What game lets me be a mastermind?

What game lets me be a mastermind?

City of Villains.

mafia

Dungeon Keeper

Evil Genius

Whats the Westworld of video games?

uplink

Mastermind

what is Westworld even about? Is it worth watching?

robot cowboys
yeah probably

RP servers

jurassic park but instead of dinosaurs its android cowboys on the verge of consciousness

If you like Blade Runner you'll like Westworld.

Gangsters

It was an ok game. Definitely deserves more fame.

It's based on a Michael Crichton movie about a fantastical theme park where things start to go awry. No, not that one.

A park with androids where you can do/be what you want
And yes its good.

You play videogames, and probably have played a mmo before so you'll probably think it'd the most retarded shit, like I did.

Basically, what if we made androids and made them super lifelike and told them that they live in wild west and make people pay to go play in the wild west with androids, at least, that's the concept for the core material. The tv show is the most time wasting needless complexity bullshit. It's like taking a 10$ bill, and locking it inside of 20 safes, yeah, that's a 10$ bill when you get to it, but dear god it doesn't warrent that much investment.

Just watch the movie

It's really well acted and put together, but unfortunately it's a mystery box show. It's best when it's delving a bit into philosophy of consciousness.

Basically it's about Radiant AI coming to life.

It's the only real life acted anime I've watched in 10 years.

dumb fordposter

TIME LINES

>completely missing the philosophical implications of the show
>implying that creating an AI of equal or greater value to humans isn't complex, and wouldn't essentially change everything
>bitching about HBO finally doing a different kind of show that isn't about tits, violence, and soap opera-tier relationships
Are you even old enough to legally watch the show? I mean it's ok if drama isn't your thing, but I don't see how the show is too complex. It's very well done, even the best fiction about androids in quite some time.

its about a themepark full of robots, but its accidentally a neat video game show, since you can RP a person and the robots are effectively NPC quest givers you can kill and fuck (not necessarily in that order) then there's an old man who's playing for 30 years trying to figure out the meta game.

unfortunately the show is leaning towards to a stupid plot about robots having feelings and will lead a revolution of sorts against humans. it was a neato show for about 7 episodes.

It's not leaning towards them having feelings. It's leaning towards them being self-aware, and having actual memories. Of course they have "feelings", they are programmed to. They just weren't aware of their programming, nor could they control their memory.

s01e09 was p dank eh?

Night Trap

Totally redeemed the last several episodes of filler and stalling.

arnold reveal was so fucking L O S T i actually laughed.

AHAHAHAHA

Oh no, I get it, they can't possibly make it more obvious, seriously, the words "and how do you know you aren't one (an android)" and "what's the difference between me and you" are literally uttered on the show, my point with the complexity is the arnold bullshit and the maze, that adds nothing of value and has nothing to do with getting the idea "can non humans have humanity/where exactly is the line between human and non human" across.

shrink ray

>that adds nothing of value and has nothing to do with getting the idea "can non humans have humanity/where exactly is the line between human and non human" across.

How do you know? You must know something I don't. Also, why does it have to? It's supposed to be a mystery.

I wondered about this. More specifically, how did he go from being in a building to being on a moving train without noticing? The park clearly "exists" as we see several characters outside of it go there and back quickly.

Analysis. What prompted this autistic response?

>what is Westworld even about?
racemixing and black dicks

Not him, how was that response autistic?

lol, I noticed that too. Glad she got strangled.

how so?

>mastermind
>posts ford
>not based Maeve
literally /ourgirl/

>"I jus cuck'd dat wite boay out on da porch, he aint gon do nuttin doe cuz he skeerd, haha"
what did he mean by this?

Don't ever compare Blade Runner with Westworld.

now that we have westworld and ex machina we dont really need blade runner anymore

its been utterly btfo

style over substance desu

Crusader Kings 2
Evil Genius
Age of Decadence
Stronghold

>Blade Runner
>substance

It's just slow pace and mood shots. Read the book if you want substance.

why can't we have all three and enjoy each of them for what they are?

i said blade runner was style over substance you retard

impossible. we must always hate on at least one thing at all times.

