Yes.
yes,
no
For sure, it's my favorite ever.
yes
3 is better
Yes, because it uses gameplay to tell the story which is already 10/10.
Same exact thing. Both GOAT
Yes, and you should play it, and the rest of the KCET Silent Hill series.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" is a all-in-one fix, that works as a no-cd crack as well. It is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW fix mentioned in the guide, you can use the sh2proxy's EXE as the no-cd crack!
In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.
SH2-4 do not support Xinput gamepads. Either use Xpadder, a DirectInput pad, or just play with KB+M.
(And here's another one that does have working links, if these don't cut it.)
>absolutely awful gameplay but it's still the best game ever because muh sophisticated psychological horror for "mature" gamers
Fuck off
First one was way more terrifying.
>absolutely awful gameplay
wrong
also he explicitly said "one of" the best. Nobody is claiming SH2 is the best game for gameplay ever, but it could easily be the best for story and atmosphere (which is the point of survival horror)
b8
Silent Hill 2 > MGS2
nah he ain't baiting, he just retarded af
>absolutely awful gameplay
Found a photo of (You)
no but it's good
If every single Silent Hill protagonist got into a large room and had to get into an all-out fight to the death, who do you think would come out on top?
I'm leaning on Harry Mason, as he killed a member of the cult who tried to track him down. Nothing suggests he was armed, so he probably improvised while doing it, not to mention how he contemplated killing Heather when she was a baby. Fucker's cold as ice.
I do recall it being stated being a case of self-defense with a handgun. He also did arm his daughter later on.
That's what I'd expect from a man who went to hell and back, saved the world, lost everything, but got another chance with life.
I know he gave Heather a stun gun, but I can't remember anything mentioning he shot the guy. Replaying SH3 again right now, so it has admittedly been a while.
I do think it's mentioned in Doughlas' notebook you can find later on in the Amusement Park. It's been a while, but I do recall it stating that Harry shot the intruder.
Nah.
...
more like "hell yes!" my friend.
yes
nope
yes to both
>imagine wanting to be a contrarian so fucking badly, you can't even acknowledge one of the greatest games ever
here's your (You)
yes
but I wish more fans addressed the game's shit balance. enemies being too easy to run past in the town and too easy to mow down in hallways (game gives you 100+ shells and 500+ rounds). enemies never feel like a threat and that seems at odds with the game's themes. I cringe when people call it the best survival horror game because there's zero resource management.
Still an amazing game in just about every other respect.
Can i have a (You) too please :(
here
>That pyramid head
I'm rather upset over that, take this instead.
Otherwise though, I acttually think 4 handled resource management the best, if not in terms of its inventory. Heath items were rare, and it gave you the crutch of the apartment healing only to remove it later, when shit hits the fan with Walter
I've only played the first 3 SH games and the third is the only one that had me worried I didn't have enough ammo to get through the game. Later I found out that's because the game subtly feeds you whatever resource you're low on and with just enough to get through the area. Kept me on the edge of my seat more. SH1+2 could have used that system.
They could have, but 2 tried to accommodate with the multiple difficulties being available from the get go, and separating them between combat and puzzles.
Alex Shepard.
He was a soldier you know.
Speaking from experience, being a mental patient doesn't give you amazing fighting experience.
I'd say so, and I'm not even properly a fan of the series(still have yet to really play 'em).
You can fix that right now, you know.
I have the PC editions downloaded from the post in this thread, but I'm waiting to get physical ps2 copies in before I really sink my teeth in. The gameplay of 3 feels super good though, I can't wait to get to it.
>has not played the games
>has played some of SH3
...uh, why?
You really, REALLY should play these games in release order.
I can see playing SH2 first just to see what the hype is about, but the play order should always be
>1 or 2,3, then 4.
Yes.
Splinter cell is better than MGS
The winner of shittiest voice acting, the most depressing setting of a video game goes to....
>shittiest voice acting
If you think it has the worst, you've not been around the shitty VO block.
its not even the best in its own franchise
I guess, but I'd argue that without playing SH1 first, SH2 may feel oddly slow and boring at first. The original gives superior introduction to the series, and also more "context" and things to look forward to in the sequel.
>SH2
>shitty VA
look at this genZ moron / Tomm Hulett
Shitty voice acting? Hardly. Unconventional? Sure.
I thought the off-beat, eerie VA actually added to the atmosphere, the way the dialogues are exchanged is reminiscent of David Lynch, in particular Mullholland Dr.
James Sunderland.
He seems the most solidly built, is in his prime and had what it took, for better or worse to kill his own wife. The first time he sees a monster he picks up a 2x4 very casually. I don't think he's prone to panic because he's run out of fucks to give.
He also had an all-out fight to the death before when he was locked in a room with an armed psychopath, and won.
This is a fair assessment.

i watched the movie, that's what introduced me to the series. Then played 4, then 2 then 3 then 1.
Fucking love the series to death though
>i watched the movie, that's what introduced me to the series
>played 4, then 2 then 3 then 1.
Would you people get a stroke if you had an original idea in your lives?
>That whole post
welp i guess at least you enjoy the series
>That order
I can understand how that happened, but jesus christ man. I'm sorry.
I don't understand you.
They all are going to rape Heather to death first.
drop your top ten video games right now
You realize if they even think it, Harry immediately would go beserk, right?
So he was a serial killer, right?
Knack 1-10
>Western game
Who cares
back to redit
Fuck off Tomm
The best version of SH2 is with the voice of god that is troy baker.
How can this amateur piece of shit even compete? Say all you want about the bugs, but voice acting wise, SH2HD was superior
Tomm Hulett HATES the old Silent Hill games, though.
this
harry mason voiced as Lowenthal when?
