During the sales period that matters to publishers, yes.
>create anti-piracy system so intrusive that people don't even bother to buy the game let alone pirate it
Guess it works!
Piracy will always be around since Nintendo is shit at hardware security.
Like said, it does the job.
However, I just stopped playing my copy of Deus Ex Mankind Divided that I pirated, alongside DOOM. It's not a silver bullet.
spotted the poorfag
spotted the moneyfucker
t. 60 dollar bag of shitface
It's the silver bullet to profit as well. Pirates are patient.
What we've seen is, the silver bullet for piracy is not making good games.
>the first weeks are all that matters since that's where the bulk of the sales are made
>d-d-don't show that all the denuvo games have sold massively fewer copies than the previous games, it's not fair, those games have been out for m-much l-longer
mildly agreed, but it's not a fair comparison because the newer games are even more shit than the older ones
Haven't bought a game in like 4 years.
before then I had spend thousands on a 360 and a stack of games I will never play again.
Waited patiently for mgs5 and doom to get cracked.
Sure OP, Think whatever you want.
>It's looking that way.
It's the whole reason why I haven't bought doom 4 yet.
>he plans on buying d44m.
heh, nothin personal kid.
> the newer games are even more shit than the older ones
Since you value fairness, this did not stop bioshock infinite from selling, or any annual BF/CoD.
objectively, games with Denuvo perform much, much better during sales compared to non denuvo ones
which implies strong pirate to customer conversion
Doom 4 has been cracked tho and Deus Ex even got cracked the only Denuvo games that don't get cracked are bad ones, also they all have had poor.
>silver bullet for piracy
apparently
>silver bullet for increase of revenue
lolno
in other words: surgery successful, patient dead.
bioshock infinite also had a very large marketing campaign and was one of the most known series at the time
also i preordered it without knowing they ruined the game
Bad games are
For short term one to six month launch "windows"; yes, Denuvo is a strong demerit against piracy. After that gap? Most all the games worth half a damn (i.e. popular) are getting cracked. Just in the last month Deus Ex MD and God Eater were busted open. Seems to be happening at a clip of one every 3-5 weeks.
I ain't even mad. If I want the game that bad to play it at launch, I spent the 35 bucks for a key off Greenman/G2A/CDKEYS and enjoy. If I even hesitate for a week, I want for the crack in two months. Not like my backlog is going to evaporate.
Only devs who are aware their game is trash and still want to sell it use Denuvo.
Prove me wrong, Sup Forums
Pro tip: you can't
Seems so. Until they realize pirates do buy games, and the lower sales are a direct result of the impossibility to pirate.
This
Same here.
Denuvo games run like shit alot of the time and inevitably get cracked anyway
If that was true, then Denuvo is a failure, seeing the sales of Denuvo games.
Nothing suggests this.
Dishonored 2 was alright. FPS issues.
>alright
>poorly optimized
Pick one.
Is it optimization issues or is it a wait 2 years for the actually required hardware to become standard (like System Shock 1)?
MGS5 got cracked as well.
Optimization.
>Piracy will always be around since Nintendo is shit at hardware security.
Nobody cares for kiddos pirating 3DS toys.
>create anti-piracy system so intrusive that people don't even bother to buy the game let alone pirate it
>Guess it works!
It worked so well I dropped digital (and PC) altogether and switched to PS4 physical.
BUY OUR GAMES PLEASE
This
Every Denuvo game sold like shit compared to previous entries
Meanwhile Fallout 4, and Witcher 3 outsold all Denuvo games
Total War Warhammer is the best selling game in the franchise
If the game is good, people will buy game regardless of having Denuvo in it.
Yeah, Denuvo finally killed off PC for good.
Now, third world cancer can go back playing SNES and PS2 games.
Do you honestly believe the average consumer bothers to investigate what anti-piracy measures are being used for each game and then bases their purchasing decisions upon that information?
