You could not do my job without my education, I am not a certificate teacher and could easily teach college/at a private school with my current education.

More than anything else, teachers get what we do/could get more because of how exhausting/taxing/important is to interact with our kids on a daily basis and make a positive influence in their life.

The reason Walmart is allowed to do what they do is because Walmart employees would rather quit than unionize, and I'm pretty sure Walmart would just fire anyone attempting to do so. It would take every single person getting fucked by Walmart to quit, unionize, and only return when things are changed. That won't happen, because even without immigrants there will always be someone willing to work for less than you if it's an unskilled labor job.

Positions that are regarded as more respectable and come with vacation days, good insurance, etc. only do so because otherwise no one would bother acquiring the skills/education to do that work.
