Hello boys and girls, I'm back in town to leak some more information about Death Stranding. For those who don't know me or weren't here the last time, I'll give you a quick run down (with a picture of the last thread post I made)
I essentially came to Sup Forums to post information about the game 2 days before TGS where anything was revealed. Here I mentioned the following which ended up getting confirmed by the man himself on social media & news reports
>Game design influenced by West World & Predator; story influenced by Time Wanderers & Shutter Island
>Late 2018 release, near Christmas
>Open World environment
>PT like multiplayer where the community must work together and communicate to progress with each other
>Cast members, still currently casting (which ended up getting heavily heavily teased later like Mikkelsen & Durand)
>Types of weapons in the game
And a lot more listed in the pic. I also mentioned the synopsis of the plot and the hint towards the ending. Boy oh boy I have more good news for all you kids just in time for Christmas
Matthew Turner
Are they going to show gameplay?
Zachary Kelly
First things first, an update. I'm not dead yet, thankfully. The thread, while ended up getting deleted, didn't garner any alarm or attention until late October. Then shit really hit the fan
There was a witch hunt on our team and thankfully, Del Toro wasn't able to figure out the person leaking the information. I have to thank the general public as well as the time in which I post these things.
Anywho, let's get on to the news
Lucas Murphy
go on
Oliver King
I'll take the bait.
What's working with Kojima? Also, has he ever commented about MGSV?
Elijah Thompson
Yes
A lot of things has happened since I last posted. First off
Lindsay Wagner turned down the position. She isn't interested in being casted into the video game but is interested in giving advice to the would be actress of "Eve."
Eve's casting was tough. Kojima thought of Ms. Joosten or Gal Godot. We recommended against the two and had convinced him to actually allow us to find someone who fits the role of Eve.
Eve is the partner of Adam, Norman Reedus's character. She is the typical femme fatale and both Adam and Eve are constantly at odds. She's modeled after not only the biblical character, but other characters such as Bionic Woman (Lindsay Wagner's character) as well as the women of Cobra, the animated series (Lady Armadoid and the Royale sisters). In essence, she's the true heroine of this story and Norman Reedus is the true villain. As I've mentioned in the previous thread I've made, you are led to believe the opposite.
Now who's taking the role of Eve? Who were the finalists to cast for "Eve?" I'll get to the mother load of this in my next post in this thread
Aaron Ortiz
>What's working with Kojima
What do you mean?
>Has he ever commented about MGSV?
To our knowledge, no. We've talked to him about it that he's moved on however we have a small surprise for the fans who were fans of one of the actors of that game.
Working on the post, one moment
Kevin Thompson
So if there are only 5 Ludens and the goal of the game is to hunt them down, wouldn't that make the game pretty short?
I don't even care if this is fake as fuck, I like playing along with roleplaying shitposters/leakers
Easton Smith
You should have wrote everything down first before starting the thread.
Sebastian Carter
Continuing on
The role of "Eve" came down to several final women. Penelope Mitchell, Donna Burke, Gillian Anderson, & Blake Lively.
We proposed Gillian & Blake; they proposed Donna & Penelope. While their reasons was that Donna & Penelope were good friends, our reasoning behind Gillian & Blake was that they were established actresses with existing chemistry with the cast. Ultimately, we thought it wouldn't be a good idea to cast people who aren't professional actors as we wanted to distance the association between Kojima & MGS fame.
So we had Gillian Anderson of X-File & Hannibal fame or Blake Lively. To be honest with you, I was rooting for Gillian but unfortunately Kojima went with Blake Lively.
It's better than Gal Godot but if it's one thing I'm upset about, it's that. Then again, our job is to work and help Kojima's vision so there's that. And before anyone asks, our budget couldn't afford Eva Green.
Ryder Ortiz
There are 5 Ludens, however those aren't the only enemies. Each Luden has their own onslaught of minions to fight against. The way the story is scripted is that a mere mortal such as you are climbing a hill to fight God's army of protectors and soldiers. As you can tell from that wording, you are getting the heads up that while it might seem they are the bad guys, in the end you are the bad guy. Ludens act like "cherubs" or guardians of the world. And they are compared to that of angels in a way.
Really trying, I've only posted here once before and the wait time between each and writing things up take a lot of typing.

