>FFX13-2 Boss fight >Caius had actual motivations >You had to use tactics and strategy also switch roles to beat him >Couldn't dodge insta KO needed to be skillful enough to stop them >leveling was very important since you received more hp/mp raised stats and got new abilities >FFXV bossfight >didn't need all of the swords to activate it >Ardyn was mad because he didn't get to be the SACRIFICIAL king >survive long enough to reach the next QTE >turn super saiyan and at that point doesn't matter what abilities you had >summoning? Lol >Ardyn stands there taunting you while you kill him >basically warp dive to regain hp and mana ardyn takes a million years to aggro you and won't at all if you keep changing spots >barely see what abilities are being cast besides huge ones >have fun EVER dying at 0 HP since you got 2 bars
I want to play Final Fantasy again not a fighting game against AIs where all you need are mechanics
Jaxon Perez
>I want to play Final Fantasy again not a fighting game against AIs where all you need are mechanics
Play World of Final Fantasy then
or, git gud
Jack Lewis
>git gud I already said the game was laughably easy
Liam Ortiz
You're legitimately allowed to stop whining then
Lincoln Thompson
Caius also turns into bahamut and makes the last boss fucking retarded
Ian Walker
Yeah that's what i was talking about with the stopping the KO trigger.
I don't see how it was retarded at least it was a boss fight. You can hardly call Ardyn "QTE" Caelum a boss fight when it had 0 difficulty or need if a strategy that wasn't attack and dodge.
He had no weakpoints besides parry trigger cutscene 3 times and had the worst AI aggro mechanism
Ryder Gonzalez
>anything in 13-2 >challenging lol
Not that it makes XV not a piece of shit, but kill yourself nonetheless.
James Butler
How would you know how to stop an instant KO mechanic without dying to it? I didn't say challenging just that you couldn't beat the game by simply attacking all the time. Shills n33d to leave
Oliver Phillips
Ardyn was mad because his gods denied him death yet his service was in their name, his soul was too filthy from healing so many scourge sufferers and he was denied to ascend.
He's like a cross between Luc from Suikoden III and Caius Ballad from FFXIII-2. He's an immortal hypocrite probably responsible for killing far more than he ever saved therefore justifying his own doom as an immortal man more than saving himself in any conceivable way.
Landon Harris
>hypocrite What are you even talking about?
He saved countless lives and in doing so they rejected him and casted him out for doing just that, he had every fucking right to be pissed off.
Matthew Ramirez
And in total contradiction to that he teaches Versteal in the future about Magitek which allows Nifelheim to invade and kill hundreds of thousands across many toppled countries, just so he could finish his ongoing conquest with Insomnia.
Nicholas Clark
Confirmed for having not played XIII-2.
Thomas Harris
>save peoples live he gets shit on >do the opposite and kill people he gets shit on Being Ardyn must be suffering.
Nathaniel Edwards
Story should've involved Ardyn manipulating the team into killing all Astrals, who are essentially the real antagonists here for being callous and uncaring idiots and huge asscaves to Ardyn. Or outright malevolent like Ifrit who started the Starscourge in the first place.
Brayden Brooks
>Be immortal >Spend years becoming a powerful being >Some little faggot goes on a roadtrip and can now rival you because your ancestors are assholes and are giving Noctis spirit steroids Such bullshit, Ardyn should have won. Fuck he COULD have won right off the bat if he hadn't been retarded.
James Cooper
Its not the game i waited 10 years to play, all the trailers were lies So no matter how good it is it hurts
Asher Morgan
M8, he was literally Jesus before people turned on him.
Jason Allen
It wasn't the gods. It was the will of the crystal. Used Ardyn to be a harbinger of darkness. Collected all the power so it could use the King of Light to destroy him and the daemons at once.
Jayden Morris
the story in the game was shredded so thin
Sebastian Peterson
Yup. In fact it was not that the Archaeons rejected him it was just that he was already corrupted beyond belief. The gods don't go around destroying daemons. Humans do. In order to ascend you must be granted the power of the 6. Ardyn wanted to Ascend and be killed to end his suffering. But that was impossible since he could not receive the blessing of light.
Only way for him to die was by being painted as a daemon himself and hated. King of Light saves the day having not know nearly the same amount of suffering as Ardyn and ends his suffering.
