Why does he always come back?
Why does he always come back?
...
Wily virus, it can't be destroyed.
>Mfw sigma is mvci's villain
Does this mean megaman x9 is happening?
>giving robots free will
>Dr. Light doomed humanity
I hope we don't make this mistake in the future
Pray we don't get X9, Capcom always fucks it up. Unless they hand development off to another company, it's guaranteed to be shit.
Light did almost everything wrong.
But that wasn't his fault. Blame Dr. Cain he's the one making Reploids like there's no tomorrow without giving them the same precautions like Light did with X(Sticking him in a capsule to teach him right and wrong)
He's not the nigga that told others to rip off his X design without making them go through enough moral simulations to ensure they don't go evil.
This, unlike Wily who always comes back because Megaman would never kill him, Sigma is basically immortal because he's a virus. If that virus is alive anywhere he can come back no matter how many times X kills him.
He actually did die in the end, only because he was killed on the fucking moon with nowhere to jump to.
>tfw sigma will never be your torso
And he's not in the new generation reploids, right? No sigma virus in them.
For a future where everyone's at least a little reploid, I'd say it's worth it.
...
There's something truly scary about a villain who always comes back in full force after a defeat.
I think Dr Eggman is among the scariest video game villains when it comes to this. Sonic destroys everything he has, Eggman escapes, and then is able to rebuild everything and more. Because he is a genius in robotics, it's assumed that all it's all automated. He just escapes to a proxy base, throws a switch to restart production of a new fleet and it all comes together for the next game where he challenges Sonic again.
Because.
Also, I always thought about how the MegaMan universe could be explored with something other than save the world.
Imagine playing with other robots doing their usual tasks and making it fun.
Something like Steamworld Dig for exemple.
So it's Sigma + Ultron that's the big bad in MvC∞, right?
What were we fighting for?
I think the comic book one is scary, and reminds me more of the old Robotnik, the cruel and unforgiving one. The one in video games and the new show just seems more like a joke character to me.
I love villains that continually come back though, and I do love Robotnik.
>worries that the government was labeling whoever they please as a maverick
>this is barely mentioned in the story as a whole
X had a lot of interesting ideas that were just never given enough screentime.
I also liked how the old Robotnik polluted everything. It made him seem like a fucking plague.
Seems that way. I have to wonder if Ultron and Sigma will be their own characters too.
Nope, he definitely died at X8, since in Command Mission he doesn't even exist anymore, and even a fucking century later, in Mega Man Zero and ZX, he never showed up again.
I wish he could come back.
Not really. Just have Inti Creates do it and a decent director and it's fine.
MM9 was surprisingly good despite be if a very cheap game
Sigma was destroyed a long time ago.
The virus that retains his consciousness persists, but it is deteriorating. Each time he's destroyed, he comes back crazier, savage and more primal.
X3 Sigma looks less crazier, savage and primal than X2 Sigma to me. The same applies for X5 compared to X4
>X game premise is that the government doesn't trust X and labels him a Maverick
>X has to stop a bunch of reploids going after him in a massive chase
>Zero tries to stop X but doesn't want to kill his friend
>It was all a rise cause by Sigma
There I just leaked the plot to X9
>yfw a Sigma is just a sideways W
Exactly what I would want in an X9, at least as far as narrative.
I had that exact idea earlier today.
Only problem is that there isn't much reason for X to go to different stages and fight enemies if they're all going after him. There would have to be another parallel plot so X has a reason to choose different stages and progress forward.
Different iterations created by different "strains" of the virus.
Sigma's appearance and demeanor are governed by just how much of himself remains in the source code among a group of carriers.
How would playing as Zero or Axl work with this plot? They obviously can't fight the same bosses as X.
Nope, those thing's big thing was the ability to go maverick at their own free will...
Which is about the dumbest fucking thing ever said story wise in mega man.
I liked the idea of people falsely accusing others of being maverick, cause it seems to be a thing that people would do, but the next gen reps said they could go maverick, as in pretty much go batshit crazy and try to murder shit freely and be controlled by a hive mind, freely.
x3 was the hardest sigma.
