I suddenly feel like I've been playing the same few types of games over and over again for the past five years at least. I feel like when I was younger I had far more eclectic tastes when it came to games. Because I got to hire them from the video store, I'd try anything. But there were solid experiences back then that I came back to again and again. And I feel like I've neglected that genre entirely for far too long.
tldr; I miss games like Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64. What's their modern day equivalent (for PC)?
its beatable and has no bugs, idk why it's on early access.
If you can't spend 1$ on G2A then you're the poorest fag ever
Levi Thomas
you sound suspiciously like a massive shill, that alone is putting me off
Jace Bailey
Nah, I got that, I Am Bread and some other shit yesterday and I had a lot of fun with it.
If I wanted to shill something I'd make a whole thread like the Knuckle Sandwich guy.
Adrian Rivera
OP;Hey guys I really like this genre of Video game and am willing to do figuratively anything to play a modern day counter-part.
user:Here's a cool game that matched all your requests and is merely 1 dollar
OP:You're a faggot that's early access shit man don't even try to take time to help me, faggot.
ME:You have good taste OP
Eli Smith
Op here, I just watched the trailer for POI and thought it looked cool, thanks for the rec. (There are other people in this thread)
Julian Brown
I'm not the guy, but cool. Out of all them rareware platformers which one is your favourite, OP?
Andrew Hernandez
I'm not OP, and I didn't say any of those things, I just said >early access, since it usually means bugs (but apparently not in this case?).
James Gutierrez
No prob, man! It's really fun and has the Super Mario Style triple jump and backflip, you can run/sprint, and there's a lot of those SM Sunshine puzzle levels, like how they had the Sand Bird and stuff without F.L.U.D.D.
Tyler Harris
Banjo-Kazooie was definitely the one I spent the most time with, and Tooie (sp?). I remember really liking Mario 64 or whatever it was called, but I finished it kind of quickly which I found disappointing.
William Evans
Your opinion. Kazooie or Tooie? Me personally it's probably Tooie
Austin Thomas
As luck would have it I went to check out its Steam page and apparently I already own it. Must have been in a Humble Bundle I ignored. Installing now.
Camden Richardson
You should have been able to tell OP was a faggot from his bad taste in games. N64 kids wallowing in nostalgia for games that have aged like shit are generally not pleasant people.
Ethan Richardson
Tooie for me too, I loved that Shaman a ridiculous amount for some reason. I had a sticker of him on my lunchbox.
Eli Baker
Am I being cleverly shilled at?
Sebastian Kelly
Yeah. I was always wondering if the world were created by Gruntilda like in super mario 64 or if they were just portals. I always liked Shaman especially getting to play as him.
Me and OP are apparently cool now. Also the thread was about modern games of that genre. I think OP was too saying they are old, he wanted a fresh thing.
>Clever >Shill We're just people who like video games. Pretty rare on Sup Forums, huh?
Tyler Thompson
He's recommending a 1 dollar game. If you are more concerned with shills than spending one dollar, you are extremely jaded or underage.
Nathan Green
you aren't helping your case
Robert Nguyen
No, dude, I literally got it off of fucking G2A last night, why is that hard to believe? Like, do you want my steam ID so you can see me currently in game or something?
If I bought a game and recommended it, I fucking bought a game and recommended it, jesus.
I'm trying to actually talk about games on fucking Sup Forums. What happened to you guys, I thought summer was over?! I miss talking to strangers over the internet about video games...
Austin Brown
First thing I thought when I saw the trailer was 'That little dude with his douchebag hat is really lame' and the first thing you can do is choose your character.
Thomas Cook
>1 dolar You fooled me, user.
Leo Murphy
can hiromoot ban these faggots already? whats the point of attempting discussion on Sup Forums if there is a ready made meme to derail a thread instantly?
Lucas Harris
1 dollar on G2A, bro
Adrian Reyes
Never heard about it before, sounds like shilling to me.
Josiah Long
Thanks again, this is exactly what I had in mind. Looked it up and apparently it was in the monthly bundle for August so that's how I had it. I'm half tempted to turn the music down and listen to my own stuff, but I feel like the music might also be an integral part of the atmosphere that I maybe shouldn't discard so soon.
Owen Wright
This thread isn't over though, if anyone has any other recommendations share them.
Eli Bennett
when I got Poi, I also got The Last Tinker: City of Colors. Havent tried it yet, but it looks surprisingly good.
Chase Torres
Saw a thing, jumped on its head, got a heart.
Joshua Powell
When checking the Steam reviews for Points someone mentioned FreezeME and a Hat in Time. They both seem to be 3D platformers but Yooka Laylee and Poi seem better so far. Maybe you could check those out?
Lucas Phillips
you are aware that you're the one that started with an antagonistic attitude in the first place, right?
Liam Williams
>FreezeME Oh, yeah, I bought that on Xbox One during a sale, it's fun but a slight bit glitchy feeling.
