i want to into a new fantasy WRPG (maybe jrpg if it's not fucking goofy) or action game from 2006/7 or newer (because graphics)
I enjoy skill-based combat. I don't mind tactical, but I remember really disliking games like Dragon Age: Origins for ultra boring combat.
I have played/enjoyed; ME1, Shivering Isles, Fallout NV. Somewhat Skyrim. Non-RPG I liked: TW: Warhammer, WoW RP servers circa 2008-10
I tried Witcher 2 and just couldn't give less of a shit about playing Geralt. I would rather have my own character to play as. If I do have to play as a certain type, I would much rather play as a Dwarf.
i just want to cut down dudes and be invested in a world/story again. considering Diablo III at the very least
those are the only decent wrpg to come out lately.I never got off on witcher either.

Xenoblade Chronicles and X. They're goofy but their world exploration is unbeatable.
Nathaniel Cook
>They're goofy but their world exploration is unbeatable. Nintendicksucker pls. This is a thread for people that have played other games than MUH NINTENDO their entire lives.
Angel Wilson
I doubt he is going to like those. He wants action RPGs based on what he said, not turn-based or RTwP.

Risen Stalker Mount & Blade

Dragons dogma is good. The story is subpar, but it has a fun pawn system and DLC.

Well your criteria don't really leave any place for maneuvers.
As I want to help you, remember that these are just some random ideas on top of my head.
Didn't play this but it's action based "RPG" I would assume so might be somehow fun to play and I've heard both good and bad opinions about it, might want to pirate and check for yourself.
Head a lot good opinions about this, yet as people said leave main story and go straight for the mask of the betrayer (If i recall main story was a "tutorial" of some sort and kinda boring).
Personally I would recommend you to play Planescape torment but it's kinda specific RPG not for everyone aka "book" of an rpg, and it was released in 1999 so there is that. Also it's not that great in combat department but still you might like it so why not giving it a try.
Also if you disliked Witcher 2 you might really like witcher 1 which imo was best witcher game since 2 was a console garbage and as I assume 3 followed. It play WAY different that those 2.
Black and white also comes to mind.
Give some other examples of games you enjoyed or like.

>TW Warhammer >WoW RP servers leave

op here. divinity doesn't look bad, and im not opposed to turn based
i played this a long while ago on the 360 I think. might give it another try, some of the combat against large monsters still looks really impressive
i like big impactful combat. eventually working your way to becoming a godlike warrior. still one of my favorite combat experiences was Warhammer 40k on 360, so I'm more inclined to non-turn based but looking at Divinity Original Sin it doesn't look so bad. I just like having a story to explore or impact
>didnt like TW Warhammer git gud
Adam Mitchell
>git gud >for the most braindead game in the series

KoA is utter shit though. Why would you recommend it to anybody?
Aaron Allen
as far as turn based goes i never felt more like i wasn't doing anything at all than when i played that game. i watched the teaser trailer with that marilyn manson song before it came out with my buddy and we were ultra hype. then i played it.
teenage me was really let down
okay buddy im sure Attila wasn't as bad as everyone says after years of updates, right? right?

This, it's a single player MMO that lacks the charm and cohesiveness of an actual MMO.
Cameron Campbell
Well I assume as for warhammer 40k you mean Spacemarine?
Other than that you could play Binary Domain, not really RPG but decent "gears of war" shooter with upgrades as you progress the story and get kills.
Jordan Baker
As I said, I've never played it, and heard mixed opinions but from what I saw it kinda matches action oriented rpg? Still I assume that it's rather shit since it's another time hearing that it was single player MMO theme.

Dark Souls?

Sorry, I skipped over "didn't play". But it's really terrible.