What other juicy tidbits can you reveal that you haven't said anything about? Do you know who is doing the music for the game, or if Kojima is going to license out the soundtrack?
How is Kojima going to blur the line between TV/movies and videogames if the first medium is a linear storytelling experience and he wants to create an open world action game where people can tackle the story at their own pace?
Josiah Taylor
Question.
Aside from blurring the lines between video games and movies, is there anything specifically groundbreaking or new in this game?
I'd be OK if the answer is "No". But I want to know.
Parker Taylor
Which brings me to the next topic
Benedict Cumberbatch. While we and the rest of us reached out to Cumberbatch, he declined. So that leaves us with more missing spots for the Ludens. However, we managed to not only find a good replacement, but someone much cheaper and better bang for the buck to star in the game in his place
This also takes me to another matter. But before making the grand reveal of the cast, I'll list some elements of the story in the game not previously listed.
The enemies are heavily inspired by Nazis. Borderline inspired to the point where he might've come out implenented it. As you remember, we mentioned Eve wearing menacing space armor decked out in black that had Prussian elements. Long story short, we had to knock some sense into Kojima that if he ever wanted this to get released, any Nazi imagery would have to be removed completely. Putting two and two together, you'll see what Kojima is trying to convey.
The game, besides tackling core philosophical questions such as "Nazi-esque" intentions and if man was truly evil (that is, the snake wasn't the demon); it also tackles the topics of life beyond our world. Not in the sense of harmful entities, but peaceful ones and how the media and government manipulates the masses into thinking otherwise. There's also the topic of suppressed information, specifically scientific accomplishments. I could go on in detail of you'd like
He showers and puts a lot of cologne.
Alexander Wilson
Can he tackle philosophical problems by using the mechanics of gameplay, interactivity between players, and between the game and the player, instead of a bunch of stupid fucking over-the-top cutscenes? I swear, Kojima has so much potential but he de-rails himself every time.
Ryder Jones
>cutscenes are bad
Cutscenes are good if skippable. Telling a story through gameplay is code for not telling much of a story at all. See dark souls.
Kayden Johnson
Don't know about Dark Souls, but Demon's Souls is a perfect example of a story told through gameplay and context. Also Shadow of the Colossus.
I guess it's tough to embed human intentionality within a context that will always provide meaning, but, if this were to be done, it would be amazing.
Christopher Martinez
Low Roar has about 3 songs to my knowledge. I'm not sure if the third one will be included anywhere at all, licensing issues and all. Let alone if the 2 will be in the game. John Carpenter will have a song in there too. We all are still trying to work with Carpenter on the issue of licensing for the video game. Most of the OST is original music, just like his previous works. There's a reason why previous songs in his past games such as Nuclear, Here's to You didn't make it and Elegia did. It's a matter of getting a yes or no in the end.
As for blurring the lines between video games & movies; one of the obvious elements is relatable actors/actresses across the board. The second and most important one, is working together as a community. He's trying to replicate how everyone started debating and tried to solve Inception but at a larger scale. Everyone will be able to go on their own pace, and there's a element of meeting other you's (players) to solve the puzzle and progress further.
It's a game where the entire community will need to come together. I haven't seen a genre like this and it makes other games such as the Darksouls multiplayer element look like child's play.
>Can he tackle philosophical problems by using the mechanics of gameplay, interactivity between players, and between the game and the player, instead of a bunch of stupid fucking over-the-top cutscenes? This is the goal, the cutscenes are laced around the mechanics and gameplay of both the community & individual player. Think, again to repeat, like PT. If you want to progress on, you all need to get on your thinking caps and controllers and play together.
James Jenkins
Thanks taco-kun, say what you will about Kojima but he's one of the few people that actively tries to push the medium.
Jackson Butler
You're welcome. I'm doing this for everyone because there seems to be confusion and I'm not inherently ruining the surprise. There's a lot of stuff I didn't go into previously such as the ending and won't do now. I just don't want fans to be in the dark and people have a right to know.
So who did we replace Cumberbatch with? Ryan Reynolds
He was not only cheaper and provides more value to all of us, he is a fan favorite and already has good previous chemistry with some of the cast.
Also, SURPRISE RYAN GOSLING SAID YES. DO NOT THANK US, THANK REFN. He's due to see Kojima sometime Q3 of next year along with Ryan after he's done with his projects.
Idris Elba will play a supporting role for the player throughout the game
And as for the last exclamation mark, that's a surprise. I was told who was the final person to be casted, and apparently this person already had an arrangement with Kojima long before we came on board. All I can tell you, is that he played a role for the MGS series.
So the role call of the 5 Ludens are as follows
>Luden 1: Mikkelsen >Luden 2: Durand >Luden 3: Reynolds >Luden 4: Gosling >Luden 5: Surprise actor who will not be named that did a role for MGS
Now with that out of the way, I'm open to any questions that won't reveal the ultimate spoiler

