WHY DO YOU ALWAYS DO THIS SHIT STEAM

WHY DO YOU ALWAYS DO THIS SHIT STEAM.

Servers are down for maintenance right now.

>steam rarely if ever down for more than a few minutes
>one of these threads every single time

your internet/connection sucks

Steam does maintenance every Tuesday and has since its inception.

>People STILL complain every Tuesday about maintenance

literally never happened to me.

>meanwhile on PSN
>haven't been disconnected once all week

Your internet is SUCH shit that it can't send a 4kb worth of packets to log in from

Meanwhile since Sony raised the price of their PS+ service, PSN has gone down a total of 13 times since the middle of september

join gog then

Valve earns gorillions of dollars. They should be able to afford a backup auth server.

one time my laptop wouldnt connect to steam for like 6 months and the fucking only thing that fixed it was disabling and reenabling my ethernet adapter in the device manager

I wish Steam would just die.

They don't even support old games like GoG does.

PC gaming is a shitfest thanks to Steam, Microsoft's GFWL and dropped online support of games.

A backup auth would still attempt to auth to another server which would be down anyway.

this is the first time steam's auth has been down in almost a year. Even then this doesn't stop you from playing games except Valve games

>They don't even support old games like GoG does.
what the fuck does this even mean?

probably referring to how a lot of companies just dump their game on steam and end support for problems caused by conversions or inexperienced devs.

>
that sounds like an issue with devs not steam

GoG tells you which versions of Windows their games are compatible with.
Steam just writes the original System Requirements "Windows XP or better" without even checking if they run on Windows 8 or 10.

Thats microsoft's problem for not supporting things like legacy Dx9 libraries. All windows XP games will work in Windows 8 because windows 8 has the same graphics libraries and .dll's as windows 7. Its only windows 10 that dropped support for all of that.

Windows 8 and 10 have a lot of problems with old games that use directdraw.
Desperados 1+2 and Commandos 3 are unplayable on 8 and 10, but Steam doesn't tell you before you buy.

then refund the game under incompatibility?

Why is Windows 7 still the best platform?

did it go down again lmao?

>again
hasn't gone down in years and I can connect to steam right now, sounds like a mild hiccup

How many times has PSN gone down?
