they're extremely comfortable but the build quality is dogshite and they'll crap out on your often just after the warranty. Don't bother.

My advice: get a decent pair of headphones and a clip-on mic or something.

I have Superlux 668Bs that I'll be selling soon and a reasonably quality desktop mic, though it's kind of far away so I have to speak up a fair amount to get my voice clear

but I have a ton of stuff running across my desk that I'd like to get down to just a keyboard/mouse and headset if possible

I have SHP9500 because I'm on a budget but if you can, you might wanna get memeheisers or akg
But gaming headphones are usually a scam.

I have the hyperx headset, most comfortable shit ive had on my head, many people may say that gaming headsets are inferior to headset and mic but im happy with my purchase.

The Hyper X Cloud isn't too bad, but it's $100

Go to Bestbuy and get the $40 pair of Turtle Beaches with the warranty. You can swap em out for a new pair right when they start getting shitty.

Same, comfortable as fuck, and with a good equalizer like Peace they sound great. Invest the money OP, like a mouse and keyboard it's something you're almost always using.

>Turtle Beaches
I'm not that stupid, was vaugely considering steel series due to them being around forever, though I know the new 200 is no where near as good as the old V2s

Although the V3s are only $60 and it's reasonably close to the old V2's quality right?

amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Comfortable-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00O06ZMRG

Im afraid you are. If you're considering getting this for your pc then its fucked Im sorry. If its for a console however forty bucks is a fine price for a pair of headphones better than the cheapo kind that comes with the concept. Assuming you're swapping them out in

I have that, I just want to try something new

>concept
Console*

I've had a pair of these for 5ish years. They still work, haven't had any problems with them. For me they start to feel uncomfortable after a couple of hours, but it could be because I have glasses and they press down on them. The sound quality is ok, I think they're designed for shooters so they enhance firing sounds, makes a pretty satisfying boom every time you fire your gun. They block out any outside noise completely, the world could be ending outside and you wouldn't hear it.

Then realize you're buying it for the gimmick. You dont need to spend a whole bunch to enjoy the benefit of having nice over ear headphones with a mic attached thats plugged into your controller. The very reason headsets are hated on in general is because people spend a whole shit ton on them instead of getting actually decent headphones.

Post your glasses

>Buying steelseries shit
>while you could get a Beyerdynamics Studioheadphone that will give you an orgasm from the sound quality for the same price

How's Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 analog? Been looking to replace my old ass Phillips headphones

This, I've got myself some audio technica ath-m50s and an Antlion Modmic and everything is great.

They're pretty much the same, they alright

You probably mean the old V2s, which is probably the best gaming headset ever made, the new ones are rather sub par

Ya know, the ones from this video

youtube.com/watch?v=12vh55_1ul8

I need to find some Old V2s man

for $60?

They're all shit, just buying them for convenience really

Though the sound signature is generally optimized for gaming like
says

whatever you do, don't buy steelseries. I bought a Siberia 350 and had it changed with warranty once but gave up afterwards. It's just your usual overpriced "gaming" shit. The drivers are really buggy and there's a constant static noise which nobody can explain, and my shitty old Sony headphones sound better.

Actually hold the fucking phone boys, I just remembered newegg has a bunch of cheap Chinese clones/pallet left overs from the old V2s

Kinda want to buy them just to see what it's all about...

Thinking about getting Sennheiser headset when I get back into PC gaming, what headset should I buy?

Just get a mod mic and normal sennheiser whatevers

598 or 600

amazon.com/Superlux-HD668B-Dynamic-Semi-Open-Headphones/dp/B003JOETX8

with

amazon.com/Neewer-3-5mm-Hands-Computer-Microphone/dp/B005DJOIHE/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1480579008&sr=1-3&keywords=lapel mic

that lapel mic looks cheap as fuck but that shit sounds better than any $200+ "gaming headset" mic

Unrelated to the thread somewhat, but I bought a steelseries mouse at Quakecon a long ass time ago when they were a fairly new brand because I needed a new one bad since my old logitech which lasted me forever took a shit.

Needless to say, it had like a year warranty on it and it didn't even last that long and I don't abuse my shit but I used it pretty heavily.

I got another one from the warranty and soon after it took a shit too. I think the mouse buttons gave out but I don't remember, I'd never buy from those faggots again.

Did anyone have good mice back then?

Isn't that nearing the Boomslang era?

Their newer sensei and Rival series are pretty popular, but all those mice are basically the same

>$46.86 in total
Wow user, as much as I don't like the look of the Headphones, really low price! Thanks for the suggestion!
Which headphones and mic would you recommend? What's good about having a standalone headphone and standalone mic then a headset?
Anything that makes those stand out from the others?

The Superlux 668Bs are what I use now and They're alright , although I think I will be buying one of those first from asia Siberia V2s to see what's up with it, hopefully not wasting 40 bucks

youtube.com/watch?v=3fD-M1F6L4g&t=836s

youtube.com/watch?v=8dj5G0isn9Y

It was for this shit right here

steelseries.tumblr.com/post/3085840887/steelseries-at-quakecon

The mouse seemed fine at the time as it was really comfortable for me and tracking seemed fine but then again I didn't know shit about mice back then because I had been using that logitech for so long. I was just pissed off they both lasted under like a year.

I know you'll hate me, but I think I'm going to try my luck with these Used Siberia V2s from amazon for $40, Hopefully they're the old ones that were actually good

amazon.com/gp/product/B003N636VI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A24XSXSBEY0WR5

>as much as I don't like the look of the Headphones

why does looks matter? who are you showing your stuff off to?

Nothing, the look of the headphones don't really influence my decision to buy them. I just like it when things look nice

I'm sure they're better now otherwise they wouldn't really be in business

The Rival 500 looks sweet for Dota 2, I've only ever used cheap used Razer Mice and random Chinese mice, never really noticed much a difference between any of them, I think my MMR was higher when I was using a $13 mouse and Thirft Store membrane keyboard rather than the $150 I've got into my current keyboard/mouse set up

steelseries.com/gaming-mice/rival-500

Literally can't even see them when they're on

watch the videos there's a ton of suggestions there

>bought the Siberia elite from where I work real cheap
>SUPER fucking comfy
>lights and sound settings default back to normal when you un/replug it from usb which is annoying
>material is pulling out away from the ear cup only had them a couple of months
They are very nice but fuck the things i mentioned. Luckily I can just take them back and swap them for something else after 12 months

Oh, yeah it looks like I have the old ones. Didn't know there was a new version.
Nah

Doubt I'd ever spend more than $60 on gaming headphones

I had Razer Tiamat 2.2s before that I got for $40 used and it wasn't too bad though

I believe they made new V2s, and then had the Siberia 200, which are pretty crap overall

youtube.com/watch?v=E_n0hXLgXMc

Wait I'm thinking of the V3s, the 200 seems to be exactly the same as the V2s

Yeah im usually the guy who spends a little more than is necessary because money isnt an issue. Because of where I work I can just take them back and swap them over for something of the same value. Probably wont buy anything as expensive after that though.

Pretty sure things like that are mostly money grabs, the the Tiamat 7.1 by razer with a bunch of tiny speakers in the cups
youtube.com/watch?v=gsgWyXpYOJ8

i bought these for cheap, pretty impressive when using equalizer.

i recommend equalizer APO + peace GUI, it does wonders to headsets

I have those. They have been working well for 3years and counting. The only issue is that they squeeze your ears too much and after 3 hours it starts hurting
