The first System Shock is the best game ever made.

I played and beat SS2 for the first time just this week.
I just came out of replaying Bioshock as an invisible wrench salesman and tried doing it in this game.
I quickly regretted my decision and ended up having to play with a pretty mis-specced character.
The first four/five hours were pretty traumatic because I couldn't repair, maintain, or hack anything.
I had to pray every time I entered a fight that my weapons wouldn't break.
But then I had a surplus of nanites and late game I always had maxed out standard weapons with a full condition pistol and pockets full of anti-personnel rounds.
This game is fantastic though and I love it.

My first run was on impossible ISO.

I looked through the tree, saw that the hacking is way way up there and started saving points.

I wrenched and cryoed everything until about 2/3rds of engineering after which I could hack turrets.

Engineering was not a good experience with 16 max hp.

This game is the epitome of a mixed bag. Fantastic atmosphere and exploration, but terrible combat and mechanics.

Could have been 13 too. Can't remember if I had that extra endurance.

I honestly have no idea though, other than trying to go back to Earth with the escape pod.
But that doesn't make sense since it would take fucking forever and the Von Braun has an FTL drive.
