How can Amazon get away with this!!!

First: One copy is for me, the other for a friend's birthday.

I feel like every time I order a collectors edition, a nice art book, or anything I want in good condition gets fucked by Amazon.

No dunnage (the air bubbles that protects the items inside), greasy finger marks or just poor handlinf of the item.

Has anyone ever complained to then about it and what could they do? I should just stop ordering from them all together.

Its not even that bad, and no one gives a fuck.

Fuck off.

sage

no one cares, the damage looks normal. preorder from bestbuy next time

I don't see whats wrong with it?

Please never make a thread ever again.

Or a post.

just use some glue

Well i hate to break it to you but the little boy dies and the gryphon cant to nothing about it

That's how they came in at Gamestop. Almost not packaging. I hate taking in shipments.

False info. The dog dies and theres nothing the boy can do about it.

the only time I ever preordered a collector's edition (dark souls) the tin was all dented. I didn't really care because I was just in it for the art book, but it was bound so poorly that if you opened it all the way the pages would just fall out

I bought a name brand keyboard/folio for my nexus 9 on black friday because it was $50 instead of the usual $120.

The battery was faulty so now I have to return it for a money refund rather than a new folio.

Sometimes life will just fuck you and there's nothing you can do about it, OP.

The ending was clear from the moment you learned that you took care of that giant thing, and considering that it's a spiritual successor to Shadow of the Colossus and ICO, there's no fucking way there would be a good ending

The last collector's edition I bought from amazon was shipped in a bubble mailer and was smashed up.

Yourdamage is easily corrected.

I used to be an ASM there.

When we got our ni no kuni steelbooks we got 20 and they came unbubbled or protected, free floating in a huge box that could have held 50 more of them.

They were all damaged.

It sucked.

When may preorder o FFXV came the disc wan't in the holder and was just floating around in the case
Another bad experience was when I bought MGSV pre-order and although I ordered it a year in advance the day before my guaranteed arrival day changed from sept first to the fifteenth only 9 hours before the game was released worldwide

>packaging says 1 Bloodborne
>get 1 Last Guardian instead
fucking rip off

I am a packer at Amazon.

We get literally thousands of items a day we have to put into boxes and put on a conveyer belt.

Yes, most of the time I just toss your stupid fucking item in the box and tape it up.

We stand for 10 hours straight, with two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch break.

>When may preorder o FFXV came the disc wan't in the holder and was just floating around in the case
This can happen even when things are packed well. All it takes is the right shock to the shipping box in transit.

It's better now since the blu rays are more durable than dvds as far as scratches go.

I ordered a game last week with two day shipping from Amazon.

Now they say the game is 'delayed' and going to arrive Friday

Fuck Amazon.

And then I order replacement scotch tape, and it comes in only a single roll in a box filled with bubblewrap and that box is in a bigger box filled with bubblewrap.

Oh, I want to add, if we take time to pack an item nicely, our "life coach" walks by and asks us why we're going slower, they count the number of items we scan hourly and watch lower performers or people who are going fast then suddenly going slower.

I hear that working in amazon's shipping facilities is really really shitty.

Like, they'd use slaves if they could, shitty.

Where the fuck are you idiots coming from where you space out every fucking sentence with a line break?
Fuck off.

On the packing line, you have 1 foot between you, the packing desk, and the item shelf behind you. They're cubby holes where items get stuffed, you scan the hole, then pack the item. The desk is built for people who are average height, so like, 5'8". I'm 6'3" and have to lean over all day long and my back and legs fucking destroy me when I get home or go to bed.

It's so hellish no one gives a FUCK about any individual item.

Hmmm I guess I'm just anal about getting scratches on my disc

>tfw you always break your stuff to make it look like a shipping error so you don't have to pay a shelving fee for a refund
>tfw you probably got someone fired

amazon doesn't give a fuck what you pack.
I put the wrong items into boxes all the time and ship it out.

Greetings fellow Amazonian.
To follow up with this user, I am an Amazon picker at Amazon. I grab your order from some bins and send that shit to get packed.
Don't buy shit from amazon, we treat it all like shit and only care about getting the products out fast enough. I would've sent OPs item out like that if not a bit worse.

Why doesn't Amazon do release day shipping anymore? The last time I got something on release day was the PS4, all the games I've bought in the last couple of years shipped on release and arrived 2 days later.

Halloween - Hope someone enjoyed their lingerie and richard nixon masks.

I know the pick ticket said they ordered cat food.

>buying games physically in 2016

You do realise the cardboard sleeves on these things are designed to take the damage to protect the actual box and shit right? You dont fucking keep that part

>buying digital games
>ever

It triggers my autism too.

Do they do that at reddit?

