OK Sup Forums, my pc is having a harder time keeping up with the latest games so i'm considering on getting a PS4.

>ITT reasons to buy or not to buy a PS4.

It's a good console, I have no regrets with mine. Now let 300 posts of shitposting begin

The "latest games" suck.

Go play older games which your PC should be able to handle just fucking fine. Getting a fucking PS4 is only going to let you play modern casual style-over-substance garbage.

>Overpriced once online is considered
>No exclusives (most games are multiplat anyway)
>No mods
>Can't do much apart from games

upgrade your PC, that will be far cheaper

I have a good PC, but I might get a PS4. I want Bloodborne, The Last Guardian, Death Stranding, FFXV. Can't think of anything else that isn't on PC.
As for you, you might want to check out prices on the GTX 1070. I'm enjoying my EVGA SC GTX 1070.

upgrade your PC, you fucking retard

It's okay to get one now. It's not 2014.

If you want to wait it out some more or upgrade your pc that's an option too.

I forgot to mention The Last of Us Part ii

Well it has more exclusives than the Bone Zone. Even the "bad" ones like Knack are pretty good.

Controllers are much improved from the PS1-PS3 days (always hated the Dualshock model).

But you have to pay for online. And I got my PS4 about exactly 1 year after it launched but the battery life on the controller it came with was horrible, but the battery life on the controller I bought from the store a few months back has lasted me multiple 5 hour sessions so I think its a fixed problem.

could just tell me to buy a movie or start up netflix instead

>"OK Sup Forums, my pc is having a harder time keeping up with the latest games"
>get a PS4 where things run with shit framerate anyway but it's just considered normal rather than a technical issue

How cinematic u want your games senpai

do your own research dummy

does it have games you want to play that you can't already play?

reason to buy PS4: Bloodborne
/thread

>Skyrim
>30 fps

What the fuck?

No reason not to buy one. It's cheap for a machine that will play everything for the next 4-5 years worry-free.

As you can see from all the PC-only guys ITT they are all jaded tired old gamers who think every new experience is shit and you should upgrade your PC to play... exactly the same stuff you already can. I don't know, there's something sad about PCucks, somehow they are the most hateful and cynical of all fanboys, and play games the least or seem to dislike most of them.

Going idort is ALWAYS better than focusing on any one platform, always. Also Q1 2017 is filled to the brim with amazing games, unless you're only into western vidya, in which case I'm sorry and the PS4 isn't for you.

Anyway I've been having fun with Let it Die. Surprisingly gets into my top5 this year, probably because I had no expectations.

>get ps4 for one game
>get ps4 while not being into weebshit
lmao at ur life

I know I'm gonna get shitposted to death but honestly I think the lower frame rate isn't as noticeable on a controller. 25-30 fps on a mouse and keyboard is fucking awful sure but I don't nearly notice it as much playing my ps4

You get used to it senpai

My first few hours of bloodborne were nightmarish xd because of the constant framedrops, but you get used to it

Weeb games are for middle schoolers or MLP loving people with Peter Pan syndrome who'll never leave their parents' basement

Don't listen to the r/pcmasterrace on this thread. You'll just end with a powerful machine to play indie trash and shit AAA multiplats. What actually matters are the games.

What kind of games do you like?

You're better off upgrading your PC next year if you aren't interested in fighting games or the PS4's list of released/upcoming exclusives. Even the Pro has issues running certain AAA games due to the pathetic CPU.

fell for the meme 4 days ago, slowly enjoying Uncharted 4
it was a good meme. subscribe for more

Add GundamBreaker3 and GrandKingdom to the released list.
Also while games like Destiny and FF15 aren't PS4 exclusives, OP can't play them since he doesn't own a Xbone either so they are reasons to purchase a console.

gunplay is fucking trash horrible garbage but i am enjoying the comfy exploring parts
any comfy game recommendations would be nice

>indie trash and shit AAA multiplats

Remove the word 'multiplats' and that basically describes the list you posted

>intentionally limiting yourself by using a gamepad

I have two words: Death Standing

Have you played those games?

