With UMvC3 coming to pc in march, I want to pickup a fightstick. What is a quality, well priced one? I don't want to spend a ton of money on a $300 fightstick and end up not using it.
Also, is a fightpad any good?

Hori Rap 4 Kai is a good stick to start out with. I also recommend using a Hitbox because it's pretty easy to learn, despite the odd layout.
However, do note that sticks don't magically make you better, in fact you're gonna be playing even worse trying to learn stick. So if your execution is ass on pad, it's gonna be shittier on stick.

I know that. I just want to use one. I used one years ago on my ps2 with tekken. Loved the feel, but haven't wanted to use a stick for skullgirls and finally I will have the opportunity to play UMvC3 again and really want to use it.

I'm playing it currently on the ps4 w/ stick, the game is great and very complex. Unfortunately the netcode is terrible with no improvements over previous versions.

The Mayflash F300 is a solid stick that's quite affordable and works on both 7th/8th gen systems and PC. Great place to start - buying a really high quality stick first isn't always a good idea, you may end up hating it.

I'm not saying the game will be bad. But you have to remember that it isn't coming out until the end of 2017. And, as previously stated, it could be a big mess, just like SFV.

People like to meme it up, but I do enjoy using mine a lot. Being able to do reaction DPs, sliding 180s and double qcfs is nice. I still can't pull off a standing 720 in an actual match though.

Fighting games die notoriously fast on PC with the main long lasting games being NRS games lol and capcom ones which went from "Capcom treats this platform as an afterthought" to "Capcom has a crossplay game that is shitty on multiple platforms"

Hitbox is significantly more comfortable to use, the buttons themselves being the same as a regular sticks and them being spaced out in a better way makes them significantly better than a keyboard.