Because Blade Runner fans are scum.

They literally think their shitty Neo Frankenstein retelling is one the best movies ever made when all it has is it's visuals (and even then) going for it.

>female android starts gaining power
>Sup Forums starts saying it's shit now

never change

Crusader Kings 2

the movie sucked. it was so fucking boring

It has atmosphere and while some of the acting is shit, some of it is decent. As is some of the writing. I'd say it's a pretty good movie even by today's standards, but definitely not a masterpiece.

Yeah, stick to videogames user

The whole Maeve plot is retarded an annoying though

Seen that simpsons episode about itchy and scratchy land? Yeah.

I plan on getting into Westworld after my semester is over.
It's not going to be one of those cliche garbage anti-technology deals is it?

Because I absolutely hate the anti-AI sentiment the West seems to have with its films.
Plus I've been watching Ghost in the Shell quite a bit.

>This robot threatened to kill us
>Better keep doing whatever it wants over and over again even though we have had dozens of opportunities to nip this shit in the bud

I rewatched Blade Runner recently, and while I think it's hugely overrated the final sequence with Batty and Deckard is fantastic. I have to give it that, it ends on a real high note.

It's written by the guy that wrote Spec Ops: The Line.

So it can be pretty good, I never watched it.

Haven't watched the series yet.
What exactly happened that's retarded?

that's not at all what happened, though. Did you even watch the show? Also, we have no idea what the outside world is like. It could be completely dystopic, which would add a lot of credibility to the characters' actions.

1. Ford
2. Man in Black

- power gap-

3. Snekfu
4. Bernard
5. Hector
6. Stubbs
-power gap-

7. Elsie
8. Teddy
9. Clementine
10. Dolores

9001. Logan
9002. Will
90000003. Felix/Sylvester
9999^9999. Maeve

Snekfu got literally cucked by Maeve in the last episode

Can anyone answer this?

I'm intrigued by the premise, but despise Anti-AI plots.

What are you even saying? I'm just pointing out that storyline is beyond retarded, I haven't said shit about the rest because I like all the other stuff.

Some robot girl starts to become self-aware and threatens two lowly mechanics to increase her intelligence to max, give her admin powers and whatever else. And those two all do it even though they've got dozens of opportunities to take her out.
Also no one else in that whole company notices anything until she starts overriding dozens of other androids with her Admin powers.

Some people say it's all part of the company's keikaku, and they're aware what's happening but there are no hints to that and even if it's the case it doesn't make it any less retarded

Imagine if a kid walked up to you on the street and told you to give him your wallet. You are 6 foot and armed with a gun. And if you don't give him your wallet, he is going to tell on you for jaywalking which you just did. That is Maeve's plotline is a nut shell.

Don't be an idiot. The only thing that would explain the actions of Dumb and Dumber is if they're also hosts and part of Ford's plans or something. But if that's the case it's being told in a really terrible way compared to all the other storylines

Pretty much all humans in the show are shit and it's heavily implied AIs deserve to be free.

You miss the part where she's already been tampered with before the butchers do that. Plus, one of the butchers is kind of in love with her.

Mastermind is a safe bet.

it's kino

>Turns out the company employees ARE the androids.

Teddy should 100% be higher up.

>You miss the part where she's already been tampered with before the butchers do that
That doesn't influence the actions of Felix and Sylvester in any way and doesn't matter at all.

The retarded thing is that they're acting all scared and shit and doing exactly what she tells them to do (including giving her fucking admin powers), even though they can lower her stats whenever they want and neutralise the threat.

So, who isn't a robutt is this show?

This list is flawed since either Logan or Will is the man in black

oh that does sound retarded.
hmm, what a shame.

Not really my cup of tea either. That's F04/iRobot (film) level stupidity.
Still I'll give the show a chance.

Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris

Maeve plotline

>Do X for me
>We can't do that, it is against the rule
>Analogy about fucking or DARHLING
>Okay we will
Rinse and repeat

They can't turn her offline and if they start lowering her stats, how do you think she will react? And again, Asian butcher is in love with her and white one is a cuck.

