I don't know if it is good to be honest.
I've 100% it, and it is very repetitive in gameplay.
It doesn't provide anything new or fresh unlike Saints Row or GTA.

I think he's speaking Cantonese, but for the sake of the person playing it, he's speaking English.

He understands it pretty decently if his conversations with Mrs. Chu are anything to go off. He's just more comfortable with English, just as she's more comfortable with Cantonese but can understand it pretty well. It's actually one of the things they did pretty well in the whole dynamic of Wei not really knowing where he belonged.

It has a good soundtrack, decent vehicular combat and a setting that hasn't been done before. That's really it.

The melee combat gets old quick, the gunplay is subpar, the writing is mediocre, it has pointless celebrity cameos that did nothing but waste budget.

Sleeping Dogs was way too small.
Too back rockstar will never tackle the HK region (even taking place in the distant future), they're the only ones who do scale well.

Except he didn't. The reason Wei is undercover in the first place because he knew the gang when he was younger because they had all grown up together, like when he stabbed Dogeyes. He was even recognized by Jackie Ma in like the first scene of the game.

He grew up in San Francisco from what I remember and moved back to HK after his sister died. I think he spoke Cantonese in the prologue.

Macau is small enough to do a 1:1 conversion and it's been much denser/bigger than Las Vegas for at least a decade now.