Wasn't Sigma briefly around a bit in cyberspace for the Zero series or something? I swear I remember something about Sigma showing up in Zero.
too be fair this entire exchange can be applied to Dr. Wily word for word
Training Simulation.
Used as a post-game option after beating X's story
I just want that never to be Megaman Classic and X bridge game that connects the two
...
Naw. He never showed up at all.
Probably have to go to different locations to find clues or evidence for X to save his reputation or having to save a few of his old allies
this is what I love about Gannondorf. The man comes back centuries later to get revenge on the hero's descendants; that's commitment
In fairness the Japanese name is Irregular, and it basically means a reploid that just suddenly decides to do something abnormal.
Fucking hell man. That reminds me of what the Flash did to one of his villains (stole his speed and made him a living statue)
Oh, that's good. Like are some actual mavericks whose actions have been blamed on him, so he has to bring them to justice.
The same thing could happen to them, and then it's just a matter of who you have go on what mission.
if I recall correctly said villain got his revenge and boy was it good
I'd rather have a command mission 2
No, Iris wanted to kill you because you killed her brother.
Still a very stupid plot, they could have proven to be not maverick by just fucking getting a scan.
Wasn't X4 the first to even tie being Irregular to a virus? Would they even know to look for that?
And Zero wasn't on board the whole "Let's kill all the humans and make Reploid paradise"
Robotnik always seemed like a pretty good villain that was stuck in a shit series.
I would loved to see him in another series where he could get more bat shittier like someone else described him as a plague, plus he has a iconic voice.
Honestly how many humans are even still around in the implied nuclear war pre-X1?
Because he's not dead when you beat him.
it wasn't about proving whether they were mavericks or not, it was a matter of principle. They were already somewhat alienated from the rest of society, being accused of being Mavericks was just basically the tip of the iceberg.
I hope so. I want an X9 where it starts in the elf wars
>nowhere to jump to
I think it jumped from Sigma to Lumine and then after the final boss, from Lumine to Axel.
If they made an X9, Axel definitely would have gone Maverick and X and Zero would have to kill him.
not really since dr. wily doesn't fucking die at the end of every game
>Ever wanting a sequel to that a mediocre RPG
Worst thing about it is the fucking music and voice acting.
Not all mavericks come from virus
true but there was always the whole "the real villain was Willy/Sigma all along" which we all saw coming a mile away.
Not that that's a bad thing; there's a real comfort to the consistency
Humans and X series don't get along well. I'm not sure the exact number is but..
>The X1-3 wars
>Replieforce incident
>The Space Colony crash which like fuck. 60% of humans?
>X6-8 wars
Shit it's amazing humans even manged to live so long in X.
And they made it worse. They were still dumb as hell about it. One of their own blew up a city at the start of the game cause he wanted to be butt fucked by x and zero badly.
Dr. Cain for one. And tons by the looks of MMZ.
The elf wars fucked up reploids more than humans, right?
What's Command Mission's gameplay like, anyways? Is it a straight turn-based RPG, or are there standard platforming elements?
Asking because not having many female Reploids was the greatest crime the X series committed and Command Mission seems to solve that.
They barely survived. In the Zero series, the humans that live in Neo Arcadia are the only ones left.
They didn't want to kill all humans, they just didn't want to live with em.
*killed
More Reploids died I think. 80-90%
Come on, man. It was comfy was fuck.
Imagine a Zero series RPG!
A Zero series RPG would be anything but comfy
It'd probably end up like BOF: Dragon Quarter in tone
X2 showed Sigma was a virus, the final boss is called virus sigma.
Maybe Jet Stingray was actually going maverick.
>And they made it worse
true, but at that point they had already given up on making peace with mankind, instead they decided to use force which is apparent in their declaration of war.
>One of their own blew up a city at the start of the game cause he wanted to be butt fucked by x and zero badly
If you're referring to Dragoon being part of Repliforce, I'm pretty sure he was a Maverick Hunter and got infected with the Maverick/Sigma virus. Sigma then used him to frame Sky Lagoon on Repliforce.
