So this is apparently coming out today. Is anyone hyped for it?

My dick in your butthole is hyped.
who
Demo is good. Not quite as hard as Commandos 3. Better controls. Better characters & voice acting.
Easily GOTY, if the rest of the game delivers and gets as hard as Commandos.
WAs Commandos 3 any good? I heard it was supposed to be the worst of the Commandos games
Looks pretty good op, thanks for letting me know. I'll probably wait for a sale though.
Not as good as 2, but still good.
Needs some workarounds to get working on Win 8 or 10 though. Works fine on 7. GoG Version is also only for Win 7.
I'm dying to see how people who never played Commandos/Desperados/whatever will react to this.
It could just be that first mission is really handholdy. Great UI, though.
>still no pricing on store page
I am currently waiting for my Shogun Edition.
and this game is really cheap in Poland. You can grab boxed copy for 26$ with delivery. In box there is DRM-free version and steam key. I don't think that it is region locked.
Jeez, I really didn't paytttention to this game. I didn't even know it was coming out this year.
>I'm dying to see how people who never played Commandos/Desperados/whatever will react to this.
After playing the demo of Shadow Tactics I instantly downloaded Commandos 2. Apart from few comparability issues, I am enjoying it very much.
It is? That's some damn good news.
I'm hype as shit, how long has it been since the last Commandos clone?
Fucking forever.
>small indie can put together decent Japanese VA for authentic experience if you feel like that
How? Did they have access to Japanese VA and chose to build a game set in Japan based on that fact or something?
As someone who enjoys games like jagged alliance but never played any of the commandos games should I look into this?
It's not that hard, Tripwire did the same for Rising Storm. Found a couple of Japanese guys in London and put them in small studio, that's it.
There are hundreds of Japanese VA agencies. In the age of internet doing arranging this is not really hard.
But it's really nice that they have done it.
There is a demo. try it and see for yourself.
demo is pretty neat
i never played that Commandos game, but odds are if I ever saw a box back then I just went "oh look another WW2 shooter" and passed on by it. and now it doesn't work on modern computer because DirectX FIVE? holy shit how old was Commandos?
The first one? 1998.
They're really not much alike. Commandos feels more like a top down stealth game than squad tactics.
But yes, you should look into this.
alright thanks
> I heard it was supposed to be the worst of the Commandos games
No, that would be commandos: strike force.
That was an FPS-like.
One of the PCs in my school had it installed. One of the first games I played on PC actually.
I had an Amiga and a SNES at the time.
I was shit at it, but I often watched my friends play it.
I thought we were supposed to never mention that piece of shit again.
I don't know what is more infuriating.
Close Combat: First to Fight or Commandos: Strike Force
Is Men of War kind of a middle ground between Commandos-like and RTT proper?
It kinda is.
But I have never played a strategy game in which stealth is as important as in Wargame.
Do we have a list of the japanese VAs?

Noice
The most positive surprise of the fucking year.
It's a fun stealth tactics game. The controls are a bit odd at first, but once I got used to them, I've never felt I got fucked over by the game itself, but rather than making actual mistakes.
And the characters are good too. So far I've gotten the dude who looks like he's from Tenchu, gruff Samurai, a stabby loli, and The End. The skills are interesting, and with the pretty good animations, it's just fun to stab people.
I heard this has non lethal options does that mean going lethal = bad ending?
this isn't dishonored
No. There are achievements in each level (like "don't kill anyone", or "don't hide in bushes"), so non-lethal is for those. Doesn't affect the story.
Also, when you knock someone out, they'll wake up on their own after a while. And then they call for help.
And the funny thing is, the Japanese voice acting and translation is more accurate and appropriate for the era the game is set. For example, the Japanese voice actors use more nuanced honorifics when they talk, while the English actors (who sound British for some reason) go for the usual -san.
A pretty neat detail.
Does this game allow for japanese VAs and english subtitles?
This is extremely important.
yeah
apparently it doesn't have timed missions. which is always nice
