Just another friendly reminder that Asari do not look like humans, they use their psychic abilities to make other species attracted to them by "displaying" similar characteristics.

there's nothing too friendly about this reminder, seems more neutral to me.

This was never confirmed

Just another friendly reminder that the last words in the Mass Effect trilogy were "downloadable content".

That's EA for you.

The entire game.

as long as I find it attractive I literally do not care

if it's about me finding her attractive, then I win because I wanna fuck it.

if it's about others finding her attractive as some kind of social thing, then I win, because they do the mindfuckery to make them think they're attractive.

like if fat girls and cokeheads were all the rage for attractiveness i'd be seen as a dude pulling down 9-10's.

>some drunk NPCs mumbled some outlandish theory to themselves
>LOL MUST BE CANON
What is this, The Elder Scrolls?

Yeah I'm sure the writers were thinking of that, and the VAs, and the artists and designers. Not just a dumb blue human. No it's got a redundant gimmick to it. Yeaah!!

>some alien race
>looks exactly like a human
>LOL WUT A KOWINKIE-DINK

don't get me wrong i am a fan of the theory, but thats all it is. You shouldn't parade it around like it canon nor be surprised when the writers make something that goes against it.

Reminder that OP is a fucking retard and you should post your waifu

>clearly looks human
>NPC says it doesn't look human at all during bachelor party

At this point it's not a theory.

except that it objectivity is a theory. lets not forget that we saw asari statues in the temple and they looked exactly the same without the mindrape.

That doesn't make any damn sense, OP.

This would be painfully obvious to other alien species, such as: psychic abilities would no longer work when the asari die, complete dissection and study of the asari anatomy, long-distance video communication, Avina, watching any video recording with an asari in it, aliens being evolutionary and biologically incompatible, etc.

But Mass Effect is mostly about not following science and logic, so maybe it is true. I honestly can't make any damn sense of this game.

They dont change form when they die. Highly doubt they can exert influence on people they haven't met yet, AFTER they die. Asari look how they look if you, ya know, think about it.

More

Good taste.

That just makes my dick harder

You know that life kinda has to work in a particular way right? Like in reality if/when we find aliens out there they would look strikingly similar and, chemically speaking, would *have* to operate VERY similar (I hate it when the idea of like a sulfure based life form or some other element is somehow replacing the behavior of carbon). The idea of a humaniod alien isn't a possibility, its the most likely conclusion, ESPECIALLY in a species that is highly evolved, inteligent, and has mastered space travel (long enough for the fetal processes of evolution to take over and have the effects that often take place).

The guys talking at the bar in Illium

As opposed to subjectively a theory?

k m8

The natural world itself leaves impressions and indentations on your brain, who's to say their abilities don't do the same thing?

This theory never made any sense to me. To me it always seemed clear that they are just talking about how different species find specific traits and body parts of the Asari more. I don't remember exactly what they said, but if i remember right it was something like how Humans liked their boobs, Turians liked their head tentacles and Salarians liked something else.

>the mass effect universe is so barren of interesting lore that this little tidbit that probably isn't even true is repeated over and over and over again

will you fags just play TES already?

Except it doesn't work that way at all. Remembering the orientation of a tree or how light will fall at the end of the day is very different from altering the PHYSICAL appearance of a body. The mind doesn't trick the body into feeling a smooth tree when it's rough in reality, or make a rock tall and slender when its short and round. And if this is a conscious process, then death ABSOLUTELY would end that influence.

All women do this.

Prove me wrong.

>NPC says it doesn't look human at all during bachelor party
But that's not what they say.
The salarian focuses on how slender and flexible she is, while the turian is attracted to the head fringe thing.
They think she's hot for different reasons.
They're also drunk.

And pictures/videos are things that exist.

> Expecting utter fucking retards that din't even understand the basic concept of what ware Reapers doing, to understand something else basic like traits of attraction

>The natural world itself leaves impressions and indentations on your brain, who's to say their abilities don't do the same thing?

>Except it doesn't work that way at all.

