Why would meaningless posts on an anonymous message board have any effect on a bad developer that makes bad games

>Did we help usher in the end of Bioware?
Didn't really end them. TOR is actually doing fine now going the Single Player story mode route.

Old Bioware is dead though and has been dead for a long time.

Sup Forums memed a presidential candidate to a win. Don't underestimate this place.

>Did we help usher in the end of Bioware?
Of course we fucking didn't. We just had a laugh at the expense of a horrible game.

And besides, as it turns out, we're not talking about "the end of Bioware" by a long shot (even TOR has broke even), although that of course doesn't mean gigantic opportunities missed through utter incompetence aren't worthy of some schadenfreude.

Newfags will say we didn't, but they're jaded about the people who couldn't move on from TOR and wanted every game to sink. Sup Forums was the only place that showed every single problem with this game, and Bioware couldn't DING DONG BANNU us from our own site so their disinformation couldn't spread.

So where did the Sup Forums movement against agendas, journalism and SJWs unofficially start? Gone Home? Dragon Age 2? Bioshock Infinite? Diablo 3?

>Did we help usher in the end of Bioware?

Give me a fucking break. A bunch of NEETs shitposting on a Mongolian basket-weaving forum didn't have anything to do with all of the catastrophically bad decisions that Bioware made.

2009. It all started in 2009 with Anita, and then it snowballed into what it is today.

That militant bitch is the cause of all of this.

Give me a specific date, and a specific event.

Otherwise, *citation needed*

Please kill yourself.

Sup Forums

2008 and chanology is when you faggots started thinking this site was your own personal army base.

We did nothing. Bioware and EA did it to themselves. You don't make an MMO a single player driven storyline focused game. The game crashed because it failed at being a multiplayer game and there was fuck all to do outside of your class's storyline.

Yes. No. And now this board suffers because there are only shitposters looking for the next big failure.

we were always like this newf*g haha

...

>Game is still alive and thriving
>financially successful
>just recently had an expansion
I never understood unironically calling TOR a disaster post-launch.

...

>Sup Forums memed a presidential candidate to a win.
Hillary being a pretentious idiot made her lose the election by making huge swaths of voters not even bother to go to the polls. And many that did go to the polls voted against her, just out of spite.

Trump and Sup Forums didn't influence a win. Hillary just lost to herself. For the second time.

...

He was joking faggot.

>any bioware game
>good
I never understood people believing this unironically

...

I recently started to come back to this game just to try out some MMO games I have not touched in a long time.

I played during release, took a break for a year, then played for a few months again. Getting back they have pretty much shredded most enjoyable aspects of the game and the only reason I continue to play is to enjoy -some- of the story for the better written classes.

TOR is a massively successful game, tho. Has made them money hand over fist

From what I understand, it wasn't even "Bioware". EA just bought out a Austin-based company and slapped the Bioware label on them.

Baldur's Gate was good desu

...

Anons pointed out what was wrong with the concept, argued with those that disagreed, it turned into a shouting match where one side was capable of pointing to new evidence and shouting "HA, TOLD YOU SO" on a near-constant basis. Lesser minds saw this as prophecy and began hating on games they had no interest in, or a vendetta against as if it would cause their complaints to become reality.
A solid half decade of Poe's Law taking action gets you this constant stream of arguing and crying shill we have today

...

If you insist

I was.

I fucking loved them.

...

hahahHAHAHAHAHHA

...

>Being this delusional
Bioware is one of the biggest game devs this gen. They are getting a lot of funding to make whatever they want today, they even got a twitter girl to write for ME, because even if it´s shitty, people would buy it. Fucking basement dweller thinking they even made a dent.

>he thinks Sup Forums influences a large enough playerbase to make a difference large enough to "usher in the end" of a company

I'd say, if anything, the people who spent money on it to spite Sup Forums made more of a difference.

And nice cognitive dissonance tell by immediately calling anyone who thinks differently a "newfag"

...

I readily enjoy this game.

It's almost as if Sup Forums isn't a hivemind.

...

People were hyped before Old Republic came out. The game came out and it was a disappointment. Then the TORtanic memes started.

Bioware did it to themselves. Sup Forums didn't make Old Republic bad with negative marketing.

Bullshit, "started with anita". this place just slowly began to make fun of 'gamer girls' on social media as they cropped up, and it naturally progressed as the userbase increased in size, more people got involved in video games, and things went more 'public' online. No one event 'started' a widespread opinion.

So now that you're basically the Emperor in the game now, where the fuck are they going to go/ story to tell?

...

>DA2
Good times.

Shitting on Bioware ever since the ME3 tricolor ending has been one of favourite pastimes.

youtube.com/watch?v=hMcVZQI6ybw

Not sure about the end of Bioware.
But the end of Sup Forums, almost certain

Well, as it turns out, microtransactions schemes can be crazy profitable if you manage to harness in even a relatively small group of die-hard drones.

However, let's not kid ourselves. There's no arguing TOR has broke even at this point, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a blunder of enormous magnitude. We don't even need to concern ourselves with a question if it was well-made or not (it was pathetic) but it had the recipe for what should have been a guaranteed success (using one of the most valuable brands out there for starters) and the fact that it was forgotten very quickly by the general public counts as a huge blunder regardless of if it eventually broke even or not.

Baldur's Gate was more Black Isle than Bioware

from the glory days of shitposting the XboxRepublic into the ground

Does anyone have that old picture where that guy was like
>Of course it doesn't suck, I'm playing it!

There you go, user

I probably have a full post too but I found the cropped version first

...

Smacking down rebellions? Dunno.

What about the one where the guy was talking about his gaming computer he bought from Best Buy?

...

ToR is on of two things: a bad dead MMO or a thoroughly mediocre Old republic game.

Neither of which anyone wanted or needed, when are they going to stop dick riding mass effect and make the old republic 3?
I don't care if every character is a pan romantic demisexual Zabrak that's the poorly disguised BLM metaphor, I just want an RPG where I can be a force uses and force choke people who annoy me.

TOR was a disaster post launch though, its taken years to get it into the non disaster state that its in now.

Didn't help that even legit fans of the game were being banned for posting legitimate criticism on their forums over broken things

...

HAHAHAAH

...

The Jack Thompson era started it as people started getting really butthurt against the media.

From there it spiraled out of control as people started weaving it into an anti-journalism bias and outright paranoia. I still can't believe those retards brought back Jack Thompson and hailed him as an anti-SJW hero though.

Looking back I'm pretty sure this guy was a troll.

he did. its the tropes v videogames anita kickstarter.

> a weapon is 3,000 or 10,000 lines of code

Good old Draton Valley, the meth capital of Canada.

What about that one retard that said a bunch of random shit in chat and no one had any idea what he was saying?

God damn I wish I had saved this shit.

What's it say?

>DING DONG BANNU
What'd ol' Woo get up to after his rine ended?

Bioware will never "die", the studio will simply be renamed EA Canada and the employees that trigger people will be quietly shuffled to a position where they aren't talking to the public.

Had a couple of one on one fights with Janice.
Sheesh, she's amazing with a lightsaber.

TOR was a fiasco until they changed it F2P
now it actually prints money, don't let Sup Forums memers fool you

think he found employment at Best Korea after Bioware fired him

>game has Cantinas
>no one ever goes inside

Maybe instead of spending thousands of man hours on NPC dialogue, they should have put Sabacc and Pazaak into Cantinas. And some kind of chat rooms? Just a thought.