Why not just upgrade your graphics card you fucking idiot? A 1060 is like 2/3's the price of a PS4 Pro and way more powerful.

>style-over-substance
Maybe I feel like relaxing after a day of work at my job

This comparison is forgetting the fact that the Pro games are running at 4k, while the OG PS4 games are running at 1080p.

Although Skyrim even at 4k should easily run at 60.

because why have a good computer that can run everything well when you can have two devices that do nothing well

>nearly 2/3rds unreleased games

Have you?

Something nobody's mentioned yet but is important imo is the FPS genre. If you like fast-paced shooters it's pretty fucking jarring to play them on a controller...

The released ones? Yeah. Plese tell how those unreleased games classify as "shit AAA".

Everything AAA there that's not Bloodborne is mediocre.

The rest is indie stuff that you accuse PC of, but somehow you think because it's Japanese that means its not indie

>Everything AAA there that's not Bloodborne is mediocre.
Why do you think so?
>The rest is indie stuff that you accuse PC of, but somehow you think because it's Japanese that means its not indie
None of those games are indie. You're a fucking retard.

Wait for Scorpio if you really want a PC replacement

PS4 is 3 years old and the Pro is a pile of shit

Upgrade your pc
Buy a ps4 in 2017 during holidays

terrible time to upgrade

>computer has a hard time keeping up
>so lets buy a console thats having a hard time keeping up

I'd say a terrible time to upgrade was during the 980. 1070 is pretty much perfect for 1080p

I really wanted to buy a ps4/ps4pro, but the first is already old and the latter is a glitchy shit that only early adopters are buying.

Fuck my life desu I'll play bloodborne when no one else will be playing anymore.

Just keep an eye out on Slim deals. Pro isn't going to be worth it unless they intend to drag the gen out for as long as last time.

but aren't slims like the shitter and hotter versions of consoles?

Buy a slim, then if you like scorpio next year buy it for multiplats and some exclusive and 4k/1080 60fps real no just meme like pro. if scorpio price will be 400-450 $ will sell a lot, and force sony to make PS5 early maybe 2019.

Reasons to buy:
>Exclusives (inb4 hurr no games)
>Better for social gaming (local co-op) if you're into that

Reasons not to buy:
>You can just upgrade your PC for the same amount of money
>Most games end up being on PC

I dunno, might get one this Xmas in the sales.

>and force sony to make PS5 early maybe 2019.
Yes user, just like the Xbox forced Sony to scrap the PS2 and make a PS3 early because it was twice as powerful.

Only ones running at native 4k are the bottom 2 and they aren't graphically impressive. The others are running at 1440-1600p upscaled to to 4k

I bought a PS4 around black friday, my first 7th gen console, because my GF had already preordered Persona 5 and we needed to get one anyway by April.

I've been playing PC games primarily for the past 2 years, so I decided to load up game du jour, Let It Die, as the first game to play on it. Helped that it was free to play too.

Immediately upon loading the game I saw loads of framerate bursts, hold ups, and other technical shit that took me right out of the game. The arcade-menu section was pretty cool looking but I couldn't get over the random frame dumps in the actual game, especially since it's an action game.

Then I loaded up Giantbomb's footage of The Last Guardian and saw them commenting on similar issues, like the PS4 couldn't handle a feathered monster, a boy, and a decently-sized area.

Overall I'm a bit disappointed, but whatever. My purchase was for P5 which is a turn-based RPG, so framerate dumps don't matter so much for that (unless backstabs matter for initiating battle, I guess). FF15 looks like shit, casually glancing at Grand Kingdom and Natural Doctrine since they're more my kind of genre.

Does the PS4 run any worse than say, MGSV, on PS3?

Wish I could tell you, my only experience with MGS5 was on PC.

My PS3 collection/rental was pretty much just Resonance of Fate, FF13-2, Red Dead Redemption, Sleeping Dogs, Heavy Rain, the Last of Us, and Valkyria Chronicles. And honestly, I don't remember any of them having the stuttering issues that I've seen on PS4 so far

>And honestly, I don't remember any of them having the stuttering issues that I've seen on PS4 so far
That's because your memory isn't good. I own PS3, PS4, 360, and the Xbone, as well as a decent gayman PC. If anything PS4 games on average run better than PS3 games outside of a few really horrible PS4 titles.

