So how good is this game. It looks pretty gay but also pretty fun, I need some opinions.
Final Fantasy XV

You look pretty gay.
It's an okay RPG but the story is shit. The quick-time events feel juvenile.
>gay
what are you talking about?
the combat is fun. the visuals are obvious they started on the ps3 but they're decent enough. music is awesome. amount of quests is awesome. I like the characters a lot more than I expected
unsure about story. wish the menus were better. combat can get a little wonky but at least there's wait mode. not sure how I feel about fast travelling
get it if you're a FF fan or are looking for an open world game. if you're looking for a 30hr adventure, I'm not sure if it'll be what you're looking for
What is the gameplay like? How long is the game? How much depth does the combat have? I don't want to fall for some Skyrim shit where it looks nice in trailers but it's shit.
Wait for something better like Nioh or Nier Automata
This game offers nothing other games haven't done better, and is extremely unfinished to boot.
it's the best post-FFX FF
would have been perfect if summons and magick didn't suck ass, also second half of the story is meh
Anyone got that webm where they show the TGS 2013 footage and the final product back to back?
This should be illegal.
bump, I want to see it.
Also, what happened? Did they pull some Dark Souls II shit?
More like Spore
Some what? No the game we saw in 2013 simply does not exist anymore. We got a completely different game. The graphical downgrade alone should honestly be illegal.
Yeah the main cast is kinda weird looking, but they grow on you. They have some character development and feel like they look out for you.
I really like the combos and mixups, its really fun to actually play.
Well but they showed footage of the new version prior to release so not exactly the same.
Why should it be illegal?
Seriously. If you game on console, you should expect this you fucking idiot.
>The graphical downgrade alone should be illegal
They're saving it for the PC version.
>Why should it be illegal?
Because im done with bullshots. THis has been going on for more than a decade now. It should be illegal.
ff13, 13-2, and LR are all better
When all the post-purchase rationalization wears off I wonder what people will really say about this game
It's a totally different game. it's not a Low vs Ultra kind of thing. It feels like a different engine and all.
youtu.be
The gameplay is like if Kingdom Hearts was good. That simple. It's fun if sloppy, and wait mode gives you some JRPG feel if you want it.
I'm 30 hours in after reeeeeeeally taking my time. I'm on chapter 8 out of what I would assume is 15. The main story has been fun so far but I can already feel it getting worse as I approach the linear half of the game.
There are toooooons of missions, with the Hunts and Dungeons being a shit ton of fun. You will breeze through the lackluster main story if you're trying to, but honestly just don't try to. You'll have more fun dicking around.
The map itself is pretty great, and exploring feels nice. Your team is absolutely lovable,, which makes downtime a joy. Noctis himself is meh (his main attribute is being sleepy...), but the crew makes up for it.
Side characters range from fun to pointless, and so far the main villain (purple-haired fedora man) is a joke.
I look forward to putting a ton of hours into this game, and it's definitely an 8 or so out of 10, maybe 9 when all the dlc is out, but I'm not sure if this shit was worth 10 years. Oh well. I like it
But Kingdom Hearts has much better combat.
>people are so cucked by SE they pretend to like the game and will patiently wait for DLC
actually sad
Oh I forgot to mention. Magic is stupid and summons are broken. I'd go into further detail, but that really sums it up.
No it doesn't.
All right, i play FF XV too, is a great game, with fun combat, and great stroy, but... is incomplete, with big plot holes. For example, SPOILER ALERT, Prompto Reveals that he is from Nilfheim and arguably he is a human, but before it takes you anywhere, the game is over. For me it only remains to wait for the DLCs, and hope the complete game that Tabata promised .
There isn't a single boss in FFXV as good as even a mediocre boss from Kingdom Hearts.
>okay RPG with barely any RPG mechanics and shit story, the essentials of an RPG
>also no characterization or development
Whats the environment variety like? Any ice/snow area yet?
So I entered a tomb and the hunters say a deamon took the greatsword to castlerock or something. Where is this?
The boy band characters are the least of your problems. Here's a quick rundown of everything I encountered when I gave the game a quick go-around.
>the story makes absolutely no sense, and not in the "quirky japanese" way, but in the "I'm so bored I wish my PS3 would break" kind of way. It's a plot where you're hoping something interesting happens, and then you get to the credits wondering where the meat is
>combat is too easy. you can literally button mash everything
>flying car, from what I've seen, comes way too late for you to enjoy it. Regular car sucks. It's just a glorified waypoint traveler.
