Furi was pretty fun, but that's about it.

Let my subscription run out last month. I only play single player games anyways.

That's why I just ignored the "please renew, also the price of renewing going up by $20" emails.

>waahh its worth it its not a scam like live what are you poor waaah its not a scam it will always give good games!
I
told
you
so

>"please renew, also the price of renewing going up by $20"
Are you fucking kidding?

>Starting on September 22nd, the cost of a 12 month PlayStation Plus membership will increase to $69.99, up from its current $49.99 price.

You just realised?

I think it's worth it.

I am so fucking done with Sony after this generation.

Metal Gear was my whole reason of buying a Sony console and MGSV was dog shit. I hate my PS4. I hate the DS4. I hate PS+. This is fucking cancer.

I got Transformers Devastation and REmake.

I wonder why they don't put Resogun there.

PS3 had a huge library, PS4 doesn't have enough AAA titles to throw at you. So this is the indie-life of PS+

Doesn't even matter now anyway, PS+ isn't optional anymore so it's just standard practice like what XB has been doing for years.

they did, like 6 months ago

Was about to say this.

REmake
Transformers
Journey
Gone Homo so I could finally try it
Grim Fandango HD
God of War: Ghost of Sparta (Vita)

Literally think that's everything this year i've actually been glad to play.
I think it's worth the money but obviously I don't get to keep them.

Microsoft is the same though.

F U R I

Resogun was already in the Instant Game Collection way back in November 2013.

To be fair this year had a rrsonable amount of decent games if you owned all 3 systems. Having it only on the ps4 was fucking awful though.

At least december games are actually good.

PS4/mid-range PC only this gen. And I will never pay to play online ever again. Total rip-off.

Only games I'm getting are Berseria and P5 neither needs online I let it run out 2 months ago.

I actually like the DS4. Although out of PC/WiiU/PS4/3DS that I have, I think the majority of playtime is on PS4>3DS>PC>WiiU

Now that I think about it.. I don't think I've even played WiiU this year, collecting dust forever now.

The PS4 is the last console I'll buy for sure. I'll end up just leaving videogames behind altogether. Right now they aren't fun. No good new games. Even Fifa is garbage now. I pay £6 a month to play R6 Siege and that's all I play.

Tomorrow is my last month. I'm thinking I just let it lapse. Bloodborne is the only game I ever played online, and the only game I didn't play to fulfillment and I'll miss is Yakuza 5. I'll just wait for a sale.

It stopped giving out good games when it became required for online. Because then you've hooked most players because who wants to be without online? Now you don't even have to give a shit about the games.
A true pigfucking bastard is the one at Sony who thought that up.

>$60 a year
>to play games online
>to get 2 $5 games a month that you don't keep when you stop paying
why were you even subscribed in the first place?

That's actually just CAD. USD is going up by 10 dollars and is in line with European prices.

>PS+ isn't optional anymore
Yes it is.

>to get 2 $5 games a month
"no"

>It stopped giving out good games when it became required for online.
This is such a bullshit meme that people spout. People will genuinely ignore the fact that it has always been whatever games mixed with good games occasionally and will continue to ignore any and all good games given through PS+ after PS4 release.

>people still don't get the point of PS+

Do you expect AAA releases? That's not the idea behind PS+, it's about getting you the games you would never buy for yourself. And now to Jew people because it's mandatory to play PS4 MP and because they upped the price.

>PS+ isn't optional anymore
>Yes it is.

Not the same guy but it is not optional if you have to pay to be able to play online.

Also, most games in these last 3 years have been fucking awful. I don't expect to have the Witcher 3 launching in one month and getting it for free in the next but it has been garbage for years. There's only a handful of games that were actually good.

>defending a $60 a year subscription service obstructing people from using their $400 console with $60 games

Playing online is completely optional, user.

There are plenty of single player games.

What is the fuckin' point anymore?

so you can play online

>Not the same guy but it is not optional if you have to pay to be able to play online.