It took forever for them to fill small material orders like that, so whenever we needed something like tape we'd order a ton of other stuff, too. Then it would get there within 4 or 5 days.

That company was a trip.

They laid off our store by calling a mandatory 7 AM meeting with the area manager at 8:45 PM the night before. We were getting laid off in two weeks cause they wanted us to close the store for them, and I wound up doing the vast majority of the work for that.

I disconnected the gamestop audio feed, plugged in an mp3 player.

I shipped all our garbage to the stores run by douches. Hundreds of ps2 and wii games that won't sell, rock band and guitar hero instruments and games, that sort of stuff.

All our good sellable stuff went to the nice stores.

It was great.

Pickers have it easy compared to packers.

I thought I got the good job. Until I realized you stand in your little spot on your rubber mat for 10 straight fucking hours, bending down behind you all day to grab items.

think thats bad? amazon is now starting to ship computer hardware without a box by default. just slapping a shipping label and sticking it on the motherboards box itself.

for example:
amazon.com/Optimization-ROG-STRIX-X99-GAMING/dp/B01F854U8E

you have to go into gift options at checkout and request it to be shipped in an amazon box. they shipped my nh-d15 like this and its how i found out.

Do you wear dr scholl's gel inserts or anything like that in your shoes?

I had 9 hour shifts on a line once and those helped a lot with my back and legs.

>Don't buy shit from Amazon
So what, I should go to a store like a fucking animal?

Oh god. They don't do this at my warehouse yet.

>Buying collector's editions
I'm sure in 30 years you'll look at your shelves of cheap plastic statues and say to yourself "Worth every penny".

Yeah, I wear everything. I use everything.

Nothing helps. You're bending and twisting and kneeling down on your knees for literally 10 hours. As soon as I get anywhere in that big ass warehouse for break, break is over and I have to go back.

But they do

I love store closings, I get to take so much stuff and just horde it. Got the computer desk we had in the back room, some gamestop signs, console center, monitors and just wires and shit.

>Order blu ray drive from amazon
>Get coffee pot
>Return coffee pot for refund
>Amazon refuses my refund because I sent them the coffee pot and not the blu ray drive
>But I told you you sent me the wrong item!
>We know, but you must return the blu ray drive to get the refund
>But you never sent me the blu ray drive, you sent me a coffee pot.
>Please return the blu ray drive to receive your refund

This was your fault, I know it.

I agree user. I would hate that shit. At least I'm constantly on the move. Regardless it's not the best. You haven't thought about getting trained for other departments?

Oh yes I will.
pricecharting.com/game/super-nintendo/earthbound?q=earthbound

What do you have on your shelf?

I didn't do the coffee pot thing, and most of the time it's genuinely an accident.

Nope, in our warehouse they don't give a single fuck and won't move me. I originally got hired on to be a new hire trainer, too, and they left me here.

Ive never had amazon send me anything that wasnt filled with bubblewrap and shit to fill empty space.

>implying tlg exists

I hope you pack my stuff, user.

I took one of the TVs, from the ps3 demo kiosk.

Our sony rep had been fired and we hadn't seen one in 4 months, so I just figured, fuck it.

Well, it was during peak, because peak started early for some dumb fucking reason here, like mid october through november/december.

And they were rushing us so fucking much I just started throwing shit into boxes and scanning the wrong labels.

Well how do you get it? I preordered The Last Guardian and it just shipped out today. There was no option for release day delivery when I checked out.

Oh, and like 10 power strips.

There were so many power strips.

>return incorrect coffee pot for refund
>get your account banned by amazon for "two many returns"
kek

You have to be near a fulfillment center. One's right down the road from my house and I can order same day delivery as late as noon for most items.

You'll have to learn how to communicate with people sometime, user

I'm sure its very gratifying to sell something you bought 20 years ago for a couple days worth of minimum wage work.

That's weird, I had to return something I got along with a few other things in the same box, and I was able to return just the one item without any issues.

>couple days worth
user plsd.

Amazon prime? I've been getting preorder stuff on release day for over a year now

Well that's fucked. Sorry to hear user. What facility is it? If you mind me asking.

>he doesn't buy the collectors editions for all his games

Most modern collector's editions by far will never hit that level, or usually even maintain their original value, due to overproduction and lack of nostalgic interest.

So, good luck, I guess.

Jeffersonville, Indiana

>never hit that level
Said people about Earthbound in 2007.

...

amazon can be selectively retarded on returns.

They threatened to ban my account once after I told them they sent me two copies of a game when I bought one, unless I paid to ship it back to them immediately.

They pretty much acted like I stole it.

As an Amazon associate, don't ever buy anything you want in perfect condition from us. It's all shoved into the same bins as everything else, it's very likely to take a dent or two just from it's time in the warehouse.