Trust us, he knows his shortcomings and will pull it off
Grayson Rodriguez
>No Gillian Anderson
god damn, that's too bad. I'd love to see her get the Kojima treatment *cough* ....and she's also a really good actor.
Brayden Watson
What's the gameplay of this? Shooter? Rpg? Point and click adventure?
Justin Ortiz
Sony owns the IP, Don't get your hopes up but it is possible.
Isaac Carter
>Blake Lively
Was she chosen because she's married to Reynolds?
Charles Howard
If all this is true and Ryan Renolds is in Death Stranding I will shit a brick
Charles Peterson
>floating figure from the trailers are "Ludens" >Ludens is also the name of the new KojiPro mascot (skellyman in a space suit) >Kojima confirmed months ago that Ludens was not a character in Death Stranding
Nice try, OP.
Austin Green
>it leaks nothing or something we already know Nice thread.
Blake Scott
So what's the gameplay like? Is it an FPS or a 3rd person kind of thing?
Nathaniel Fisher
If you read the picture from the original post from the last thread, OP says Norman becomes a Luden himself at the end of the game when he kills everyone
>believing Kojima's Jewish tricks like TPP not being MGS or PT not being related to Silent Hill
>2016

OP is a liar and I dont buy it. Make sure to cap these posts to laugh at this faggot after the PSX proves him wrong

Also guys remember to spoiler potential spoilers, I dont want to get spoiled but I want to get enticed.

He already proved everyone right with his leaks before TGS, if he gets these right then either he's the real deal or he's the reincarnation of kek
Nathaniel Richardson
Compared to MGSV, how big is this gaming going to be?
Brayden Howard
can you provide any more proof?
Gavin Torres
What other cool music will we see in this game? Kojima always finds these bands and puts awesome music into his games and trailers.
Thomas James
Nothing was proven, everyone was talking about Madds since the reveal trailer because Kojima posted tweets of his stuff.
Nicholas Russell

Third Person, there are RPG elements in the sense you upgrade your weapons like the spear and whatnot but nothing grossly over detailed. Interactions between player and NPC are reminiscent to point and click era of Policenauts.
Ryan was an afterthought. We ended up having Kojima choose Blake before we tackled the issue of replacing Ryan. It just fell all in place
All the spoilers were in the previous time I came, in the original pic. Even then I didn't spoil the real meat of the twist
As big but it won't be empty. He has a lot in plan for the open world of the game and they already made a good amount of progress. We saw some more concept work, so far so good
Aaron Evans
would that be Surtherland to play 5th ludens. nice try tho. Death stranding is connected to MGS5 but more towards survive. its all there. konami is helping KJP.
Carter Wood
>DUDE YOU, THE PLAYER, ARE A LUDEN AND SEEK THE HELP OF OTHER PLAYERS WHO ARE ALSO LUDENS IN A META COMMENTARY ON VIDEO GAMES LMAO
Just go to Hollywood already Kojima jesus christ, go see what real art is so you can be laughed back to your nip island
Josiah Rodriguez
This is Kojima, what did you expect
Ethan Watson
Have you met any of the cast yet or have they only been confirmed for the game? If so, what's madds like? I loved him in valhalla rising and hannibal. Seems like a cool but intense dude.

Huh, cool man. Would've been rad to have this suit in first person though, would the gameplay most be like Dark Souls or something? What comes the closest?
Kayden Campbell
iam a MGS theorist. 2nd to python selken. the info you bring is more likely to lead us blind. the truth is Survive is connected to D.S. i can guess the end. you kill Surtherland that so happens that looks like venom. you wake up as solid snake everything is VR.

No? He tried different formats, he tries sending a lot of different messages, his engines are usually very technically good, he utilizes characteristics unique to video games. I'm not saying he succeeds, but he definitely tries to do something different in most of his games.

