Not really. The sequel is very good though, especially with Mask of the Betrayer or the Baldur's Gate module

Yes, assuming you bother looking for user-made modules; the base campaign is just a tech demo for the toolkit. That and playing it multiplayer is pretty great.

you can be a monk. As one who played 3.5 monk, I think it would almost be easier to pick fighter and use a staff.

yes you can and you can even make a dwarf defender monk aka a mini wall of furry punches

Three words: Multiple, Attribute, Dependency.

I didn't see a Weapon finesse feat of all things.

Flurry of Blows is really Flurry of misses often enough, because in exchange for making multiple attacks you basically take minuses to your attack bonuses.

Also, the game's basically running on pseudo 3rd edition, meaning linear fighters, quadratic wizards.

It's not total shit for Monks at the start, but lategame you will wonder why you even bothered.

Anything you can do in melee as a monk, can be done better as a Cleric or Druid with magic buffs.

Ah that's a shame. Monks are my favourite class in pretty much anything.

Yeah.
You need good strength so you can actually hit your opponents for damage.

You need Dex so you don't get hit.

You need Constitution so you don't trip over a ladybug and die.

You need Intelligence so you can actually have skill points to put in your spot check (which you have to spend 2 points on per rank in this game for some horseshit reason), and make use of your skills (at which point just roll rogue, the OG of skill monkeys).

You need Wisdom because Monk class features hinge on it a number of times, plus not getting tricked by Charisma characters is useful.

You need Charisma the least, yet you could probably use it to hire some henchmen to fight for you until 5th level.

So yeah. If the game has Weapon Finesse you could forego some strength for more Dex, and be a little better at melee.

That's possible. It also doesn't mater.

You see, under normal circumstances legally cracks are the property of the IP's owner, not the creator of the crack. When GOG contacts them, the IP holder might tell them that they are free to sell the game DRM-free, but they will have to remove the DRM themselves, by any means necessary. Which means they give permission to GOG to use the cracks which they own.