>PC gaming
>average consumer
...
No, but millions of people pirate games before they buy them (or not).
And if we can't do that, we won't be buying them until they're 60%+ off.
...
No it isn't
...
what was the implication of this
>muh mustard race
This is not the days of BIOS, DOS, manual memory allocation and so on. The combination of the modern Windows OS and Steam has lowered the bar to the stage where your average PC gamer is every bit as retarded as your average console kid.
Have you seen Steam reviews?
>this 2016 AAA game won't run on the ultimate gaming PC I bought from Alienware in 2009, 1/10 would not recommend to a friend
They are the ones cracking all the Denuvo games and doing it properly and fast unlike that 3 meme fag chink group.
Based.
CPY is the one group who can crack the latest version of Denuvo.
Why do people dislike Denuvo? Besides the fact that's it's an effective anti-piracy method, of course, why do people in the this thread who apparently buy games hate it?
Yeah funny reviews were a mistake
Still, they're jokes, don't take them seriously
>FIFA 16 = BYPASSED BY TURK DM
>PES 2017 = CRACKED BY CPY
>RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER = CRACKED BY CPY
>INSIDE = CRACKED BY CPY
>DOOM = CRACKED BY CPY
>MIRROR'S EDGE: CATALYST = CRACKED BY CPY
>GOD EATER RESURRECTION = CRACKED BY CPY
>YESTERDAY ORIGINS NEWER VERSION = CRACKED BY CPY
>Deus Ex: Mankind Divided = CRACKED BY CPY
>FIFA 15 = CRACKED BY CPY
>LORDS OF THE FALLEN = CRACKED BY CPY
>DRAGON AGE INQUISITION = CRACKED BY CPY
>BATTLEFIELD HARDLINE = CRACKED BY CPY
>BATMAN ARKHAM KNIGHT = CRACKED BY CPY
>MAD MAX = CRACKED BY 3DM
>METAL GEAR SOLID V = CRACKED BY 3DM (FIXED BY CPY)
Only poorfags complain about Denuvo.
Now go mow the lawn you little faggot so you can buy those 5$ shitty indie games lamo
>spend a shit load of money putting DRM on your game so people wont pirate it
>people who pirate normally still dont buy it
>people who do buy it still do
The idea that the majority of the people who pirate are going to buy the game instead is pretty laughable. I used to pirate games like dishonored 1, far cry, or whatever the current release game is, but now they've got Denuvo so I don't buy them because they seriously aren't worth $70-80 for a game I may just end up not enjoying at all.
At least before I may have talked with friends about the game or participated in threads online about them, and I'm sure there's many other people out there who do the same, so now their shitty games have a much weaker online presence because people who previously did pirate and play the games now can't and fewer people talk about it online for others to hear about it.
It's yet another DRM layer
Steam is DRM but at least it has some good parts
I assume at some point CPU is gonna share the method.
So more groups are gonna end up doing it.
Its also possible Publishers will just figure out denvuo doesn't realy boost sales.
And abandon it all together.
Unless it becomes cheaper.
How long will people make denuvo threads?
>Steam is DRM but at least it has some good parts
Only good part of Steam is that it's literally a 5 minute job to bypass.
>Its also possible Publishers will just figure out denvuo doesn't realy boost sales.
It does though. Not that I'd expect Sup Forums to understand that publishers aren't looking for a permanent fix to piracy, they just want it to be uncrackable during the launch so a few thousand more people get swept up in the hype and buy it.
How long until the PS4 gets games for them to play instead?
Is it? I don't know, for me pretty much nothing has changed. It takes longer to get cracks for some games, yeah, but I don't need to unplug my disk dvd drive or jump through other hoops like in the olden times. It's definitely nowhere near as bad as it used to be.
It's the fact that it's a community which can be decent for fixes and big enough to be relevant
Refunds recently, the fact that you can keep your account and still have the same games on different pcs
Digital ownership which allowed me to not need a dvd drive
A bigger market for more devs to easily make their games available
Denuvo games all are worse than their prequels for whatever reason. Thats the 1 combining factor.