But that's moving the goalpost. Also not every game requires PS+ despite being online (For example FFXIV).

> There's only a handful of games that were actually good.
This is literally an issue with your tastes or just plain refusal to play anything out of your comfort zone.
I've played plenty of games that I had not really heard of or would've thought to buy but got them with PS+, played them and enjoyed them.

"ok"

Well, it's a PS4 after all

Yeah, once Spider-Man and MAYBE Death Stranding come out and I get tired of those games I'll be fucking done with this console, I can't fucking believe Sony got even greedier than Microsoft. I'm getting a Scorpio next for sure.

Haven't had it for about a year now. Was gonna buy a month to try Overwatch during the free weekend but saw that they removed the single month option and I didn't want to pay 20 bucks for three months so I just turned off the console again.

Also out of the last 20 games I bought I returned ~18 after playing them because I felt none of them were worth keeping them on my shelf. I mean I still have physical copies of so many games and even though I don't use them they're kinda like memorabilia. But all the recent ones are so irrelevant and shallow that I can't get rid of them fast enough. Fuck man

but then if you wanna play online you can't without paying. Besides a lot of single player games have multiplayer( Uncharted 4, The last of us, ETC), so you can only try everything a game has to offer if you pay.

>Moving goal posts
it is really not, we are still taking about PS+ in here user, especially since PS+ is required to play most games online. The very fact we don't have to option to try every game, being it multiplayer or not, without having to pay is fucking retarded.

>This is literally an issue with your tastes or just plain refusal to play anything out of your comfort zone.

I literally played every single game across. all my 3 PS consoles and i enjoy every genre of games aside from sport games. Ever since the PS4 launched most games have been fucking garbage for it. The PS3 at least had one good game every month since i got it years ago.

>Death Stranding.
Dude that game is not coming out in this decade.

OK bye

they currently have Costume Quest 2 and if it's as fun as the first one it would be worth it for this month already

>Even Fifa is garbage now
user, I...

>it is really not
First the claim is
>PS+ is not optional anymore
Then the claim is
>It's not optional if you want to play online games
Textbook goalpost moving.

> Besides a lot of single player games have multiplayer
From the PS4 games I own only Bloodborne has online

>Ever since the PS4 launched most games have been fucking garbage for it.
You're full of shit, really. I urge you to take a look at past offerings and realise that it's always been a rollercoaster of quality.

I was a win and lose for me but it feels like every month it's Xmas so I like it.

Just buy a month for 7$ when you want to play a game online and forget about it until the next one comes out.

It would be great if this roller coaster would stop going down soon, it seems like it's been 3 years since we got on

Didn't Yakuza 5 happen this year? I mean, Yakuza is pretty cool. Does fuck all for PS4 owners but then again

>2016
>owning a PS4

Multiplayer.

Hello Microsoft shill.

Every fucking month has at least 1-2 good games to play but you just want to whine, don't you?

$10.

Anyone that says $20 is either illiterate or Canadian, not that there's much difference.

xbox is the same shit faggot.

Was there ever a point to paying for online play past the golden age of 2008-2010 Xbox Live? Why do you retards even pay for this shit. Almost every complaint I see about the PS4 is something completely optional
>muh updates
Just don't install them before you play if you REALLY WANT TO PLAY RIGHT NOW
>muh PS Plus
Literally zero reason to have it unless you're a dudebro that plays CoD and sports games online every day.
>muh no games
This one is true though. Maybe in a year or two it'll reach the same level the PS3 reached after 5 years.

I just got a PS4 and bought a PS+ card from the store and put the code in. When I put it in it told me it would auto renew unless I cancelled it, but when I go to the PS+ page on my PS4 there's just an "Extend" button and nothing about cancelling auto renew.

Am I missing something? If this shit auto renews I'm going to be pissed. I only bought it to unlock the online features of Bloodborne.