How do you know how it works?

If that is true....

How do you explain the ruin fragments in the Asari temple?

Do those emit "PSYCHIC ABILITIES" too?

Is this your first exposure to Earth's science fiction, xeno user?

^What this guy said.

Reminder: Asari look exactly as they do in game. The psychic element is only further suggestion to other species to help further idealize the Asari appearance to everyone.

Something like this?

>"How can they be attractive to humans? They look just like salarians!"

Are you retarded?

>a drunk conversation is "real" evidence and not statues of Asari older than first contact with humans

I want to see her butt mesh.

> opposed to subjectively a theory?
objectivity means the state or quality of being true even outside of a subject's individual biases
it is only a theory and a very poor one.

>The natural world itself leaves impressions and indentations on your brain, who's to say their abilities don't do the same thing?
you are grasping at straws at this and that still doesn't explain the statues which hasnt left any impressions on us beforehand since it was was the first time seeing them.

>Like in reality if/when we find aliens out there they would look strikingly similar

There is no evidence suggesting they would. Since we are the only life known to us in the universe the only sample we have is ourselves

It works the same way as phantom limb syndrome, which is something I am VERY aquanted with.

Fuck off Todd

>this fictional psychic ability works the same way it does to my retarded brain condition

So, the Asari use space-makeup?

>Are you retarded?

I hope you're trolling. If not, then try to understand that this is why no one takes you seriously.

It's a callback to classic sci-fi, where aliens were often just babes with a weird thing on their head and body paint.

But if you must have one, there's an in-universe explanation.
Protheans fucked with the evolution of both.

>still doesn't explain the statues which hasnt left any impressions on us beforehand since it was was the first time seeing them

Because the effects of their abilities are permanent and work on inanimate objects.

It's possible that they would be very similar to us, we do have a very cool body. It's also possible that they're land octopussy.

We don't know, and there's no way we can know until we find some space alien.

>acting in the physical world has no affect on your brain

This is basic psychology.

No, they just wanted hot women with readable faces. You and I both know it.

No, pic related has the last words in the Mass Effect trilogy.

Easy, the fact that the statues look like human ansari.

>dat face
>dat rack

Love me some alien butterfaces.

Which proves that's just how they look.

Its a physics and chemistry thing. Im a chemical engineer and this is something dawns on you when youre in school. All life MUST be carbon based, its an organic/bio chem thing. Similarly, because WATER MUST be the primary fluid for life (again, for chemical and biological reasons), fluid dynamics MUST apply in the context of a water based system (that is to say, with a specific gravity ~1). This tells us that for any multicellular organism, you MUST have a gravity CLOSE to Earth's as gravity (as in all force dynamics, and fluid dynamics is really momentum dynamics) if vital to movement of fluids, both gases and liquids, both required for life, must resember the way they work in all life on our earth. Similarly, because of the gravity requirements, any terrestial species would end up requiring similar body structures, bones, endo or exo, to what we find on earth. So why not bug people? Because of how an endo skeletal system serves a more advanced, articulate species, with higher dexterity and ability to move around and manipulate objects (namely, tools). Thus an endoskeletal system is required. Again, baring a possible aquatic species, an land based endo skeletal system, with the ability to manipulate tools would IN INEVITABLY, look human.

Even if we were to count post-release DLC, Citadel takes place before the final battle.

They did change the final message, though.

Well, it hasn't been working lately.

>science is never wrong: The post

sure

dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2011/05/stephen-hawking-on-non-carbon-based-alien-life.html

Stephen Hawking doesn't agree, and i trust him more than you random faceless user.

You are a shit ChemE.

No evidence supports this.

Your headcanon is not actual canon autismo

Never made sense to me, mostly because Shep isn't necessarily into chicks. Why would they look like attractive women to Shep if that was the case?

>dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2011/05/stephen-hawking-on-non-carbon-based-alien-life.html

>The Earth was formed largely out of the heavier elements, including carbon and oxygen. Somehow, Hawking observes, "some of these atoms came to be arranged in the form of molecules of DNA. One possibility is that the formation of something like DNA, which could reproduce itself, is extremely unlikely. However, in a universe with a very large, or infinite, number of stars, one would expect it to occur in a few stellar systems, but they would be very widely separated."
Nitrogen and phosphorus could also potentially form biochemical molecules. Phosphorus is similar to carbon in that it can form long chain molecules on its own, which would conceivably allow for formation of complex macromolecules. When combined with nitrogen, it can create quite a wide range of molecules, including rings.

Everything in these two paragraphs are wrong. Like high school chemistry would teach you that's incorrect. Hawkings is a physist, not a chemist, so I can forgive it, but I suspect this is stuff made up or put out of context. You CANNOT have a non-carbon based life form, it doesnt work that way. Hydrogen bonding, oxidation/reduction, oh and COMBUSTION which REQUIRES Carbon (and is a VITAL organic process) cannot be completed with any other base element than carbon.

BTW, look up ad hominum

It's an even worse message than before.

No but your mind could perceive them like that kind of like Westworld robots not perceiving pictures that they dont understand. itsmagiciaintgottaexplainshit.jpg

Shepard sees one thing, the player sees another.

Just a not-so-friendly reminder that Bioware "lore" means less than Blizzard lore because they change it completely from game to game.

There's no way to know if what you posted is in any way the case in Andromeda, or even ten minutes after some shithead wrote it on the wiki for that matter.

...

The Asari use pheromones that can attract different species to noting arousal or attraction to the Asari in different ways. I don't know why these guys are talking about mind-rape.

Should I get this?

>Drunken banter is evidence

Okay, explain broadcasts over TV and images in magazines.

Explain the sign outside Flux of an Asari laying down.

Why.

Right, surely most humans see pictures of asari before ever being in the presence of one.

>security cameras don't exist in the 22nd century

what did user mean by this?

It's only function is creating basic save states to start the third game.
Which implies you would play the third game.

Why would you do that?

It's a fun idea, but since it's never talked about again, it's probably a one-off gag. If it were brain fuckery, it would probably be a psychic impression that changed the way your brain perceived the asari form permanently, rather than an active effect. That way even the statues would be humanoid. But this falls apart again in the case of someone having seen a photo of one before encountering one in the flesh

I like fat girls too, user. Where do you find such high quality ones?

Because I've seen videos of ME1 and ME2's gameplay, and it looks sloggish as fuck. ME3, on the other hand, is pretty smooth.

That was when you listen in on a small bachelor party with a human, turian and salarian.
Salarian's getting "married" (made a breeding contract or whatever), and the human hired an asari dancer, and they end up talking about what they all like about her.

I remember the salarian making a comment about her being a very nice shade of blue.

they are doing a poor job then because I'm sure as fuck not attracted to tentacles.

Then just play the MP.
Seriously, it's much more fun than the solo game.

God I jerked off so much to that scene

underrated

Well they're doing a piss poor jobe at it.
Why the fuck would they choose to look like niggers?

...

>plump lips = niggers now

...

To attract niggers, as they breed at a fast rate.

Tell me, what would the universe look like without a being to process it?

Sure, but I'm also a little interested in the story.

...

May God be with you on your journey, for where you go I cannot follow.

it's a theory based on a throwaway line from ME2 and nothing else. If it were true it means that every asari is constantly manipulating the minds of every single person looking them. It's more likely the line means that different species see different things that they like, just like with humans.

I'm sure that would make the animator proud.

...

Pretty much my qualm with what this guy said How does your mind perceive what it is looking at?

What if I saw the temple ruin piece and didn't know what I was looking at, at all? How does the mind know what to change in that particular image of those Asari farming and toiling the ground, lets say I was having a brain fart at that particular moment and didn't see the Asari there at first glance, how does the mind know what to alter anyway?

The "lel psyhic" leaves too many questions, and is too retardedly complex of an explanation, especially for a BioWare game, that can be explained just as easily as

She has way better costumes that that user..