See? This is the kind of shit that hold me back from buying a ps4/pro. Fuck consoles are expensive as fuck, I'll need to work for 3 months to get it and have some money for a game.

This infuriates me because they actually have great games that they will NEVER EVER release on pc.

Fuck this gay earth desu senpai

Fuck, consoles here are expensive as fuck

Fix'd

>If anything PS4 games on average run better than PS3 games outside of a few really horrible PS4 titles.

Which PS4 games have you played, and which ones had framerate issues?

well i´ve always been a Sony guy but seeing where they are going with PS4 Pro.. i just wasnt a fan.

So I ordered Xbox One and finally will be enjoying the same generation of games as everyone else :)

I use PS Pro with my Dell S2216H so it's like a full computer.

this is my physical PS4 library but I also have quite a few digital games.

Bloodborne has framerate issues, Witcher 3 has occasional framerate issues but nowhere near as bad as it was at launch, LBP3, Deus Ex, Dishonored 2, GTA V (have it digitally). On Xbone Rise of the Tomb Raider, Alien Isolation, and Dead Rising 3 all ran terribly.

Don't get it. PS4 PRO will be obsolete next year when they release PS4 PRO2. If you think PS4 standard is enough, look again. Games which are already certified for planned obsolence are here. FFXV, Trico, what else.

So if PS4 PRO is few hundred, save double amount and get better PC. There aren't that many unique titles on PS4 only to justify your purchase. Or unless you just get PS4 now just for fun and get PC later on.

>gf bought one on Black Friday
>tried infamous my wife's son because the first one was shit so surely they made it fun right?
>same boring shit. Forced controller gimmicks like shake your controller, use the gay touchscreen for whatever reason.
>return that shit the next day for gta5, finished it on PS3 but I want to try it in first person with HUD and map turned off etc
>it's ok. Car interior view sucks in first person, reversing is dumb. Just realised they removed voice gps which was in gta4 wtf?
>get up to the mission where you get cucked by the tennis guy
>painful cinematic of tying the rope to the house and HOLD R2 TO ACCELERATE!
>came crashed while driving home at end of mission
>have to sit through the whole cinematic experience again
Returning this garbage tomorrow. What's a good game?
Thanks for reading :3

Did you know that you can change parts in your computer to make it faster?

Yes, but I'll have to rip out the motherboard for a new one to upgrade the CPU, in addition to a new GPU, and a new PSU to run all that shit. I basically have to buy a whole new computer.

>I basically have to buy a whole new computer.
I had to do this recently, it sucks but now with a 6700K I should be good for at least 5 years.

>missing out on 90% of the playstation library because you have shit taste and insecurities

>Can't do much apart from games

I remember when this was considered a plus.

please can you guys stop recommending uncharted 4? it's barely a videogame, seriously, I would rather you recommend last of us remastered, that has actual gameplay at least...

This is correct.

PS4 runs its own games surprisingly well thanks to memory not being an issue anymore.

Granted it's not stellar but it's miles ahead of the fucking cell frankenstein processor and that piece of shit 512mb that the ps3 had, I still can't fathom how devs could get stuff to run on that thing.

Only Sony owned studios properly coded their games to run well. developers like Bethesda pretty much gave up and shipped an alpha version of fallout and skyrim on it.

Why wouldn't you upgrade your PC?

Get a PS4 in three years when it's at the end of the cycle when there are enough exclusive games to warrant a purchase, cheap as chips, and all patched.

Always always this. Only suckers buy consoles before there is a game you have to have or it is dirt cheap(or in the case of the ps4, even 3 years after launch).
You can argue that multiplayer communities are dead at that point, but multiplayer is always better on pc anyways unless you like paying extra and having no mods.

Why wouldn't you just upgrade your PC?

At least he can play the shit AAA AND the AAA multiplats.
