Fuck yes I am

Yes but it needs to hurry the hell up.

I expect it to be better than the original and the DLC, but I like edgy characters with scythes and cloaks so I'm probably biased.

Hell yeah I am

>indieshit with pixel garbage
Nope.

Have you played every good REAL 8-bit sidescroller?
>No
Then why play a knockoff?

How do you guys think king knight will play? When's battle mode coming out?

i kind of wish they would just do a true sequel. theyre doing a king knight after this one but i feel like the same levels and bosses are definitely gonna feel stale the fourth time around. it is cool that theyre doing something different with the story this time though, with the enchantress in cutscenes and a boss fight vs shield knight

I'm extremely excited. That trailer pretty much shook my expectations.

>hating on pixels just because pixels
why
because i loved classic megaman
been wondering about king knight, he doesnt really have any special weapons or powers so hopefully hes not just a shovel knight clone

>indie
>platformer
>pixelshit
>chiptunes

hell no.

SJW garbage

Looks more fun than Plague, but to be fair I didn't give that one a proper chance

explain
plague felt weird to me at first but it gets better when you get the hang of the mechanics

played first game, it was great, controlled a bit weird but overall was great

played plague knight and I hated everything about it.. hopefully specter nice will be more akin to my tastes

>I expect it to be better than the original and the DLC
Pretty much this.
Mainly because I gave up trying to figure the jumping mechanics in Plague of Shadows.

Nah, never finished the main game. It was just too tedious, repetitive, and dull with non of the charm of older games.

I had the same bitch with plague knight, never bothered finishing that one. Shovel knight original was fun though

...

But Plauge of shadows was better than the base game
There are casings that help platforming. one lets you float if I remember correctly

Shovel Knight was solid
Plague Knight was tricky at first, but once the customization options and the jumping mechanics clicked, it became god-tier
Can't wait for Specter Knight, which is honestly an entirely new game for fucking free

Plague was legit better than SK. Sorry you guys are bad at video games.

Hoping Specter Knight will have a lot of new content. Much as I liked Plague Knight, I did get an "I've done this before" feeling throughout the game.

Will this update be for all platforms that the game is on? Or only some?

sorry to offend you with my lack of skill MLG shovel knight player.

I felt differently. I didn't recognize most of the levels but maybe that's because I hadn't played it in a while

That might be why. Still, I did like Plague Knight, I thought it was fun.

The fact that there seems to be so much new shit is great. Plague's campaign was fine, but so much of it was retreading old ground with a character who was not really suited to navigating those levels. Specter's campaign looks like it reworks a lot of stuff specifically for him.

Trailer makes it seem like there's a whole lot of new stuff. Old bosses return but every fight seems to be changed somehow to make use of the wall running and other mechanics. The leves they've shown looked completely unfamiliar, and I doubt they're all just challenge stages. Plus there's the past Levels with his old Partner.

Is Propeller Knight going to be a frustrating pain in the ass again? Beating him as Plague was a fucking nightmare.

Yeah, the trailer does make it seem like it's an entirely new experience, with a few old things thrown in. I may end up like it more than Plague Knight and the original.

By the way, is this update for all platforms or just some? I forget if Plague Knight was for everything.

yooooo when is this coming

That was my worry. I loved the Plague Knight campaign but I was worried Specter would be the same levels a third time that new mechanics just wouldn't be able to save
Luckily it all looks pretty different

They showed a trailer? I missed it. Do we have a release date at last?

All platforms

Spring

+1 XD

Spring

It's gonna be a great day

Im hyped as FUCK

yes

shovel knight is the golden standard that all indie games should be held to

>speed
>more speed
>you can slash anything
>wall climbing

I'm stupidly excited.

I hope they make it hard as fuck

new level designs are great, but I hope there's like maybe 1 or 2 more new locations too. of course they're doing all these updates for free so I can't expect anything too crazy

>They're making another free expansion
>They have more planned
The absolute madmen somebody don't stop them.

>Spring 2017

WHY IS EVERYTHING SPRING 2017?! Nier Automata, Nintendo Switch, Sonic Mania. I hate to wait!

>Make game
>Stretch goal to make playable boss knight campaigns
>Could just throw boss knight into Shovel Knight's game and call it a day
>Make completely remixed levels and a new story with Plague Knight
>Make a new fucking game with Specter Knight
>They do it for free

We don't deserve Yacht Club

Forgot my picture

I'm in the minority that loved the base game but didn't like the Plague Knight DLC at all (the writing was fun but Plague himself felt awful to play as and made me really hate the game). I'm looking forward to this next one though. I'm most looking forward to seeing King Knight's story.

Yacht Club games resembles third parties when they were good. The way Konami and Capcom used to be in the early '90s.