>One of their own blew up a city at the start of the game cause he wanted to be butt fucked by x and zero badly.
Dragoon was a member of the Hunters, not Repliforce. He wasn't even infected, Sigma just promised that if he joined up, he could defeat Zero.
>Iris:I wanted to live in a world where only Reploids exist.
That's her words user. From the very game itself.
It's a mediocre turn based RPG and the new characters have few cutscenes. Once they join your party they won't appear any time again except Massimo was in several and had extra lines for some reason
Sonic 2017?
Dragoon didn't even go maverick. He just did it because he wanted to fight X/Zero.
the fucking madman
He doesn't really care about X, it's all about Zero.
He wanted to fight X too. He was even goading him into using his full power before the battle started.
>Robots taking over the world
>FIGHT FOR EVERLASTING PEACE MEGA MAN
>Fails, now humans are actively hunted by robots
>FIGHT FOR EVERLASTING PEACE X
>Fails, 80% of all humanity is dead and the rest are controlled by an evil overlord
>FIGHT FOR EVERLASTING PEACE ZERO
>Fails, satellite death laser wipes out what's left, earth is submerged under water, apes learn to talk, some guy who's totally not Dr. Wily runs a boat shop and quietly snickers to himself
That doesn't have to mean that humans are dead. Repliforce was heading to space, where humans don't exist.
I swore the reason he wanted to fight X/Zero was because he went Maverick. At least it was worth it for a final duel.
no platform elements, it copies FF10's main style of turn base combat.
>Missing the ZX era
Jesus fuck, Eggman.
>That doesn't have to mean that humans are dead. Repliforce was heading to space, where humans don't exist.
Fine fine. Speaking of space. Trying to make a new home in a giant space laser cannon was a bad idea.
That actually seems to have ended decently.
You can't refer to Advent's secret ending because Capcom never delivered. ;_;
Certainly at the state the world was in a pretty good state.
>Once they join your party they won't appear any time again
Seriously? It looks like your party is only 7 characters, so I can't see why they wouldn't try to keep them relevant.
So a straight RPG? Damn. I like the X series, but I don't like typical RPG gameplay. Is it worth the time to play it?
Who's this guy, you ask? Oh, only the greatest villain in the history of vidya. You know what he did? Fucking made sure Mega Man isn't living no more, that's what he fucking did.
Then he started a war between humans and reploids that may or may not have destroyed the world.
Oh, and he built a fighting robot that hundreds of years into the future STILL is the most powerful there is.
Did I mention most of this happened centuries after his death, and he planned most of it out WHILE trying to take over the world, which he did 10 times?
>the BN/SF universe is the good universe while the mainline one is the bad universe
I love how one easy change of the world not being fucked over is that Dr. Light doesn't deal with robotics
He also gets laid and has a real son
>SF has planet buster level foes the can threaten the Earth at any time
I dunno user..
>Fucking made sure Mega Man isn't living no more, that's what he fucking did.
Unconfirmed
>Then he started a war between humans and reploids that may or may not have destroyed the world.
Mostly Cain's fault.
>he built a fighting robot that hundreds of years into the future STILL is the most powerful there is.
X may be more powerful, but we don't know for sure. Zero stopped fighting for parts of the Elf wars when X kept going on, and Zero and X stopped Omega (who had other elf-related upgrades) together.
>he planned most of it out WHILE trying to take over the world
Nope
Everything after the original is the wrong universe to me.
Also this doesn't make sense considering Duo is a fighting robot in one and a program in the other.
At least Wily only wanted to rule the world. Every endgame villian in BN and SF would wipe out the entire human race/Earth itself.
To an extent Weil too I guess.
Wait did he want to wipe out humans or just rule over them
It rivals X6's Eurasia, making the whole "best timeline" deal iffy at best.
Speaking of planet busting, what the fuck was Lumine's endgame? It's been years.