A damn shame those are the supposed "primary" options for consoles these days. I miss when consoles actually had distinct identities from one another. Only Nintendo even seems to try that anymore and their ideas haven't exactly been the best they've had in recent times.

>>muh no games
>This one is true though. Maybe in a year or two it'll reach the same level the PS3 reached after 5 years.

Makes me wonder if you're illiterate, or just a shill. What do you mean by "no game". Actually, scratch that, what the hell is your definition of game?

Let's see about that user. Last month we got
Everybody's Gone to the Walking Simulator and some literally what garbage made by literal whos. Not even a third game. These are what is supposed to make up for having to pay for a service that should under no circumstances have to cost and money.

Japanese PS+ is pretty good this month, free Atelier Sophie.

Check under the options on the console proper. Hopefully there's a way to manage your account information. Can't speak for PS4 but I can cancel auto-renew just fine on my PS3.

It does. Be a big boy and google it, instead of asking a vidya forum.

It's hyperbole; there are plenty of games, most are just so irrelevant and not worth playing that there might as well be next to none.

How am I a shill for saying the PS4 doesn't have enough games to warrant owning it yet? Even most of the shit coming out in 2017 will be multiplat. Obviously it has games, just not enough that are good or worth owning the system for.

Then again back in the day I considered Resident Evil a Playstation game and worth getting the system for even though it was on Dreamcast and PC so maybe it's just a problem with games being released period.

i bought a ps4 to play blazblue

For a second I was thinking "Holy shit, already?" but Firis is the new one, not Sophie.

>made by literal whos.

People like you are the reason the gaming scene is such garbage..

>lel that's a well known dev, I'll buy the game ot try it out

Gas millennials when?

You're trying your hardest to cherrypick, aren't you?

>some literally what garbage made by literal whos.
Deadly Tower of Monsters was enjoyable even if it was short. It was also made by Zeno Clash & Rock of Ages devs and published by Atlus.

You're full of shit.

Why are you acting like you can only choose between the two?

good work leaving out the part where I said that what the literal whos were making is literal garbage, not to mention ignoring the entire main point of my argument about these "games" being meant to make up for an overpriced service that should be free.

>PS+ used to be an optional service
>had some actually damn good titles come out
>three titles a month per platform
>also a set of games that changed each year

>turned into online paywall
>only two games per month
>no yearly lineup
>indie shit 98% of the time
>raise the price

What a fucking trainwreck. I miss Kaz and Tretton, at least their evil shenanigans were occasionally entertaining.

>Textbook goalpost moving.

It is not nigga, we are still talking about PS+ and how it is not optional if you want to play online or any other content a game has that requires it to be online.

>From the PS4 games I own only Bloodborne has online
Yeah, lets all forget all the other shitload of games that have online. Just because you only play bloodbourne doesn't mean you can ignore all the other fucking games the system has, especially because half of the fun of souls games, including the campaign, is when you play with other people.

>You're full of shit, really.
You are the only full of shit, the very fact you don't see how fucking garbage most games they gave since the PS4 launched is really concerning.

Here's a list of every game they gave in North America(which is pretty much similar to most regions besides maybe japan). Just check the PS4 one and compare to the PS3 one. Even comparing the last games or the games each one of them gave during the same period of time after the service launched on each platform has some huge ass difference in quality.

finder.com.au/complete-list-of-playstation-plus-free-games

>This is literally an issue with your tastes or just plain refusal to play anything out of your comfort zone.
My tastes are for good games, too bad the PS4 doesn't cater to that.

>only two games per month
??

Whoa, some more literally what garbage made by literal whos. You really swayed me user, I'm gonna go give Sony $60 right now!

There were a couple good games this year. This month is fucking barren though.

Multiplayer in modern console games is optional, lol. This is like complaining that buying games on steam isn't optional because you can't play the multiplayer on a pirated copy

Before each platform had three games per month. They dropped it to two once they turned it into a shitty paywall.

only 2 games last month user

>Bloodborne

>good games

LOLOLOLOLOL

What are the next games?

