Yet another VR thread

So with the Touch controllers shipping in 3 days, do I get an Oculus Rift or the Vive?

I was leaning towards the Vive for the roomscale thing but I don't have the space or stable flooring to be stomping around. I also hear that the Oculus tracking is more accurate for a seated/standing setup.

Don't know what else. Rift looks more comfortable to wear, I guess? What do you guys think?

Do you trust Valve or Facebook?

What has Facebook done since they bought Oculus though?

They turned the Oculus platform into a walled garden.

i think the Vive is the obvious answer and i'm putting aside money to get mine.

Obviously Vive. I've tried seated and standing VR, but nothing compares to roomscale.

Oh not to mention Oculus doing the paid exclusive closed platform bullshit.

Reminder: there's still no content for either

>1st generation VR
It'll be at least one more generation before it's actually worth the money, and one more generation beyond that before it's actually fun.

>146 broken tech demos and 2 broken game ports.
Cool.

>sour grapes
Neat.

Good point but you can install Revive. Rift users can play everything out of the box.

No doubt but as I said, I don't have the room for it. If I'm going to be stationary, I should pick the headset with the best close range tracking.

>meme parroting this hard
Next you'll say games with added support don't count because you can just play them on a monitor.

I've played Vive with a single lighthouse sat on my desk about 1-2ft away while playing Lucky's Tale and had no issues.

Look, it's people who defend Mighty No. 9 and No Man's Sky because they're absolutely retarded with money.

i just want to bring a portable itx case with me everywhere while i work on my spreadsheets while looking cyberpunk af

>Not working a comfy ass job with tons of disposable income to do whatever you want with

Despite that... still didn't buy NMS or MN9. Sorry pal. Maybe you could give me the lowdown of what it's like to be retarded without money? :-)

Now you're just making a fucking idiot of yourself.

This isn't something sold on promises by some company head. VR was proven to be good since the devkits came out. You can't dismiss the positive feedback from hundreds of independent users out there.

>memes

Lmao

This VR game looks fun.

st generation VR
Are you trying to wash away the past, or do you really think this is the first generation?

vive is better with the roomscale thing, although you not having space is of course something to consider
the oculus is desperately trying to catch up with those shitty touch controllers
vive is handled by a more competent gaming tech company (valve)
oculus is handled by cuckerberg esq.
in the end i suppose its up to you, but i think htc wins by a longshot

Why the fuck hasn't Sega made any House of The Dead VR game? It's literally best suited for it.

Looks good, I really enjoyed the non-VR version so I'm pretty hype.

LoL

Is this good or bad

Bad. The oculus cameras have linited FOV and thus, the play area is considerably smaller than the real room area. Vive lighthouses have 120° FOV and can cover all of the room area.
