He's conflicted, but ultimately he's a more of a 'the ends justify the means' sorta guy-- hence why he chooses to leave c-sec.

Ashley is surprisingly well written in the original, same with Kaiden.

The part where she talks about how her dad loved Tennyson's Ulysses and how he'd record his daughters reciting it for him every time he went off world for active duty was really sweet. They deliver it really well when she says she reads it to his grave every year. Very human. Also being both religious and a legitimate bully was interesting, especially since both those traits are done poorly by modern bioware.

Kaiden on the other hand has that whole Biotic background which is interesting. His talks about the Turian that they brought in to help on research were truly intriguing.

It's pretty incredible how much better the writing is in Mass Effect 1, having just played the collection recently you can see that ME2 and ME3 really just ride off their predecessors writing-- continually getting shittier right up until the end.

But hey. That ME3 multiplayer was pretty fun.

Undoubtedly. Though playing adept in ME1 is pretty fucking fun, arguebly more fun then in ME2.

Too bad ME is a series of tons of lost potential that will never be realized.