What are the games this month? Are they shit too?

>tfw the only worthwhile free game was Binding of Isaac

>Multiplayer in modern console games is optional
it's literally not in like 25% of all games

>bloodborne

>good game

pick one

Not defending PS+ here, but you're the retard if you think Zeno Clash or Rock Of Ages are "literally what".

If you don't like it, don't pay for it.
I just have PS+ whenever one of my brothers want to play online. I pay for the year because it's a better deal and I'm sure to use multiple months in a row anyway. If we're currently not playing online when it expires, though, then I let it run out.

That said though, for about $6 or $7 per month you get a collection of six random games, most of which are for PS4. Rarely (maybe once or twice a year) you'll get an older AAA title that's probably worth $20 in stores. I'm not trying to sound like a shill but I think that's a pretty good fucking deal.

I don't like that multiplayer is locked behind a paywall; that's pretty shitty. I'm also not a fan of monthly blind bags. Overall though, this is a pretty good way to go about it.

>It is not nigga, we are still talking about PS+ and how it is not optional
Let me quote from the first post that I replied to.

>Doesn't even matter now anyway, PS+ isn't optional anymore so it's just standard practice like what XB has been doing for years.

>Yeah, lets all forget all the other shitload of games that have online.
You're overexaggerating the amount of games with online.

> the very fact you don't see how fucking garbage most games they gave since the PS4 launched is really concerning.

Yeah, I wish we could have separate Sega Master Games on ICG that was so fucking epic! Or PS1 classics! Wow! Or indie games by the dozen (but apparently it was acceptable back then)

It has always been up and down

Playing multiplayer modes in single player centric games is optional, retard. Don't buy Madden 2k-whatever and then bitch that you have to play for multiplayer, it's a normalfag tax.

whoa... so this is the power of PS+...

Or because there are -3- active consoles right now you dumbass.

I count 6

Name one worthwhile PS4 game that doesn't lock a chunk of it's content behind online functionality.

Digimon Story: Cyber Slut

>PS3 and Vita
and why would I even bother with PS+ on two dead consoles that don't require it to play 25% of their libraries?

You're just doing this on purpose.

There are no worthwhile PS4 games. Don't say Bloodborne's online functionality is worth shit, though, because it isn't.

Just got a PS4 last week after being PC/WiiU all this gen decided to avoid PS4 out of principle. It's been surprisingly easy when all the worthwhile exclusives that happen to have multiplayer are just tacked on and easily ignored. Bloodborne is arguably not tacked on, but I've gotten the impressions that it has the worst online implementation in the souls series anyways, and I've never personally needed player summons to beat the games, cared for PvP or wanted messages spoiling things.

>service getting worse
>PS4 ui is a thousand times worse than functional PS3 ui
>store was revamped to be even fucking shittier and less intuitive, still filled with "buttons" that either do nothing when clicked, or lead to empty sub-categories
>total unwillingness to put anything worth more than $5-$10 on PS+
>sales have gone from $1 blowouts on classic games to 20 or 30% off anything that hasn't sold well enough in the past year, maybe 50% off ps1 roms
>even starting to fuck over their indie devs
>PS+ price hike on top of all this
>still no games where the devs choose to make online free without PS+ even though Sony said they had that option

>worthwhile

meant for

Way to miss the point of my post.

Meant to say I was avoiding PS+ out of principle, not PS4.

Proving that the service is objectively shit? I would say that's my end goal, I'm glad it's working.

That depends on the person. I haven't touched my Vita in forever but I'm still building a library of games just for the fuck of it. I might play VVVVVV on it since it's been years since I've played it.

As for my PS3, I play it occasionally. I recently started playing Yakuza 4 (which was part of PS+) and I'm really impressed by it. It's likely a game that I never would have touched otherwise.

>I'll just nuhuh everything you list so I can pretend I'm right