>overworld is empty and boring
>sidequests are literally "kill X bears and collect U bear anuses" but repeated for 50 hours
>environments in terms of graphics are okay. Not worth 60 dollars though
Can someone explain to me how the combat works?
In all the videos and streams I've seen it looks like a complete mess, just you and a bunch of shitty ai npcs zerging some big dude and then pausing to heal every now and then.
Game has some serious Gil issues. Shit is way too overpriced. 10k for a 2.0 exp hotel. 300k for a +50% exp cuisine. 5k for 190 damage weapons. 1k for phoenix downs etc.
Secondly, while I can't speak for others, one of my favorite parts about ff games is how you feel godly OP by out leveling content. XV doesn't have that feeling. I'm at least twenty levels higher than the content I'm currently on and the fights still take literal minutes to complete. I'm not able to one shot anything.
I like the game better than world of final fantasy. But for me this game is a 4/10.
Battles are great. Music is amazing. Quests are plentiful but sometimes repetitious. The characters are probably the most fleshed-out and most enjoyable characters to date. I'm at chapter 5 and around 30 hours in the game so far. Don't rush the main plot. You'll miss some neat stuff if you just follow the main story.
The graphics are great in quite a few places. Ignore the screenshots and videos that are cherry picked. A vast majority of the game is pretty. Prompto's photos are actually really fun. Fishing is pretty fun.
In all, a very solid game that lives up to Final Fantasy name and lends a lot to the franchise. Not perfect by any means, but it is pretty damn good.
It's close by. I found the place itself, but I couldn't find an entrance.
Environment varies a bit, from desert to mountain to plain to swamp to city, etc. It never feels like you're straight up going to a different continent or anything though, yknow? You don't experience anything as starkly varied as walking through Blighttown and end up in Quelaag's Domain.
However, the dungeons vary A LOT.with ice caves, ancient tombs with floating lakes, all sorts of crazy shit. The dungeons in this game really shine
Yes there is
Stop hoarding treasures
Time for my unpopular opinion
>I really like the combat system
>I really like the magic crafting system
>I like what they did with summons in this
This is my favorite RPG of all time now. Its better than New Vegas and TWEWY in my opinion.
>doing side quests.
>"oh wow, i have a lot of xp, time to sleep at an inn"
>a wild iron giant appears!
>"imperials above us noct!"
>another wild iron giant appears
>imperials!
>all said and done end up with 50k xp
>keep going, hit 100k xp
>sleep at galdin quay for 2x XP bonus
>lvl 50 on chapter 3.
>have another 100K xp saved up already
>i have only slept 3 times in the 40 hours i have played
>buddy was telling me about camping all the time to level cooking.
how badly did i fuck the difficulty curve of the game and how much will it ruin my experience
7/10 will get someone
What about the combat system do you like?
somewhere it could be argued that bullshots are false marketing which is illegal in the US. but its still a soft squishy area when it comes to video games.
The major flaw is that the story feels way too rushed. They cut so much shit out which leaves way too much stuff happening off screen and unexplained. Ruins the experience and cuts gametime from the main story.
That said it's still decent, better than XII and XIII but not as good as anything before them.
head NE to the round circle on the map, it's near
entrance opens at night
I honestly never said that but, you're either:
1. new here
2. from reddit
3. a shill
I didn't read past "yknow?"
Thank you for your time.
>Having trouble killing things when you are overleveled that hard.
Boy you must have done a shit job filling out the Ascension tree.
Nah bruh. There isn't a treasure in this game that will net me 300k. Hunts before rank 4 give you 2k to 4k Gil but only for the first completion. The rewards drops down to 600ish gil if you try to repeat.
what
There is actually one if you play the pinball game near Altissa. At 99, you get an item that sells for 500k gil.
Didn't say I was having trouble. I said I'm not able to one shot things I've greatly outleveled. They do shit damage to me. I just do shit damage right back. At level 80 I should be able to one shot anything 50 and lower. However that is not the case.
>mfw when that happened to me and I was sitting on a powder keg of crazy high level Expericasts
Are you having fun? Your fine. Besides there is post game dungeons that go to lvl 99.
It's good.
Gameplay takes some getting used to. Don't expect anything "cuhrazy," though. My biggest gripe with the combat system is that most heavy weapons have bad range and low attack mobility, and the animations are long so you can get stuck swinging at the air for a while. Holding square to dodge instead of just making the dodge roll more reliable us weird, but not game breaking. Camera gets weird at times.
Story makes sense so far, just started chapter four. Many people have lauded the game's main four, but they're alright from what I have played. Thought I would hate Prompto and Gladio, but everyone's bearable and they all have charming moments. Ther number of sidequests and hunts is ridiculous, there are a lot; got to be level 30 when doing the Chapter 3 main mission because of all the side stuff.
