i'm starting to think they don't even do matchmaking based on rank, but on location. how to i end up with the same damn opposition team like 6 times out of 10 matches when they're no where near my level.

mate, even call of duty has better matchmaking. i don't get paired up against sweats with a dogshit team every game.

who knows. it's still annoying. it's happened 2 days in a row now with 2 different sets of clanners. maybe the matchmaking servers are fucked for some reason in yurop.

most games are equally balanced. in these games i've been playing on halo half of my team ends without even a single kill and like 12 deaths.

This is probably why. You'll have better luck if you can find american to queue with.
Could also try expanded or focused and see if they improve it.

I think personally Halo 5 being faster and also harder to aim means more people are god awful at it. The maps/spawn being shit doesnt help either.

If Halo 6 comes out on PC I think it will revitalize the scene since you will be able to use keyboard + mouse. Plus there would be a whole other market to sell towards. muh esports and all.

Other than no split-screen and some of the reoccurring bugs they havent fixed its one of my favourite Halo games competitively.

The campaign is the worst in the series though, no question about it.