Only someone with the power to Ascend and bloodline of Lucis could have the ability to burden themselves with daemons like Ardyn so the crystal chose him. He was essentially the King of Darkness.
He lost everything and didn't care abiut humanity anymore so he chose to fight Noctis after putting him through immense suffering. At the same time for the final fight you see Ardyn surrounded by the knights of the round or sword bearers. He stands there taunting Noctis as if he wanted to die. You really think someone like him couldn't put up a fight or potentially win? The power of light was merely so he could sacrifice his mortal body to end Ardyns immortality and the daemons.
He did NOT use the power of light to fight Ardyns mortal vessel. He used the power of the swords and gods.
Kingsglaive and brotherhood too fail to tell people this. They also fail to reiterate the Fabula nova Crystallis lore.
Andrew Foster
Ardyn is a typical jrpg antagonists that trains the MC via manipulation so that he can fullfill his goal, only to be defeated by that same strenght he helped develop. However, Ardyn's case was outright stupid. He should have killed both Luna and Noctis immediately and if he didn't it's just because he wanted Noctis to take the crystal's power so that he could estinguish it all. Which makes sense only until you remember that Noctis is the last of the Lucian line and the crystal is literally just a shining rock without the ring. It wouln't have mattered at all if it was still active.
Why did he want to destroy the world anyways? It doesn't make sense.
Carson Hill
B-b-b-b-but FF13 was shit user! Muh hallways!!! Muh Press X to win meme!!! Muh circlejerking!!!!
Leo Jackson
people played 13-2?
Liam Thompson
>draw fedora >call it final boss DELET
Henry Myers
He just wanted to die at that point.
Hudson Nelson
Pretty much the way he went about it was stupid. I do believe Ardyn is a tragic villain when you read between the lines. Ardyn probably couldn't contain much of his daemon side from corrupting the world. The only way to stop Ardyn was by empowering Noctis. Ardyn wanted to die righteously but was denied. He probably wanted to save the world especially since he could have killed Noctis's friend but never did.
To explain it simply: he did not want to destroy the world, he just couldn't stop the destruction from spreading since it stemmed from himself and he wasn't capable of ending his own life.
They just explained it so poorly. Caius was better because he was basically doing a FUCK YOU to the crystal for cursing Yeul and essentially won. Ardyn seemed to be retarded all game and the crystal fucked him over already so the worst he could do was accelerate the apocalypse and make Noctis suffer in order to speed up the process of becoming the King of Light
Isaac Clark
Let's be honest here, it was only in the XIII-2 DLC where the battle system actually shone like it was meant to.
Adrian Thomas
Nigga is immortal. Pretty sure he gives no fuck in what state the planet is in.
According to the movie it does matter, Lucian bloodline is irrelevant they can still grant their power to whoever. In either case irrelevant since its obvious he wanted to take its revenge on the ring and crystal moreso than Noctis for denying his ancension.
Easton Diaz
I don't think he actually wanted Noct to kill him, it's just that dying brings him relief.
If he wanted to die to safeguard the world he wouldn't have polluted it with fucking demons. He could have just talked a bit with Regis to make an ascendes Noctis kill him. He is insane with grief and rancor and doesn't give a fuck about anything other than to spite the crystal and its king.
Oliver Bennett
You forget he was corrupted beyond repair by daemons. Impossible for someone who was angry, suffering and filled with thousands of evil daemons to talk peacefully.
Sure maybe it was just him finding peace in death but Noctis had to kill him. Regis was sad that his son was chosen, you can't force an Ascension. Noctis needed to grow up. He was a pussy ass bitch in the beginning of the game. Tell him he's going to die and he wouldn't have done it.
Also even regis' spirit wavered in killing his own son.
I don't even think Ardyn could slow the process of daemons anyways. He had to do the things he did.
Connor Evans
>He could have just talked a bit with Regis to make an ascendes Noctis kill him
He is obviously way too proud to do this. It's still the same family that fucked him over years ago.
So he may sound bitter as fuck but that he knew that his death would end the plague and made Noctis kill him. He basically forced Noctis sacrifice himself.
Andrew Scott
So basically everything about the plot of this game could have been avoided if the gods weren't total assholes that don't care about people.