That being said, my biggest complaint is that you spend way too much time driving around, or running, or riding a chocobo in order for shit to go down. Fields feel empty during the day, and imperials always seem to pop out near mission objectives, few times do they appear as you head somewhere. That may be some lousy RNG for me, but it's what sucks. At least at night the encounter rate goes up.
I like it, and this is coming from someone who thought very seriously about spending money on the game. If you're anything like me, you'll do it just to get closure after 10 years.
He's right yknow?
the game is so easy you shouldnt need to sleep at galdin until you couldve afforded it hours and hours ago. i went from 1 to 10 to 25 to 38 to 50. would be higher if finishing the second chapter didnt force you to sleep with no xp multiplier.
Hmm I got the 99 celestriad for 10 Gil game. Don't think it sales for that much.
I'm a few hours in, should I by going full OCD and picking up every treasure on the map or can I skip them?
Looks straight to me fampais
yeah im having fun, but i feel like its going to be XCX all over again when i outpaced to story so far i was oneshotting bosses to the very end. it was like finally getting to cum on your crushes face and just a little bit slowly dribbles out and barley leaves your dick and hits her face (because you fap to her pictures too much) and then she leaves laughing at you and no one at school will talk to you anymore.
I was level 75 before I completed chapter 2 from the cactuar grind. But that's besides the point. 10k for a room is ridiculous. There is no excuse.
>that royal tomb after Ignis is blinded
for fucks sake how slow can one person be
Its an actual varied combat system in a JRPG for one. I have to switch up how I am fighting depending on the situation and who I am fighting. I like alternating between using magic, my revolver or mechanical gun, then diving into the middle of a fight using a royal arm or perfect blocking to get my health back with a shield. Im a huge fan of Stylish action games, so I love how many options I have for experimentation and combining my weapon abilities with the team limit breaks.
I like turnbased combat as well, but this feels so much more rewarding once you pull off something that looks cool.
I'm having fun with it. Its definitely way better than 13 and in my opinion a great direction for Final Fantasy to head in
sure there is. its double xp. you just need to put effort into making the investment worth it. turning 10 hours of xp into 20 is huge.
>cactuar grind
i missed this, whats the deal
I should've left him behind.
There's no reason to pick anything up unless you're walking next to it anyway. Also don't waste time randomly exploring unless there's a quest there.
>Yes there is
>Gives no examples
Oh I see. You're one of those
...
>slow down your highness!
Nah. Just pick up the things close to your mission area/campsite. Wait until you have Chocobos to go full autism.
...
...
...
literally perfect
...
...
...
>pretty gay but also pretty fun
pretty much sums the entire thing up tbqh
He's actually looking past her shoulder at a guy
...
All the names in this game are fucking stupid and pretentious, they just took random latin words
>NOCTIS LUCIS CAELUM prince of TENEBRAE
>the king is called REGIS
>Gladiolus amicitia
>lunafreya
Maybe its because i know a bit of latin, but i cant take seriously this shit
The buffed muscle guy is named after a fucking flower
...
The limited machine in Altissa is different. It takes 10k gil and gives better rewards.
...
...
Nothing to grand. He spawns once a day and give between 5k and 6k each kill. Just kill. Go to bar accept night hunt say yes to waiting for night. Wait until day kill again repeat. Racking up enough xp and resting in a hotel. Using debased/rare coin expericast to gain more xp along the way.
Find a random blue treasure (not apart of the mark treasure spots from the diner). Save right before you pick it up. If it's not a debased or rare coins reload save until it is. Do this every new day after killing the cactuar, so you can use it on the next cactuar the following say.
...
I want to marry Iris and make her fantasy a reality
...
I agree on the direction and it's definitely an improvement on 13 but that doesn't change the fact it feels very rushed. It's good but disappointing.
>The gameplay is like if Kingdom Hearts was good.
How do you people delude yourselves into thinking shit like this?
Gameplay is literally hold O, until you have to hold Square. You can actually win entirely by holding square most of the time.
...
10k gil??? Ha. Gotta be rich to get rich I guess.
...
...
One question.
Are there any additional party members or what?
Or take a few pictures for a fat guy.
...
Confusing good gameplay with complicated gameplay. Easy combat is goodcombat.
>get into a fight
>he's bumbling around and falling over trying to hit something
boy am I glad I have absolutely no choice of party members. who needs Cor or Iris or Aranea when I have the blind guy
...
What is the cause of this? Lack of waifus?
