Lol what? How does placement work again?

Where did you end last season?

Last season should not matter.

And yet it does. Answer the question.

If they're just gonna have you calibrate as the same rank as last season why even have the reset+placement matches?

read their website, they said rhere were too ,a in gold/plat so it was hard to accuratly place you in matches with same skill ranks.
So now they take your sr from last season as a bench.
shame because I started in plat and ended up in silver last season, because of this very same reason.
I would win 5 games and get nearly no better, loose one and be worse off. It didn;t help that this gold level clusterfuck circle jerk was a bunch of randoms doing fuck all for the team.

if you were below diamond last season, your rank will be weighted way lower

if you were above diamond, it will be weighted higher

if you don't suck, you'll climb quickly

>Ended with 71 best on S1
>Started plat and stopped right after diamond for s2
>from diamond to master in s3
It definitely does to help with the problems they suffered from the previous two season, having too many people crowding in the middle

64 eliminations spanning 2 hours is pretty bad. same with your damage etc.

>Lose 3 win 7
>Get placed silver

i lost 6 placement matches and have way worse stats than you and still got 2600SR

get rekt nerd

>Go 7-3 in placements
>Get placed diamond

I think you are just bad mate. Skill up is based on your performance relative to other players on the same character. You probably didnt get high enough elims/min, heals/min, depending on what class you play

I lost 6, got 2 draws and got less gold medals and ended up in 3800 from being in mid diamond last season

If I hadn't played any of the previous competitive seasons, does that mean I'll probably get ranked low anyways? I had just got to level 25 in time for season 3 and had 4 loses and one draw, then 5 straight wins to end up in gold. I wasn't expecting to be ranked any higher, I'm just curious.

u praobly tied to bronze players so the game decided u were shit

What a scrub. I lost 9 out of my 10 games and ended up mid gold. Fucking premades man. They always suck total dick and bring the rest of the team down with them in their attempt to get higher.

It's actually 400 elims

retard.

learn how to read.

My team had Koreans. The game was unwinnable.

I think it work with how much you carried your team in the game because i won 7 or 8 game and lost 2 or 3 i don't remember and i got gold.

Im guessing your mmr was already low before you started playing the placements. I'm pretty sure unranked uses a hidden MMR system.

Rank is based on more things than just wins and losses in placements. The biggest thing is who you are matched against in your placements is based on previous performance, so if you were a gold in the previous season it'll put you against other golds, and going 10-0 aagainst other golds might put you in Plat but it won give you master like you might think you deserve. And complaining about placements is pretty pointless as they don't have enough data to even come close to accurately representing your actual skill level. Bottom line is if you belong in a bracket you'll eventually end up there if you play enough.

I carried my team every match. I should've placed diamond. But Blizzard is fucking retarded.

Winning against players should put you against higher skilled players not keep you at the same level.

Placement is pointless in the way Blizz is using it. The season shouldn't even reset if it's just going to force you back into the same rank as last season.

Yes user, it's definitely everyone's fault but your own.

>was in platinum last season
>in gold cause of Jeff
Fucking

>end s2 at 2940
>go 5/5 on s3 placements
>Gold elims on one of the games we lost as Lucio
>2189 SR to start

Fuck. That. Solo sucks when you're a support main. Even more when you're getting Gold Medals for healing every game even against Mercy mains.

And it probably does, but it's a 10 game sample size do you think it's suddenly going to put you against diamonds because you won a couple games against low plats? Besides how much do you think the average persons skill changed In the week off? It makes absolutely no sense to throw out all your previous data and try to accurately place everyone based off 10 games. The fact of the matter is if your at a bracket from previous seasons your there for a reason and most people won't fluctuate much without actually putting the work in.