They're the hero the industry needs

>completely remixed levels
lol no

I wasn't too crazy about Plague Knight, but I did like it, and was happy that Yacht Club games was willing to do this without charging us.

I'll never get the hate for the way Plague knight plays. Zipping around with bomb blasts and managing your air control with bomb throws was so fun

>people actually miss out on great games just because they're "indie"

lel

I didn't really like plague knight either, never really got used to the controls

>WHY IS EVERYTHING SPRING 2017
jesus christ you're right.

I can't take it! I wish I could cryogenically freeze myself and wake up in spring.

Agreed, hope his movement options are as fun as Plague Knight, loved being able to go FAST and skip like half the level with jump tricks

>All these casuals

youtube.com/watch?v=R_Y4PKZrC00

I said I liked it, just wasn't all that crazy about it. Plague Knight wasn't hard either. I don't know how this meme got spread around that Plague Knight is some really difficult game because it isn't. Plague Knight himself isn't hard to control either.

>Zipping around with bomb blasts and managing your air control with bomb throws was so fun
I'll admit most all of my frustration came from never getting a hang of how that works. Flying at different trajectories despite seemingly putting in the same inputs. There were countless times where I flew into pits because of this stuff. I also hated accidentally using the carpet bomb move and losing all momentum and getting hit or dieing because of that.

>never really got used to the controls
Exactly.

I did hear a bunch of people say Plague was really easy which made me even more upset. There's nothing like knowing you're a complete casual for not figuring out this shit.

Yeah I'm kinda excited but why Specter knight?
Why not King knight

Goo Garment is literally the only choice for picking robes. Turns the game CUHRAYZEE with a single purchase.

he's next

YES!

Since Specter Knight is a prequel, watch King Knight be an epilogue about King Knight regaining his riches and getting a new castle

Should I pirate Shovel Knight?

You should buy it

I mean go for it if you want, excellent game. Cheapest it ever goes for on sale is $10, so you make the call

Steam or GOG?

Buy it and support Yacht Club games man. We need more developers like these guys.

While a small team is working on the boss knight updates, the rest of Yacht Club is actually working on a different project. What do you hope it is?

I really hope they make a good Zelda-like game, even though my first choice would have been a co-op game

Really? I remember plague platforming being significantly easier thanks to his abilities

pirate the gog version and donate 20 bux directly to yacht club

i want to say metroid, but there have been so many strong attempts that don't quite get there that i honestly wish people would stop trying to make metroid style games at this point

most of why I sucked at is because I only played a level or two then went to play other games. It very well could be that its easier but I just didnt fall in love with it enough to get the hang of it.

Plague is easy once you get the hang of him, but has a much steeper learning curve than Shovel.

I found him easy to master once it clicked that he essentially has Smash Bros-style mobility. Jump, short double jump, attack that doubles as a third jump.

>least excitement for a landstalker/solstice

todays vidya players are not actually people who play vidya, its just, time passed and it became a normal thing.

You don't even understand the indieshit pixel meme, leddit.

This actually has good pixel-art.

Don't forget, more new music

youtube.com/watch?v=XjKLtJkabss

My money's on Shovel Knight 2 next. Shame, I'd have loved a Spelunky or Landstalker game.

Pretty sure someone from Yacht Club said they'd rather do something new first before 2 so that they wouldn't become "the Shovel Knight studio"

Cool. Not too concerned, I'll be interested in whatever it is they do.

Meant for

>Xbone got a cool stage and boss battle agaist the battletoadds
>Playstation almost got sir daniel but sony say to put Kratos interest

More excited for King Knight
Hope they make it a bit more challenging this time though.

I wish they just had a hard mode instead of NG+. I hate when games do that.

Seriously fuck Sony for that

So... Are all the custom knight features and multiplayer still locked behind a plastic toy? And exclusive to a console Nintendo is killing in favor of the Switch?

Yeah to co-op stuff is

Battle mode, whenever that comes out, is coming out for all platforms though (except handhelds)

REALLY exited. I was initially disappointed that it was taking this long to come out but after that trailer the disappointment turned into pure hype. It looks like a brand new game for fuck's sake.

Can't wait!

Maybe Yacht Club will release Co-Op on PC some other time.

>start up shovel knight again to play Plague of Shadows
>having fun
>Get to Propeller Knight's and Polar Knights Stages
>stop having fun
I hope Spectre Knight makes those levels more enjoyable

>shovel kart
>not excited

what is wrong with people

Are you sure? That is exactly, word for word, what the Steamworld Dig devs said.

Do we have a date?
I want to replay both Shovel Knight and Plague Knight before playing Specter Knight.

Spring.

I played a pirated copy at first. But I grew to love the game so much that I ended up buying it both for PC and Wii U. And got the amiibo.
