Is it true pic related is better than Prime 1?
Is it true pic related is better than Prime 1?
yes
I don't believe for, but it goes to more extremes than Prime 1. The highs are higher and the lows are lower. If only they had the time to finish and polish it.
Prime has overall better areas and progression.
Prime 2 has a shitload of bosses and I can't think of one that's not fun.
>Prime 2 has a shitload of bosses and I can't think of one that's not fun.
Boost Guardian, Spider Guardian are pretty tedious.
Quadraxis is amazing though. Especially if you're skilled enough to skip the Dark Suit.
overall, yes. however prime has none that's as good as sanctuary fortress.
so basically what this guy said
What Metroid accomplishment are you most proud of?
Anyone else feel Sanctuary is out of place? Doesnt feel like the rest of the game at all, has a massive city of lights area visible under it which is not visible from any other area in the game. The rest of the areas meshed together really well.
Item progression wasn't as good, beam ammo felt unnecessary.
>beam ammo felt unnecessary.
fag
None of the new beams are any more useful than the ones in Prime 1, and in some ways they're a step back.
All of the beams are consistently high in utility because of the light/dark affinities and ammo system.
In Prime 1 you just used whatever beam you most recently acquired on everything unless the enemy type forced you to use something completely fucking useless like the Wave Beam pirates.
1 was a masterpiece. 2 and 3 were progressively worse.
Hunters is shit.
I found this to be pretty neat
>All of the beams are consistently high in utility because of the light/dark affinities and ammo system.
Not really, the dark beam dominates because it's charge shot is a guaranteed kill when paired with a missile, and it even works on a lot of dark aether enemies.
But that consumes a lot of ammo, so you can't rely on that strategy all the time.
>can't rely on that strategy all the time.
You absolutely can, if you know how to game the ammo system.
It's personal preference. I love it more, myself. It has bigger and better and more frequent boss fights, the level themes are less generic than 1's, the setting is a lot darker, the lore is great etc. At the same time the game was a bit unfinished, so the dark worlds aren't quite as fleshed out as they should be.
Metroid Prime is terrible. Echoes is even worse.
fuck no
shit taste
Prime is the only 3d Metroid that matters
2 is full of contrived stupid mechanics and powerups because all the good ideas were already used in the first one. Just like all the good area ideas, so in 2 all the areas look the same though since you spend half the game in the pitch black alternate world it doesn't really even matter.
You don't have to tell me how bad your preferences are, I already know
Sanctuary Fortress is inspired, and some powerups like the Screw Attack are great additions.
I'm still not sure if what's around Sanctuary is a huge city, or a glittering ocean. It makes sense that the moth guys would have a city somewhere, but yeah, the skybox doesn't match up at all with the map.
Ing Hive was pretty spooky. It's hard to tell if the purple smog is so thick you can't see very far, or if the purple's all there is in that area and the Hive is floating in a void.
Yeah, until you emulate it.
