Spooky scary mountain skeleton jews

Probably Smough and Ornstein. Those to DP me so hard on first encounter.

Does that retard really think his fucking toothpick can take that thing down

kek

RAAM from GoW 1 was pretty intimidating considering all the buildup he had.

its enchanted

The Akrid bosses from Lost Planet 2.

Please OP, I NEED to know who made that art.

I'd have to give it to Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1

Ruby Weapon.

This is pretty good.
Also this is mostly circumstance but Sephiroth from kingdom hearts 1 was so god damn unexpected and intimidating. He beat my ass so hard that it left a pasting impression.

Too bad the actual fight was mediocre.

I guess the same can be said for the cyber demon in the new doom. He's all kinds of intimidating but the actual fight is kind of lacking

...

>when the music kicks in

>that fucking chuckle it makes
I can still hear it.

Dark Souls has a lots of really intimidating boss designs. Both Kalameet and Manus were it visually AND gameplaywise, also Gaping Dragon looks really nasty at first glance. Too bad that Gapey isn't half as good boss fight that you would expect from its looks, but still.

Hey guys you don't need to argue anymore. I have the answer, and it's no longer up for debate.

The boss is Grigori

there's always hope

Too bad the second phase is so much easier than the first. Still an amazing moment.

Yeah I would say Gaping Dragon despite it being easy

This deserves mention just because it has the most dire start of any boss fight ever.

>you start with 1hp on both Mario and Luigi
>the boss gets the first attack in, so you have to dodge it perfectly
>it's a multi-part fight, so if you die you have to redo the fight before it

It's not that bad once you survive the start and heal up, but god damn the beginning of it makes you sweat.

Intimidating until you start fighting it.

Posting my boy.

I could say Jergingha but it's been a while since I first played W101 and I don't remember how intimidated I first felt however recently I've been playing Dark Souls and I thought Smough was intimidating as fuck.
He's just a big hunk of brutal savage mindless force constantly moving towards you and when he smashes ornstein's corps and get's even stronger, that was when I was said out loud to myself "fuck..."

>Too bad the second phase is so much easier than the first.
So easy in fact you went out of your way to to go to a thread that has nothing to do with difficulty to let people know how easy it is?

Here's a fun question, when was the last time you let someone know how easy it is to breathe or take a shit?

Quick way to tell someone that struggled a lot, is to look for the prick that runs to call something easy without anyone even discussing it or the difficulty.

You know that someone will die, you don't know when or who but you do know that it will happen.

this is the cat cart theme:

Tower Knight immediately felt like an unbeatable boss. Considering how hard it was for everyone to get to him on their first run. That fucking bridge was my nightmare.

If that toothpick is Stormbringer, he will.

Emerald is even more distressing because you will see it and risk meeting it even before you are fit enough to actually challenge it, also there's something inherently scary about big beings that dwell underwater.

This.
I've never fought another boss where the first thought that went through my head was,"Run away."

3 also has this big fella over here. A shitty fight, but encountering him the first time is bound to intimidate anyone shitless.

...

Nigger don't even talk about that bridge

THIS!
that mission where you have to escort huey was cash, it simulated those dreams where you're running away from some giant monster perfectly, it's so damn big no matter where you are you can see it towering over the geometry and it gets around fast.

...

Gregori

I knew that something was going to pop out of the darkness, but I didn't expect a goddamn giant skeleton.

I wish i had the willpower to finish this shitty game, that fight looked pretty good

amazing fight

beat it on my first try tho

The Moon from Dead Space 3.

The boss is a fucking planet.

...

>I'll fuck you till you love me
t. mike tyson

AM, NOT JUST ALLIED MASTER COMPUTER BUT AS IN COGITO ERGO SUM, I THINK THEREFORE I AM

DeS was a special experience.

Witch of hemwick

That game was awesome, are you retarded?

muh nigga

this one

That toothpick is coated with a very deadly poison.

It will kill him.

...

The SA-X from Metroid Fusion.

Its actual fight was lackluster, but damned if it wasn't scary as shit for the other 99% of the game, especially on a blind first playthrough when you don't know when it's going to show up and kill the shit out of you.

this

He has to try, user.

Same I've never laughed cried, thrown my controller harder and rejoiced as much as fighting and beating that fool.

was dead s[ace 3 good?
i loved dead space 1 and i thought 2 was shit and i just assumed 3 was also shit

>tfw 14 when fusion came out
>the genuine anxiety when playing at night on a friday and it comes up

But he's 100% right.
The first phase of ludwig is way harder than the second.
I died like 7 times on the first but beat the second phase first try.
Not everything is some sort of brag user.