Nobody. The entire park and company of Westworld is actually a subplot of a bigger amusement park called Westworld World

>how do you think she will react?
She won't if they lower her aggressiveness whenever she's not fucking awake or whenever they've got the fucking magic tablet in their hands.
And just saying "he's in love and the other is a cuck" doesn't make it any less retarded

Why would Will be the MIB? He's too much of a goody two shoes to be him.If anything he's Teddy.

>They can't turn her offline
They just said they wanted to fucking brick her.

>if they start lowering her stats, how do you think she will react?
Nothing cause she is too retarded to react.

I am sorry but aside from Company keikaku nothing can explain the retardation of Maeve's plotline. Removing aside the behavior of the techs lets see

>Westworld has multiple incidents of corporate espionage
>Tech somehow has almost free reign on security clearance
>Control room closely monitors every situation
>Someone how missed Maeve fucking around the system for so long

Yeah those shit doesn't make sense

Teddy is probably based on him, but it's clear William is starting to become less of a goody two shoes.
Also the photograph of William's sister (which Logan gave to William) was found in the present day, probably dropped by the man in black.

...

I wonder if they used a black woman as the focus for that plotline so that anybody who didn't like it would be labeled a bigot

this is my entire problem with the show.
it's SO WELL MADE but holy shit are there plot holes the size of texas.

>Maeve

>He's too much of a goody two shoes
Did you not see the last episode? But you're right, if anything, Will is Wyatt

What makes you say this?
I read your post, and thought abut it, and what I actually want to know is, what makes you think this?

I assume it's because you've heard so many people talk about how great of a movie it is, and gotten sick of the constant praise. I hate to use buzzwords but this argument is dripping contrarian.

I would say that the final cut is somewhat hamhanded by making deckard a replicant, and the other cuts have their obvious flaws, but really? All it has going for it is visuals? That's it?

Also your post seems to imply that Frankenstein isn't good. Am I reading incorrectly? Do you actually think this?

> your reaction when in the finale maeve leads her robot uprising against delos but ford walks in and says "that'll do maeve, rip yourselves limb from limb" and walks out whistling a sonnet

Do people actually prefer it when they're treated like children?

Did you miss the most recent episode?

He literally eviscerated every single confed in the park with a single knife.

Would make all the previous scenes with the two butchers needlessly convoluted when Ford could have made her do all those things himself

>2. Man in Black
>9002. Will

Oh the irony...

Ford said he has backdoors in all the robots.

Ford has to know what's going on with Maeve.

The worst thing that can happen to them if they take Maeve out is get fired. The worst thing that can happen to them if they help Maeve is being responsible for the release of hundreds of intellectual terminators into the world. That is if Maeve doesn't kill them the moment they stop being useful.

I suppose that's what the company gets for hiring short sighted sociopaths exclusively, but still. They can wait until the gynoid is out in the field and spill their guts to security, gynoid gets ganked, life goes on.

the problem is maeve has full admin rights to the server now and is reprogramming hosts on the fly with wifi.

if she has equal privileges as ford then it won't work

Bernard programmed the prostitute to only obey him, and he done it on an "empty" host. Ford still controlled her.

His control must be base level and can't be overwritten.

>hiring short sighted sociopaths

It's implied that that's all that is left of humanity.

There are a few mentions to biological/genetic tampering with fetuses so it's likely that only extremely intelligent people with low emotional affect are allowed to be born in the first place (At least among the wealthy).

This is a big hint as to who is human and who is not in the show in the later timeframe (Man in Black). Anyone who is younger than ~40 that displays any sort of real emotions is a host while anyone who fails to is a human.

>His control must be base level and can't be overwritten

He only has that level of control over hosts he built.

Dolores and some others (the ones Bernard wanted to find) are free of his control.

>if she has equal privileges as ford
Ford is not a typical admin, it's likely impossible for anyone but Arnold to be on his level