>so intrusive
I don't get this at all. I own legit Deus Ex and Doom and I didn't notice anything intrusive in them.
It intrudes on pirates' abilities to get free games.
>pirate everything before i decide whether or not to buy it, unless there's a demo
>there are less and less demos, and now more devs are using denuvo
wew lad - it's like they're trying to sell shitty games for 60 bucks to retards who don't know the value of a dollar or something
doesn't really affect me since the games will eventually be cracked and i have other hobbies
What a violation. I'm going to stop buying this sick games forthwith.
Yes.
If you can crack JC3, i will blow up Denuvo Headquarters in austria.
Im a ISIS member
>Im a ISIS member
Wait a minute... it isn't three years ago right now...
>1 year on, and people who can crack Denuvo did a weeks old re-release of a 2011 handheld weeb game over this
More like JUST Cause 3, amirite?
user, Just Cause 3 is the HARDEST denuvo game to crack.
Some Programmer user in here even admit it long time ago.
Fuck off pajeet. But before you go, how much does Denuvo pay you to shill for them anyway, out of interest?
>programmer
>means he knows shit about Denuvo
Well I'm a programmer too and I can tell you it's the EASIEST Denuvo game to crack.
I'm the president of Denuvo and I can tell you it doesn't actually use our code, they just lied about it and nobody found out.
60000 मेरे दोस्त रुपया।
Denuvo बस क्योंकि 3 पर दरार करने के लिए सचमुच असंभव है: ')
To be fair, Just Cause 3 was pretty universally declared as garbage. Better and more recent games with Denuvo already got cracked.
Tell us more fuckface.
Oh wait, you cant, dogshit.
>source: literally anybody from a chinese image sharing forum
Search Denuvo threads in archive faggot.
Don't be butthurt Denuvocuck
My point still stands, fagola.
Making shit games is the best silver bullet for pirates.
Chinks cant speak english, whitefag.
Niggers can't be human, cotton picker.
So you are saying buyfags are just cucks then?
Why are people buying Denuvo when it provides absolutely nothing for them?
Imagine if someone could invent a pill that would take away Cancer for 1 Year, before it starts again, medical groups would market it as the "CURE FOR CANCER" not telling you the dosage doubles every time again.
That is the current trend of anti-piracy in the gaming industry. Every cycle, anti-piracy measures become more difficult to crack, more expensive to license, and more intrusive on the lives of gamers who were never meant to be on the receiving end of the anti-piracy measures.
Developers,Studios, and Publishers pay more to security groups for "NEW, UPGRADED, FUCKPIRATESINTHEASS V33.7 ANTI-PIRACY MEASURES" and end up having to find a way to shoe horn this completely new, arbitrary chunk of software into their game and engine. If you've got no programming experience, imagine it this way: You're writing a book. But to protect your book from being photocopied/scanned, you decide to pay someone an extraordinaire amount to have it printed on special paper, and this special paper also requires you to have a "break phrase" inserted randomly in paragraphs so "stop" automated book-capture-cameras. It'd fuck up your book pretty badly to have to, literally, write around these random "breaks" you're now forced to introduce. Any beyond that, this special paper causes some people eye strain so bad that it makes it so they cannot read your book at all. Causing unintentional issues with paying customers with no ill-intent, all due to your decision to make the book "uncopyable". But also, your publisher now requires it. Oh, and when you want to put out that sequel? Expect to pay more for a new version of this "uncopyable" system your publisher requires you to use. And expect MORE "breaks" and even more difficult to read paper.
Also: The above situation with the "uncopyable" paper and phrases, that's getting implemented into College textbooks soon. And the digital versions are getting additional DRM that may even block non-HDCP external connections.
>text books are moneymaking scams
What a revelation.