Seriously. I ordered a paint touch up pen for my truck, it's about the size of two big sharpies next to each other. The thing came in a box big enough to hold probably two shoeboxes and had about 10 air bags in it. That shit seems wasteful as fuck.

Nobody in 2007 said earthbound wasn't valuable.

>Ordered from Amazon, shipped by Fed Ex
>Paid for day 1 delivery, I was impatient
>Was home all day, just to make sure I got it
>all day, never hear the door or a truck
>Check delivery status, says "Delivered"
>Walk outside while getting ready to call UPS about it
>Find my package face down in mud, right in the fucking ditch
>Game wasn't wrapped, muddy water seeped in and ruined the disc

It was so long ago that I don't even remember what game it was, but what that fucking deliveryman did pissed me off.

I just started working as a packer at Amazon back on the 17th. Waking up at 4 am and getting to work before 6:30 just to stand for ten hours and getting a few hours to myself after work fucking blows. I hope Amazon let me go after the holidays.

wait did you tell them they shipped you two or did they somehow find out on their end and contacted you about it?

I have Prime, and like I said my PS4 arrived on release day. Since then it's been standard 2-day shipping on preorders 100% of the time.

I like buying Physical games and movies. But I like the standard boxes, I've never understood buying these massive boxes that come with art books and statues that probably cost 12 cents to make for double the normal price.

My vice is kitchen equipment. I have an obscene amount of gadgets, pots, pans and gizmos. I knocked down my dining room to expand the kitchen to fit it all.

>all these anons with their shitty job
>hardest thing I did all year at my job was beating Planescape Torment

No idea how things work over there, I'm on the other side of the country. How long have you been working there?
You a stower, user? Fuck you. You guys always fuck shit up for pickers.

>Ordered from Amazon, shipped by Fed Ex
>Walk outside while getting ready to call UPS about it
wut

Amazon shipped my ps4 to me with fedex. I was in my kitchen and watched him throw the box at my front door and walk away.

If I ever order 1 day shipping an it goes to fedex, I assume I won't get it in time.

Might want to contact them about it because that should not be happening. You might get some form of compensation for it.

So your just a slow fucking white badge that we can't wait to get rid of .
Mezz PA here.

It was 50 bucks in 2007. In box it's 600 now.

I run a use game store, and I'll tell you right now 7th gen collector's editions are and will always be worthless trash. I could build a throne and a house to go around it out of the damn things that sit around for ages that no one wants.

Hopefully user. Amazon picker here, I've been working there for about a year and a half now. And night shift too. They've been making us work 6 days a week now. I've literally been sleeping and working this peak. Shit blows.

Amazon is just shit. They send obvious resealed stuff as new. They're as bad as gamestop.

i did warehouse work for target one year during the holiday season. never again. never fucking again. treated us like absolute garbage and worked us like slaves.

this season i said fuck it and enjoying the neet life. i hate retail and warehouse work but sadly its all thats around here in a 80 mile radius. i miss college so damn much.

>No idea how things work over there, I'm on the other side of the country. How long have you been working there?

I've been packing for 2 years. I'm quitting after Christmas for a new job, finally.

Why would you tell them they fucked up and sent you two? Just sell one, or give it to a friend. You don't tell companies when they fuck up in your favor. I hope you learned your lesson.

I emailed them after I got the package and told them they sent me two by mistake and that I would gladly ship them back the extra if they gave me a shipping label.

They immediately told me to ship it back at my expense immediately or my account will be banned.

I decided fuck that, sold the extra on ebay, and they never banned me or asked about it.

>this season i said fuck it and enjoying the neet life. i hate retail and warehouse work but sadly its all thats around here in a 80 mile radius. i miss college so damn much.

I don't have parents and live on my own, so, no such luxury.

Amazon U.S. had some problems with hard drive shipping where the would just throw the hard drive and some bubble in a way too big carton leading to many hard drive failures

Are you in a warehouse in Detroit or something? I've never received a damaged item from Amazon, and I've been buying shit from them for like a decade. Hell, I've had my Prime membership since 2008, there's no way I would keep paying for it if I got damaged shit from them.

Here's a question Sup Forums. Where do you buy weeb games new for cheap like 3-4 years after the game is released where you can be sure it is actually new?

Seems like there's nowhere given Amazon and Gamestop both are shady as hell with "new" items.

Good choice, user. I still have half a year to make two years. I'll probably quit by then too.

>Amazon sent me out Etrian Odyssey 3 instead of the first one
>I kept it and reordered the first game again
>mfw I saved like 20 bucks because the first game was a lot cheaper than the third one is
I sometimes like when Amazon is dumb.

Christ, I can't imagine working at Amazon for a year especially at a night shift.

wow try to do the """""right""""" thing and they fuck you over.
