PlayStation on PC

Today Sony I going to announce its own PC digital distribution platform to compete with Steam and MS.
It's going to be released in Summer 2017. Only Bloodborne, Uncharted 1-4, Gravity Rush, Ratchet & Clank (reboot), and Infamous Second Son are going to be available day one but most PS4 first party games will be available eventually.
Screencap this.

Would be pretty sweet. Just bought a PS4 though so I would be slightly salty, but it's a promising future.

Delusional.

How do you think it would rank among Steam, GoG, Origin, and Blizznet?

Unless they give it their exclusives, like Microsoft did, it'll be dead before its premiere.

Right after releasing the PS4 Pro? Wouldn't this just tank their sales? What's their end game? OP, what's your defense?

Anything that can stand against the steam dictatorship, I'm willing to support it.

There's no games on PC and he can't afford a console. Put 2 and 2 together.

Bloodborne?
Everyone loves bloodborne
And PCfats are autistic so theyll enjoy even more

It's streaming.

>Everyone loves bloodborne
I don't, it highly over rated

That would be good. This is the best course of action if they care about money and roi in their software department. PC is huge and it's only better to distribute software across many platforms.

yes and Santa is going to drop a 10/10 waifu in your living room.

No it's not you piece of shit. I'd rather Sony stays on their PS4.

DELETE THIS

You mean PS Now?

>You mean PS Now?
Of course. What else? Porting shit to Windows? lmao

That's already available.

that would be amazing. this is the future of gaming companies. nintendo should do the same. which means theyll do it in the year 2027 when the next big thing happens and theyre 10 years behind as usual.

Yay! Pirating Sony games!

>PC digital distribution platform
No thanks!
I just returned to physical games.

remember NEVER EVER? think again sonyggers ahahaha

What about people who don't have consistent internet? Sony is shooting themselves in the foot. They should port the exclusives to the pc platform but have a playstation account as drm, along with an activation code instead of online. Buy the digital copy in stores so you can redeem the code on the pstore. That way as long as you sign in once online you can play the games offline.

>t. first world country, third world internet

>never ever

OP is just making up console warring bullshit.
There is absolutely no reason to compete with Steam and GOG for a 1.3 million*) player base, who actually buy video games digitally, when you have sold more than 120 million consoles with access to your digital store.

*) Source SteamSpy: The 99 % rest is playing F2P shit and never spends a single cent on games.

After the "PS4 Pro will convert the PC audience" things they said? No.

But I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt because it would be pretty sweet.

The same uphill battle that all other distributors have.

Sony at least has a bunch of exclusives they could put only on their platform to draw attention. If they keep their games exclusive, and said platform is either an unobtrusive simple game launcher or a not-shit Steam/Origin/UPlay, they may gain some ground. If they integrate PS+ into the PC section and offer "Free" games, they could get big.

Steam got popular first, so it's always going to be the biggest by nature until Valve fucks up big time or one of the others does something amazing. Its staying power now is the social platform integrated into their money-suckers like KnifeSkinGO.

Origin and UPlay will always suffer the stigma of being really shitty on launch (even worse than 2004 Steam) and having only their own games.

GOG will always be that small, out of the way corner with neat stuff and good deals, but it is focused on the games and isn't really a "social" platform.

Battle.net is just a launcher for Blizzard games. It's not really the same, and it will always be super popular because of its powerhouse Blizzard-brand exclusives.

Nintendo doesn't need to link itself to the Desktop PC platform, they're going to the Mobile sector and dropping the dependence on the TV. In fact, they're avoiding dependence on a PC with a wholly dedicated system that doesn't need anything other than itself. In this instance, Nintendo is ahead of the curve.

Microsoft is only sticking around with the XBone so they can harass Sony on the console field before going full Windows.
Even Sony wouldn't be retarded enough to see that the TV is being phased out of the household.

They are already converting PC audience left and right.

If this were the case they would not have bothered with PSPro

That's fine, but just know you're wrong.

...

no steam = no buy

i would turn down bloodborne if it came served like this

Is this post from bizarro world?

>Buying Steam

I only buy standalone games so mostly GOG. There's no need to support DRM and software clutter.

Never ever

honestly i'd check it out. if i could use my psn account that i already use i'd love it

i love steam too, but you're sort of being a retarded fanboy rn user

OMG. It's true!

Check this out!

>Today sony is going to anounce that their console exclusive IPs will be playable on PC

Nah, I don't need to screenshot your buttpain.

OMG!

It's probably bullshit, but as much as I don't like Sony, I'd welcome them.
Valve has been giving a steadily worse and worse service in the las 4 years, and they really need to have their shit slapped with able competition so they actually start to provide a good servise again.
And it would also put the final nail into M$s coffin and kill the windows store faster than it would die by itself.

Yeah, right.

Playstation Now already exists.

who?