If that doesn't open a chess minigame I'm going to be slightly disappointed.

Why are images like this so comfy?

>Fight through literal hell and the most dickass midboss in the franchise
>Starts off the battle going hard as fuck with bullet streams
>Then the klaxon goes off and she's hurling FUCKING SUNS
>All while this is playing: youtube.com/watch?v=Xy_-7OXophY

Utsuho may have a skull made of lead but damn is she imposing.

...

Not him, but I dropped it too. Played a mage and the gameplay just got boring.

...

Dude you got really fucking mad over my remark that I just said to start discussion about Ludwig. I think an even easier way to tell if someone struggled is how fucking insecure they get when another person mentions that they thought a particular section was easy. Fucking faggots on here I swear.

You picked the class which has you play support bitch for an AI party and then complain it was boring? C'mon now.

I was secretly hoping you would tell me "X spell makes the game fun", but theres a 0% chance i'm going to restart halfway through the game so I guess thats that.

He's a big guy.

they're awe-inspiring and mysterious which tickles your curiosity just right

Just switch your profession to sorcerer, there's no need to restart.

the game really isnt for everyone

I always thought it was Gordon

Well, it looks like I kept it on my hard drive so I'll give it another chance. I think I got busy too.

Gore Magala is a really intimidating motherfucker if I'm being honest.
I actually dread doing the boat fight every time I play through MH4U.

You don't need to restart, you can change vocations back and forth whenever you like. If you want fun with spells in DDDA, go Sorc and nuke some shit with the big spells, also try murdering things with your lightning whip. And get another Sorc with some of the same spells in your party too, so you can sync-cast big spells like Bolide/Gicel/Maelstrom.

...

All the bosses in that game were intimidating in one way or another.

that was the scariest fucking thing i've ever seen. nice webm bruh

>that gay pawn starts running back and forth after the spell is cast
The pawn AI keeps me from giving this game a 10/10. I love the game, but they are so retardedly bad.

Fatalis

Having proper inclinations goes a long way, at least to the point where you can get your Mage to buff/heal you, Sorcs to sync-cast and to not have them climb shit like retards. But yeah, overall they're retarded, the difference between a pawn with fucking awful inclinations and one with proper inclinations for its role is pretty significant though.

The pawn AI is as good as you train it to be. Don't want retarded pawns? Show them how to not be retarded.

I put alot of thought into it and I'm not afraid to admit I'm a youngen, but there were quite a few bosses in Kingdom Hearts that got me pumped the first time I played it. My guess is age had a lot to do with it, but when I was a kid I had to hop during stressful bosses because of how hyped I would get.
I know you all consider that autism, but man I would trade anything to feel that kind of emotion again.

He can do it, he has the dexterity.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the point of the thread, but why has no one posted this boss?

will there ever be any mods where you can pilot sahelanthropus?
also will there ever be a d-walker articulated figure?

Haha I really hope this was bait otherwise I'm worried we're seeing a violent outbreak waiting to happen.

Baal
Diablo
Colossus 13
Hades
Dycedarg and his transformation
Shinryu

Training is a myth beyond proper inclinations, skill loadout and gear (immunities generally). You can "train" your pawn in the sense that certain actions you take increase certain inclinations and then those inclinations affect behavior, but you can't train it in the sense that it will learn a specific action directly. Thing is that using those inclination elixirs in the proper order is much quicker than attempting to do it by hand.

What inclination causes the AI to run back and forth doing nothing like in that webm?

Enemies dying too quickly to 2x Grand Bolide for it to decide what it wants to do.

Wrong boss bruh

I don't have a picture of the fight proper, but god damn this one had my asshole clenched the entire time

I think what helped was that you had NPCs coming in to help you throughout it. It made it feel like a pretty balls out fight

...

I feel this one

Base game is shit. DLC is pretty good.

Not the fact it's on the railing and the drop is too far to not take damage and it's too dumb to go around?

I put like 400 hours into the game on both xbox and pc. I know the AI and it's shit.

KH 1 Seph was way more intimidating giving his life bar not decreasing for a while, making the impression that either his life bar is so big the game can´t compute that amount or you´re not strong enough to fight them.

KH 2 was more hypu especially because of That´s enough bit

No, don't you see it starting to cast Grand Bolide again on the railing only to stop when shit dies? It's a Sorc, it's already in range, doesn't need to go around. How exactly did you come to the conclusion that it needed to go around when it already stopped on the railing and fully cast Grand Bolide before that?
