I played the PS4 port and had no problem with it. People complained about the motion blur, but it never bothered me. I think they patched it later to reduce the blur, but that was after I had already finished with the game.

Seriously the HD version is fucking terrible, avoid it and emulate PSP with fantranslation and 60 FPS cheat code.

It genuinely looks like ass, removes shadows, blur over everything, smeared textures everywhere along with them all being reflective so there's stupid shit like grass with light on it like its a polished floor. Character models look like they belong in a different game.


The only redeeming parts are the HQ Audio and HD prerendered cutscenes, and removal of deadzones cause its not on a psp thumbstick

I would've liked it if the sotry didn't just end out of nowhere, with minimum foreshadowing sprinkled in codex entries and vague as fuck conversations. And the two transfer student special snowflakes taking most of the screentime.

The combat was decent enough. It still has that tabata stiffness, very similar to CC, but the moveset, controls, and character's unique styles kinda covered for it. Shame the target thingy made it all pointlessly easy though.

I can upload the latest prepatched fantranslated version + the 60 FPS code for you if you want since a lot of prepatched fantranslated versions floating online use the older 1.0 fantranslation which has some bugs and text going out of boxes and such. 2.0 version of the retranslation is perfect though.

To actually start the game once you get to main menu, you need to go to Options -> New Game (pic related).
This is because they merged the game's two discs (it was one of those extremely few PSP games that came on two discs) into one for convience, space saving and so it would work on emulators.

And here's the 60 FPS cheat (complete with unlock for all costumes since some were locked behind online component which is impossible to do anymore, especially on emulators).

The PC port is fine. The problem is that the maximum AA setting renders the game at 4k and then downsamples it, so the game ran poorly for people with good computers even though its graphics aren't impressive, so people thought it was a shit port.
The AA setting utilizes downsampling, and none of those are faults of the port. Those are faults of the Remaster itself