DELETE THIS

yeah and it sucks balls lmao

lmao you tell em lmao

>get a single outside of steam in Battlefield 1
>it's an awful fucking experience with d/c's constantly when I try to enter multiplayer games

Never again. Fuck non-Steam platforms.

All publishers must have own distribution platform on PC.

>Today Sony I going to announce its own PC digital distribution platform to compete with Steam and MS.
It will introduce PC gamers to the glory of paid multiplayer.

>bloodborn on pc
DELETE THIS

>sony product sucks
WOW IM SHOCKED

>Bloodborne

look, PCfag, let me say this simply as possible so you understand

NEVER. EVER.

Xbox already did it and PC is steamrolling all consoles combined when it comes to annual revenue.

Wanna buy some digital gloves, man?
A bargain at $300.

Is it going to have free online multiplayer?

>if they care about money
>going to PC
Whatever you say, piratefag.

It already started though. This has been a thing that Sony has planning and testing for some time now. You can use the current version of it right this very moment for a few PS3 games.

Companies are realizing that making and distributing the consoles is extremely expensive when what matters is the software sales. They can just publish their titles to PC and not have to worry about silliness such as hardware limitations and make full-on AAAA games if they choose to walk that path.

christ that image is old. have an updated one?

>360
>PC is steamrolling all consoles
>360
>PS3
>Wii
Yeah sure.

OP said they were announcing something new today, i thought the streaming shit had been out a few months

what is the point

PC makes more money than every console combined, even with all its pirates.

>/veeeeee/ leaker

LOL NEVER EVER

the only games that make money on pc are free to play and facebook titles

How do you not know this?

arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/01/dont-look-now-but-the-pc-is-the-worlds-biggest-gaming-platform/

OP didn't know about PSNow
Why would they make a new version when PSNow already does this. I'd buy this if it came from gamekult since they leaked the original PC PSNow rumor but not some random user

>Vita is higher than 3DS

That must be old

Shit bait

I highly doubt it, but crazier shit has happened this year.

>GTAV - $205m
>only got one PC release

>every console version combined made $322m

Did you pull those numbers out your ass?

>christ that image is old. have an updated one?

>Digital Earnings

Retail is where console games make most of the money still

It's almost a 3 year old pic, you inept retard.

got a real one?

Those are third-party devs, Nintendo hates third-party.

>GTAV on PC has highest market share out of all platforms

If you're going to post a picture at least pick one that supports your point.

Pretty much this. There is no other way for Sony to get an easier step into the PC market. They know they will be obsolete in the coming years. Their tech will never keep up at the pace the PC is growing.

Xbox is not sleeping either and combining everything with windows 10. The losers are Sony and Nintendo.

>% of developers who are working on a game for the following platforms
>PC makes more money than every console combined, even with all its pirates.
I don't see the connection. Every retard can make a PC indie shitgame or an app.

0/10

I don't think it will happen but I can sort of see a rationale.

Lots of previously PS4 exclusive games come to PC which Sony aren't seeing a cent of. They could force devs to go with their store instead of Steam. Also as a response to Microsoft's recent PC efforts.

...

see

>"Your image doesn't support your point"
>"Well there's other stuff as well that I'm not going to post!"

k

>PS4 saving video games from the mobile market
Susuga, Sony. . .

kek good one

>Lots of previously PS4 exclusive games come to PC
name 20

I CAN NAME THIRTY

Goat Simulator
Gone Home
Hyper Dimension Neptunia
Minecraft
Fez

>arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/01/dont-look-now-but-the-pc-is-the-worlds-biggest-gaming-platform/
>PC/MMO
There is no "PC/MMO market". This is pure bullshit.
MMO players DONT BUY YOUR GAMES!
medium.com/steam-spy/your-target-audience-doesn-t-exist-999b78aa77ae

>casualweebgames
Seems legit

...

Sony does not have the resources to fund that many ports.

But some crappy packaging of PSNow and other streaming stuff, yeah, they would do something that stupid.

Someone post a few of those #4ThePlayers Sup Forums bait images from over the years and we can go through and mark them off.

>99% indie shit and facebook tier games

WEW FUCKING AMAZING FAMILIE

Honestly, I could see Sony doing a timed release thing.
PC gets the games 1 year+ later, after bulk of sales are done.

Its simple as hell to transfer the games to PC so It doesnt seem so far fetched, especially with Sony as a wholes financial situation theyd probably view it as free potential money.

But lets be real, if they did to it, itd probably be Streaming only with a subscription fee

What do I need to post? Digital console sales are less make up less than 30% of revenue while they make up close to 100% of PC revenue. Retail is very hard to track because every region is different. My point was that the only games that make money on PC are free to play and the top 10 proves that

>2013
hmm

They have one. it's called PSNow and could easily have BB and shit on it

>slide made by nVidia
>PC MOST IMPORTANT GAMING PLATFORM
Yeah, sure Jewvidia, so important.
That's why you did go into bed with Nintendo.
