Don't walk into his poison spray zone for like 1 minute

Don't be scared and dodging back, he'll seem impossible.

The bosses forces you to learn how to dodge into him and attack.

Take time to practice parrying.
You can parry pretty much anything in this game, including this boss.

When you fight him in the Chalice Dungeons, then you can say "literally impossible," because he is tougher there even if you know how to parry him.

If you suck at dodging circling strafe to the right. It's slower though and you may take a hit or two.
