...

That's how I keep describing the game.
The gameplay itself is fun. Enjoyable and even pleasant to look at. The whole story presentation (mostly just all the cutscenes for me) are trash and boring. Samus looks hot, I give them that, but that is not the decisive factor in a game for me.

HEY PRINCESS

ANY OBJECTIONS LADY???

IT WAS AT THAT POIONT THAT I HAD REALIZED WHAT ADAM WAS REALLY TRYING TO ACOMPLISH THAT PERFECT MLITARY MIND HE WAS ALWAYS THE COLDEST PERSON TO ME BUT I KNOW DEEP DOWN HE REALLY CARED THAT WAS JUST HIS WASY OF SHOWING THAT HE CARED WHENEVER HE OWULD BRIEF THE TEAM IW OULD GTIVEV A THUMBS DOWN THIS SGINIFIEIEWD TWO THINGS ONE MY APROOPOVOPAL FOI F THE AMISSION AND THE FACT THAT I ALSO DIDSAPGEREADDA WITH EVERYTINH FHWAS TELLING ME TO DO THE BABY THE MEMTORID BABY METORID MOTHER BRAIN WAS NOW IN CONTROL OF THE ENTIRE FACIALITY AND THAT ADAM THAT DAGBABY MOTHER BRAIN

The gameplay is a fucking abortion and you should be drawn and quartered for making such a deplorable post.

The gameplay is one of the worst things about it though. It's atrocious. Some of the most shallow combat I've seen in an action game

It's fun.

Spam tap the directional pad, suddenly you're Neo in the Matrix

The gameplay wasnt really shit, maybe the controls were bizarre, but the gameplay was neat.
Plot is bullshit btw, metroidrones are crybabies

...

Worst-looking ZSS this side of MP2.

I like going jump and shoot with an arm canon. It wasn't Megaman X but neither am I OP and went with a 8/10.
Should have made that one clearer

I've never seen a game manage to just get everything wrong. Everything. There's almost no redeemable aspect to Other M beyond "it's not buggy"

>Awful writing and poor story pacing
>Completely misses the point and appeal of Metroid's aesthetic and story telling concepts
>Area design is incredibly generic and sterile
>Combat is nearly broken. Mashing the d-pad literally makes you invulnerable
>By far the worst soundtrack in a Metroid game
>Visuals are ugly, everything looks plastic

>nintendo publishes this and federation force
>while taking down AM2R
They don't give a shit about quality I tell you

Same OP, I played through it once and while I didn't find it a good game, or even a pretty game, it didn't hit me how "Terrible" it was until Sup Forums brought it up. In my playthrough I thought the gameplay outside of the pixel hunts wasn't terrible (didn't realize how abusable the dodge ability was though) and there were a few moments where I had fun (fighting the anomalocaris thing)

I didn't like Adam and I didn't like how he does that half ass suicide at the end but overall I wasn't enraged. However as shoddy as the gameplay is we all know what Sup Forums was the most angry about.

Apparently, despite loving most of all the metroid games, I was never offended by the personality Sakomoto placed on Samus.

I didn't like her voice acting and I didn't quite think it sat well with what I imagined prior, but I could not understand the immense rage Sup Forums held towards the character.

Then I realized that Sup Forums had been making a personal idea of samus that was a lot different from mine.

Dont forget the brilliance of Switching to first person to shoot missles, where you cant move, in a game about fast paced action, and is actually pretty unresponsive.

Actually there is a game breaking bug that would make you unable to progress without restarting completely, so it couldn't even get that right

i kinda want to agree with you, but the gameplay was pretty bad, however it has a lot of potential, the biggest problem was the decision to use the wii mote sideways only, that was the single killing factor for the gameplay.

There are some salvageable things about the plot, I really liked samus' relationship with the big black man, he was a pretty nice character.

Just give the game a proper controller, and better level design, and a more Metroid story telling, and you would have had a better game. Sure it sounds like basically changing the entire game, but rather i mean using it as base for a better one, that's what initially meant with "potential"

Having said all of that, fuck your score, this game is at best a 5/10

...

What's the problem with taking it sideways?
Taking the controller sideways was probably an attempt to evoke pseudo-nostalgia by reminding of a NES controller. It still felt sufficient for the gameplay. If anything I wish they had made me press A + B to aim missiles with the D-pad. I didn't want to break the flow of the combat by aiming at the screen.

Is this Cody?

You forgot the invisible wall that blocks players from getting a missile expansion.

if they wanted to evoke pseudo nostalgia then they could have used a 2d level design, because 3d movement with a dpad is complete ass. They could have easily used the nunchuck, it would had been a more enjoyable experience, and made the evasion less bullshit.

I'm glad you could find enjoyment out of something that most people don't like. Good for you.
