Nintendo should be able to get their money back through selling games, whereas phone manufacturers won't get any money apart from when they sell the phone.

These were the prices from amazon (cheapest easily found) and the shit phone was from argos.

I'm using an Android phone with 512mb of RAM running Marshmallow.
It runs fine on lower end devices. Sure it's not as snappy as the newest exploding phone from Samsung but honestly my O3DS lags for longer when quitting a game or going back to the main screen

When they were designing 3ds Nintendo probably bought up crappy bargain surplus parts too old for new electronics to stick in there for maximum jewery.

They're the only relevant handheld game maker right now and phones aren't damaging their sales that badly in Japan so they can charge whatever they want.

You're not buying 3DS for the games, you buy for the POSSIBILITY to play games. Each game has a much more justified price tag than 3DS itself.
