What are your thoughts on Andromeda Sup Forums? Will it suck, or do you have high hopes?

The original three are some of my favorite games, but I'm leaning towards feeling skeptical on the new one.

The writing will most likely be trash tier

I'm pretty hyped actually. Andromeda seems to be leaning even more towards Battlestar Galactica: Aliens edition, which if we're being honest, is really the entire appeal of Mass Effect anyway

the gameplay of the third was super fun so even if the writing is trash I don't really care. I just want to become the space wizard and rocket punch ayyliens out of the stratosphere

I'm not expecting much out of it, given that its a Bioware game.

At best it'll probably be a serviceable TPS with some decent scenery and shit writing.

Expecting anything even slightly better than shit pumped in your peehole via a dirty aids infested catheter is setting yourself up for disappointment. And even then, expecting what I described is optimistic.

Fair points. My biggest concern is that the characters won't live up to the origional crew. The new ones have some big shoes to fill. Still, the exploration and BSG aspect are appealing to me as well.

ME's characters aren't that great to begin with.

To be fair there's a good chance you're right, but it's already been confirmed that the crew is the centerpiece of Andromeda. More crew-centric scenes, moments, interactions, etc.

I just hope that they're all woven into the story somehow rather than tacked on.

For a game that Bioware has been hyping up for the past 3 years, we still haven't seen much of it. So it's hard to tell what it will be like. My hopes are high, since the game comes out early 2017 (2-3 months away) and we still haven't seen much of it. Not a good sign, imo.

almost all of the creative talent responsible for mass effect and dragon age has left the company years ago. they have the fucking b-team working on andromeda.

the writing in me3 already was pretty bad and DA:I was a disappointment in its entirety, so I don't have any hopes for andromeda being anywhere near as good as the old bioware games.
prepare for a cinematic shooter with cringeworthy writing and lots of SJW pandering.

The lead writer for halo 4 actually made the story for Andromeda so I'm cautiously optimistic..

i have no hope this will be good, after the way i was dissapointed with how a good rpg(mass effect 1) turned into a fps dating sim(mass effect 3), i have no goodwill for the franchise.

ill pay attention to the reviews if they magically pull a good game from their asses ill pirate it to see for myself, then buy it if its good.

Of course it will fucking suck. EVERY Mass Effect game sucked, even the so-called "good ones", and they've steadily become worse and worse with each installation, as has that other Bioware franchise, Dragon Effect. Even if you somehow liked the series before, you should have no fucking hope for this one.

Drew went to work on TOR near the end of ME2's development, left to write his own books and is back at Bioware now writing for TOR again.

I've lost hope in bioware's ability to make a dragon age game, and the company is going in a bad direction, but mass effect 3 was at least good enough to warrant the purchase, even if it was a letdown.