I really wouldn't like to get doxxed, my info is my legitimacy. So far I'm right, if I'm wrong then I really wouldn't have any legitimacy unless I'm some sort of warlock that predicts the future
Besides Low Roar, John Carpenter for one.
I can't comment on the matter on who's the mysterious actor playing the final Luden that had a role in a MGS series but to my knowledge KONAMI hasn't been involved at all. We are all under the pretense that this is strictly owned by Sony & Kojima. Sorry to burst your bubble
I'll clarify further. The game brings up several meta commentaries >Relation to the environment, that includes earth and space and other entities >Relation to each other via consciousness, i.e. Humans, animals, and others >Questioning if Mankind is inherently good and asking why isn't it inherently evil because it's flawed. >Questioning if religion got the origin story for Adam and Eve wrong; and if the snake really was in the wrong >Questioning whether it's right and necessary to believe the government and not question its authority or historical accuracy ("They Live" film also plays into this) >Questioning Why should our government hide information, and as a result technology from us. Suppressing ages of advancement for the common man
These are the core things Kojima is working on out of the top of my head from our latest work with him.
Really laid back kind of guy, the kind you'd invite to your Christmas party and chat with.
The VR element has a first person view but it's entirely optional. It's a mix of Uncharted & The Division and a polar opposite of MGS. Rather than sneaking to get away from enemies, you hunt them like a predator
He ask Neil for good luck presumably. We are familiar that they're in contact for advice on gameplay but nothing more.
Justin Bennett
>hunting like a predator
Is this the "rope"? I know you mentioned that part earlier. They way Kojima described it originally sounded like a new game mechanic, especially because he used it in opposition to a "club", which I understood as a "press X to kill" mechanic that is super common in video games.
Ayden Thompson
>Rather than sneaking to get away from enemies, you hunt them like a predator That's how I play MGS though
Adam Sanders
What the fuck are you doing? You're cringey as shit m8.
Nathan Evans
Bioshock Infinite already did t his commentary that 90% of people missed.
Elijah Gonzalez
So how big is the biblical theme in this game? Will you meet other notable characters from it?
Tyler Morris
Can someone please screen cap all of this dumbass's post for future reference? I want to rub it in his face when all his lucky guesses turn out to be wrong this time
Chase Ward
That sounds like GOTYbait so much it turned into oscarbait
Because it's a shit game that got rewritten in 9 months before release and player choice doesnt matter in that game in the slightest
Brayden Richardson
Sounds fucking awesome dude, this better not be a ruse cause this sounds like the final nail in the coffin for me getting a PS4. Thanks for sharing bro.
Ian James
Konami my not be in the project but you didn't deny my point that D.S is part of MGS and Survive. konami gave hideo the studio.
Nolan Sullivan
I mean, after MGS V's mess, I'm sarting to question whether Kojima can pull off another "artsy fartsy" deep meaning game with fun gameplay ala MGS 2.
Though to be honest, P.T. was amazing so maybe he hasn't lost much and Konami just screwed him royally hardcore
Ryan Fisher
sorry but i don't think kojima would let this leak happen. he wouldn't tell people about mgs5. when shit was leak he denied it.
Jacob Sanchez

Do you have any info on what the true motif of MGSV was? Or info on the lack thereof or any Konami meddling?

PT wasnt indicative of anything going to happen in silent hills though, it was just as the name said it was, a playable trailer. Work on the game was just spitballing between Del Toro and Kojima and Konami wanted Kojima to focus on MGSV instead of running off to other ideas with their money.
Cant say they were entirely in the wrong

It's part of it; the "rope" also refers to the connectivity everyone will have as a community. Like a thread
Rather than avoiding detection to get to the end point, it focuses on elinating all the targets. The end point is brought around after that through thinking and solving
Big to an extent, As mentioned before the Floating figures (Ludens) are the protectors. By Adam (Reedus/player) rebelling against all what is put against him, he rebels at the very things that are just and right in nature. There's a reason why he has the demon tattoo and the spelling comes out to a Japanese name for "snake eyed person" when connecting the strands on the first trailer. It refers to someone with evil intent, which is Norman. In other words, the player. It pulls a Shadow of the colossus/Time Wanderers on you in retrospect. The real spouler comes to what happens and what is said which I won't ever get into
The trailer coming out tomorrow will be nothing compared to what other plans he has for 2017. This just scratches the surface
