so bad that they essentially gave Sony a free pass for 3 years.
not what I said; I don't like the fact there's barely any original games for the system at all, it's shocking how little there is compared to their previous sytems - even the PS3 managed to get a decent library of games by the end.
A number of execs and indie focused devs have left Sony recently, including their San Diego incubation teams getting laid off.
Boyes, he did say that he wanted his kids to grow up in Chicago and Dave Lang had the right position at the right time. But Sony murdering their indie squads just before No Man's Sky came out was telling and most of the exclusive indies on PS4 were awful (100ft Robot Golf got destroyed even by people who were friends with the devs).
PSX will be very interesting regarding indies but it's safe to say the Honeymoon is over.
A triple A game costs $200 million to produce nowadays
Sony is shutting down studios left and right and dissing indies because games are so expensive to make and they don't exactly have a lot in the bank
I don't like either of them and Nintendo pissed me off with Wii U and censorship spree.
Boyes did an industry presentation lately comparing the industry to a "Gold Rush" and said when he negotiated the COD deal he was depressed afterwards because it was an insane amount of money and thought what they could have done for it in terms of funding original games or working with externals (Also the even more insane part was they found out Microsoft weren't interested in renewing and never bid on it so Activision got away with a shitload of money for Destiny and COD marketing when Sony could have paid way less. They got played hard by Activision)
It sounds more that what's happening is Andrew House is going Full Matrick and prioritising timed content and big AAA's as the console sellers with a reduction (Or closure) in first parties to a core group and the big loser out of it was the indies because only one or two big promoted indies sell and everyone else eats shit. Easy way to save money. Wait till the next "Journey" comes out on PC and then sign it.
Kinda depressing. But unfortunately the one thing Don Matrick did succeed in was making money, so it works. How's that for a depressing thought.
>But now I'm intelligent enough to see that it's actually Xbox and Microsoft that are REALLY #4theplayers
What new titles does the Xbone have or will have that'll make me sell my PS4 and get a Xbone instead?
Hey guess what little Sony fanboy, there is no law against owning more than one console
>little Sony fanboy
who pissed in your cereal?
This is really good inside info that I would be too lazy to go out of my way to find
thanks
I own almost every console dating back to the NES days. I am not too keen to own both an Xbone or PS4. But considering the PS4 has games i'm interesting in. I'm staying with PS4 unless Xbone has a good library of diverse games that makes it worth it?
they are both horrible and charge you to connect to service you already payed for
fuck them both
It still baffles me how Sony did not capitalize on anything besides saying "lol we arent MS" and still won.
I dont think that has anything to do with Sony though, I think consumers are just becoming much more retarded and dont want to think for themselves.
Hmm... neither of them let go of the game in that video.... just what did Sony mean by it?
So no titles? Thanks, looks like i'm keeping my PS4
There's a summary online but the website's a known snowflake site. It's interesting regarding how even when Sony was in control they had "No idea what they were doing an no one in the industry does" which leads to those sort of insane deals and trying to figure your way through it. They had no idea how to handle the VR pitching, for example.
Better global marketing and rollout along with better PR. It did well in PC markets like Germany but it's started to slow up globally.
It's won the generation but it's just interesting to see if PS4 is at a "Saturation point" where everyone who's wants one has bought one, much like the Wii
Xbox doesn't have anything I want that I can't get elsewhere. Backwards compatibility is nice, but I got rid of 90% of my 360 library in favor of PC.
Holy shit seriously? you better find a fucking link for that shit because I want some damn good proof.
